Is it too much to ask for more after we have been given so much?
Nope! Not at all!
So, these are my top 5 dream kits that I hope to see announced in 2023 and available for us soon after. And hey, it's not like I am asking for a B-1 in 32nd scale. All of these are more than reasonable asks!
In fact - one has already been announced! Yay me!

Special thanks to Mike Murphy for his Sabre pictures!

I second your nomination for a new Privateer. It has always been my favorite airplane since that's what my Dad flew in during WW2. I built one of the old Matchbox kits for him many years ago. It is a pretty good kit for being so old, but could use updating and is not an easy build.

Totally agree with you as a big Japanese WW2 aircraft fan in 1/48..I’ve got the icm 1/48 Sally on pre-order but please give us all more.!

I'm late to the party but I'd love a 1/48 Catalina re-release or new kit. A HK models liberator in 1/48 would be nice too.

Yes Yes Yes! The new corsair is very good, the privateer is very old and it seems no one will make it again. But B5N2 "Kate" from Border is already on its way to me!

1/32 F-101B - One of the most overlooked aircraft in modeling. Don't care who makes it as long as it's shaped correctly and got detail.

I only want Hasegawa to start retooling their 1/48 Japanese lineup, with an eye on more /accurate detail, fewer versions packed into one mould, and more open canopies. Basically any kit pre 2008 (about the time of the F1M Pete) needs an overhaul. Additionally, I would like to see Hasegawa release a 1/32 Ki-43 (all versions and better body lines, no separate wingtips, rivets) , a 1/32 ki-61 Tei , a 1/32 N1K1-j (it’s so ungainly that it’s beautiful), and a 1/32 Ki-27 (or any pre 1939 fighter/recce/single engine bomber).

One of the most funny videos I've watched in a while. But I wish for a new A-1 Skyraider in the 1/72 scale. The fujimi and hasegawa ones are very hard to find and expensive.

A 1/48 P-47M reasonably priced and for Tamiya to scale down their P-38. We desperately need a good solid 1/72 P-38.

Glad you asked. In kits to modern standards, we need a good Boeing Model 40, a Junkers G 38, A nice Sikorski S-42. A Lockheed Sirius and a Lodestar. 1/72 fits these. I second the motion for the Privateer! LCI

What I'd like to see is: 1. 1/48 Aichi "Jake" E13A floatplane (Hasegawa?) 2. 1/32 Ki-43 Hayabusa "Oscar" both early and late variants 3. 1/32 Ki-27 Nate by Hasegawa. 4. 1/32 NIK1-j Shiden by Hasegawa 5. All those Japanese twin engine bombers in 1/48 (ICM? Tamiya? Hasegawa?) That is, the late version Betty, the Frances, the Helen, the Peggy, and a better model of the Lily than the one that came out recently.

I would like to see more subjects in 1/48 that never made it past the prototype stage like the Moonbat, Pirate, Chain Lightning and bombers like the Rainbow and Tornado. While I'm at it, how bout a Mauler and a Savage. As for my "holy grail" would be a brand new tooling of the Lockheed Constellation family in 1/72. Tickle me with one in 1/48.

Im currently building the Testors boxing of the U-2C. Ive spent over 100 hours so far scratch building the cockpit, forward and read landing gear bays, landing gear, scribing, riveting, re working body shape. And its not even the variant of U-2 I wanted to build. It's safe to say that the modelling world is in need of some new U-2's in 48 scale. I don't want to be building a kit with an empty void for a cockpit or a flat piece of plastic for the gear bay. totally agree with you on the U-2 point

For any given subject, I tend to think that it has one particular ideal scale for me. For instance, I would love to see a new B-2 or XB-70 in 1/144 scale, or a Forrestal class carrier in 1/350 (preferably Saratoga).

I build lots of civilian aircraft for which there are huge gaps. My top choices are (1/48): Fairchild Hiller FH1100 helicopter, Hiller 12e helicopter, Robinson R22 & R44 helicopters, Piper PA28 Tomahawk (1/48 or 1/32), a decent suite of Cessna's in 1/32 including 172, 180, 185, 206 &208. Last, some planetary spacecraft e.g 1/32 Mars rovers, the Pioneers, Voyagers, Soviet space craft. There, that's enough!

I would really like to see a 1/72 F-111A ARDVARK with great detail and up to date tooling!! I would also like to see more 1/72 scale after market parts for newer kits!! 1/48 and 1/32 scale kits are pricing the average guy out of modeling. I know that model kit makers need to turn a profit but the prices are rediculas!

For the F-86, I want to see a new kit, but enough of the 6-3 wing. We need an F-86A so we can do the early aces. We also need an F-86H, which is big and oddball. But man it looks good in ANG unit SEA camo. I agree the time is right for a new Corsair, but it really needs to start with an F4U-4, preferably from Tamiya in 1/48. The F4U-4 is kind of the left out thing compared to Tamiya's -1s and Hasegawa -5,-6,-7s. Hobby Boss has some problems as well. I concur with a U-2R/S. Hobby Boss announced one about four years ago, but it has never materialized and I don't know if it ever will. I don't know what I could add that you haven't already addressed. I'll think... Okay... How about a new tool F-111 series so we can ditch the Academy kits and the weirdo Hobby Boss one. And if I REALLY want to dream, why not a F-111B? Give it a set of pilots wearing the clamshell helmets? That would be different.

My list: 1. 1/48 (or 1/72) F9F-6 Cougar. I dread the day I start tackling an expensive kit-bash&scratch build of one of these mid-50's Navy birds. 2. 1/72 (or 1/48) new tool B-26 Marauder. 3. 1/48 (and 1/72) F9F Panther family (-2, -5) on par with today's latest quality kits 4. 1/48 (and 1/72) early AD/A-1 Skyraiders, pre AD-6. 5. 1/72 (or 1/48) Cessna T-47A Citation

@@ModelAirplaneMaker The old Revell is way better than the Dragon/Panda offerings and the Revell kit is showing its age. Kittyhawk promised a new 1/35th scale Huey but released it in 1/48th instead. Modeling is dying is a very variable statement and it is closely related to the country you live in. Here in Italy, my generation (guys from the 70s) will be the last one to represent the hobby. I own a model store and the average age is 65. Moreover price increasing keeps newbies far away, without mentioning room to store even 72 models. It's a shame and I mainly say it as an hobbyist, more than a shop owner.
