Only a couple runs in, but the mizuno wave rebellion flash 2 is getting a lot of love from me. Seems to suit my gait nicely at a range of paces. And on my preferred surface, the north face Vective enduris is still an all time classic.
Woohoo! Sky Paris for the win. I used mine to run yet another BQ. Also, it's training partner, the Magic Speed 4, arrives in the mail next week. Yay me! Thanks, Edd.
Hi Edd, you must test the New Mizuno Neo Vista... I got a pair a few weeks ago and WOW!, the smoothest run ever.. Just a magical shoe IMO and a contender for the shoe of the year... Highly recommended
Metaspeed sky Paris (pb's in them) and finally, pre-ordered the SB II, shipping July 5th and already pretty much sold out on the asics site here in the states. Good luck next round euro and by the way for London, "Not this time" once again..like clockwork.
@@EDDBUDreally, nearly impossible to get in as an Int'l participant and since my wife is dead set on completing Abbott 6 (will have three of them by the fall), we may have to bite the bullet with a tour group. Ouch on the wallet...
Weymouth mention! I'm going to get the SL2 and the Nitro 3, I think. (Also got my 'not this time' email). Best bit of the whole video - Michael Elphick as BOON.
For me so far till i get my superblast 2 the best shoes have been the sl2 and the rebel v4. I tried the neo vista and that went back as it was just like running in mud
Dankeschön 🙏 Puma and Adidas sound very interesting. For my easy runs I use the Gel Nimbus 25 and the Invincible 3. For faster runs or intervall, I love the Tri Noosa 15. Street to Trail I like my Nike Pegasus Trail 4.
Thanks, great review! Btw, i purchased a new pair of Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3, and in my size 47 they are each 25 grams lighter than my 2022 pair. Really surprised me!
Thx Edd! Considering Endorphin Pro 3/4 for fall marathon. Might stick with my SC Trainer V2 tho. It’s my old reliable! Need to try Pumas but they don’t do 1/2 sizes in my giant 12.5 range.
I don’t think you would have a problem with the 13 pumas imo, just going by my own experience with multiple pumas v many other brands, loving my puma magnify size 12 could go to 12.5 no problem if they had them and I would, hope that helps, puma are always underrated ,best bang for buck by far if you buy when discounted, good luck.
I'm tempted to buy the white sl2 - as all of my trainers are now white (nimbus mirai, nova and kayano) but I love the vibe from your colorway. Seems like they're releasing the other colors per region for that model. Thanks for the review Ed!
Get it... it's awesome in white....I get compliments on it when I run and it's a superb ride...can do it all...I also have the carbon colour for contrast ...also looks great
Just came back from a run in your top pick this morning. The Sky Paris is an absolute dream shoe. Perfecto! Will be getting the Deviate Nitro Elite 3 in the future. Have a great week Edd!
I was tempted to buy the Edge Paris (which worked best for me testing both versions) but am sticking with my new unused Endorphin Pro 3 bought almost half price for my upcoming marathons for the same reason--more stable, plus I had a huge PR in them, so if it ain’t broke….etc.
Hoka Cielo X is for sure the running shoes I have used the most in 2024. Maybe not your race day shoe, but for everything else it’s my go to. For race day it’s still Alphafly 1
@@EDDBUD, I’m hearing the increase is marginal and hoping the change to FF turbo + will add to the pop. It does appear they closed to open sections on the outsole so it won’t collect small pebbles anymore.
You read my mind Ed! Trying to decide between getting the alphafly 3 and deviate nitro elite 3. Really want the release colorway for nitro elite but can't find in my size 😢
I must say (and as recommended by your good self!) that the Brookes Hyperion Max is a superb shoe! Far better than I was expecting, very light, good cushion and all for less than 100 earth credits! 👍
I bought the puma DN2 based on your recommendation and have done over 1000km so far. Holding up well, if not quite as lively as when new. Outsole very good for that distance. Thanks for the recommendation
The alphafly V3 is a huge disappointment for me and the Diadora cara carbon, the Hoka Cielo x1 and mach 6 were all good choices for me this year..would like to try the Puma nitro elite 3 but it's not available yet...might have to dust off a new pr of NB elite V3 for a 10k at July 4th races..with the right insoles it's crazy bouncy..reminds of the invincible V-1 out of the box bounce before they went flat..
Just did my first long run in the Adidas SL2. Felt nimble enough and had plenty of cushion for me for the entire 20 miles. Awesome price to cushion to weight ratio impo.
Got a pair of Cielo x1s and Metaspeed sky Paris came available and ended up getting those too. Usually wait for a dry day and easy run for 1st outing of a new pair and haven't got either out yet, just wore around the house a short while yet. Tbh based on house wear I'm more excited about the Hokas with the speed role throwing you forward but the Asics might surprise me yet
Love the Neo, but nowhere near as fast as the Prime X for me, I'm using it more as a recovery, LSR shoe and probably putting more miles on it than any other shoe.
With one exception these are all super shoe racing models. I'd rather see a "best of" that acknowledges the differences between categories of shoes -- daily trainers, tempo trainers, recovery trainers, racers.
Puma have got issues with insole manufacturing at the moment returned several pairs from different online retsilers, IMO material changed and is no good when gets 🔥🥵. Unlike earlier models, so be aware. The midsole also has issues too, as goes very mushy in hot westher, so much that I feel makes unpredictable impact & unstable, gives me ankle & calve aches for last 2 weeks, did not have that last years model, in fact now using last years again & shelved current model until autumn westher. Ed do some durometer readings at 22c or after a run a dvyou will see a massive differnce in the side wall metrics.
I used version 2 of the elite nitro for last years Manchester marathon .. and if this is an improvement I say go for it (I think we run kind of the same times) .. you will love the course (half of it you did last year for the half) a couple more lumps and bumps but with much better post race support.
Great review! - If you were chasing a Marathon PB, which of these shoes would you pick, I'm running Chicago in Oct and looking for a shoe to go Sub 3 in. Tempted to go for the Sky Paris, but lots of reviewers have been saying the AF3 is the best Marathon Shoe.
Rejected annually by London but the frustrating part is that I would qualify for my AG standard if it were open to non-UK residents. I’ll have to bit the marathon-tour bullet as well to have a realistic chance. At least this year’s rejection didn’t feature misleading happy dancing emojis. 😂
Great vid as always, appreciate it boss. AF 3 have the chance now to buy, wondering your opinion to go true to size? My Endo pro 3 and Sky Paris both 11.5 and fits perfectly. Should I stick with the same size with the AF3?
Im heavy and wery new to this runing thing, bought the nimbus26 tr, no trouble with hurting heals anymore, and im just runing to get in shape, speed or compete is not on the worldmap
Good analysis of the top shoes. Please could you do a shoe review of the ASICS Metaspeed Edge Paris reason being is I bought a pair 3 months ago. As I will be running in the Edges for my annual Marathon race this November. Thanks.🙂
I had a rare chance to compare the Paris Edge and Sky back to back at the Boston Asics pop up. I can say they were both comfortable and fun to run in but Asics’ intentions proved valid in my case: I have a very high default cadence of around 188 and the Edge provided more propulsion whereas the Sky gave me more vertical bounce. My short but fast stride felt more optimized by the Edge. That being said, I still didn’t buy them. Rather, I’m playing it safe and sticking with the Endo Pro. I just bought 2 pairs of late-manufactured v3’s at close to half price because I had a huge marathon PR in that iteration and while the shoes probably didn’t play the starring role in that, I had zero issues with them out of the box. They aren’t quite as comfy for me as v4, but I think they enhanced my biomechanics more.
Forgot to mention, tried on the endorphin pro 4 in 2 diff shops but just didn't find them comfortable. Have speed 2 & shift 3 from Saucony which have been great so was surprised
Hi Ed, Have you tried the edge Paris? or heard anything good/bad VS the Sky Paris? I loved the orignal Sky but in the plus modeles I liked the Edge+ better. TY
ok Eddbud, question for you. What "Supershoe" do you recommend for someone that needs a little stability in their longer runs? I know no super shoe is a "stability shoe" but what is one you think has the most stability? Love your videos by the way, I am a new follower but have been devouring them.
The secret stability shoes are the good ones like the foreverun and even the triumph 21. The Kayano is a great option too for some medial stability. All foam these days and no nasty plastic stuff
You make the SL2 sound so appealing, but I'm an experienced runner and training for a marathon now. Do you have any recommendation? I'm a midfoot strider
