Is the ban on filming on all federal waters? Can it be that they don't want the world to see that Las Vegas is drying up? Keep rolling finally fishing 👍

Hey Tim. The ban is on all Federal grounds and monuments. It's not a new rule, just has some new interest lately. It counts for The Grand Canyon, Yosemite...

Hi Vernon this is Ralph and Kingman. I was wondering if you heard anything about them putting restrictions on the RU-vid channel as far is Lake Mead? I was watching the Sin City outdoors RU-vid video, and they said that you have to have a permit now in order to film anything on Lake Mead. Something about $200 for the permit for 10 days and there’s no guarantee that you’ll even get the permit. I just thought that I would try and keep you from getting in any trouble maybe, because they were saying something about like a $10,000 fine. I talked to Don Martin about it and he said that he hadn’t heard anything here in Arizona. So let me know what you find out or if it’s true or if you want to watch what Sin City outdoors will having to say. OK bud will talk to you soon.

Hey Ralph, so this is an old rule. Getting a permit for commercial filming at Lake Mead has always been required. More specifically, any federal grounds require the permit, not just Lake Mead. The thing is my videos are non-commercial. I don't make any money, nor do I have ads on my Lake Mead or Mohave videos. According to the nps.gov website, non-commercial videos are mostly still allowed without a permit. The moment that changes, I will reconsider. But thanks for the concern. I will keep you guys posted.

Thanks Guy Downstairs, actually talked to some rangers about it. Some RU-vid Channels inflate the problem a little more than it actually is. The main thing is that it has always been a requirement to obtain a permit for filming on federal grounds for commercial filming.

@@gottgaame Apparently people are now required to buy special licenses / permits in order to make youtube videos like this at lake mead and national parks, with penalties of jail time / hundreds of thousand of dollars.

As far as I know, you are allowed to film at Lake Mead and post it on social media. As long as you de-monetize the video. 🤗
