My bird has a flat perch with a grid of grooves cut into it. Its his favorite toy and perch! I got it from hoot n holler bird toys. Its the perfect size for my budgie's beak and fits dry seed and pellets very well.
Even as Ive become more of an "expert" at bird owning through the years, I still find ur videos so helpful and entertaining. And always enjoy seeing Newt and Mia. Also, your makeup look is giving fairy vibes, I love it! ✨💗
My birds love those rattan arrows from my safe bird store. I stuff it with their favorite treats and toy parts and crinkle paper. I recently colored one green and put a rattan star at the top to make it look like a Christmas tree, and they tore it to shreds already!
have not watched all of this [as it came out a few mins ago] but i just wanted to say that your videos/tumblr are very helpful ! thanks for updating em :]
Rocco's favorite thing is a deeper box full of random toy parts and pellets, seeds, or dried fruit. Apparently this is the best toy ever! Not really like a foraging tray cause he can't fit into it, but similar! Conure says throwing things is fun
I have used the tip and treat toy. It's not super hard but it does take a little thinking to learn how to use it. You can really only use small seeds or pellets in it but my parrotlets really like it.
I am feeling frustrated about the toys I have for my Parrotlet. I feel like every time I post a picture of him enjoying one of them on my parrotlet group on Facebook people jump all over me about certain components of the toys being unsafe. I don't want him to be unsafe but some of it seems a little far-fetched. His very favorite thing is a seagrass mat hung by plastic linked chain from another sea grass mat and it has closed metal rings attaching the chain to the mat. People were saying that they were afraid that he could get the rings open and impale himself. I tried getting the rings open and I can do it but it takes some real effort and it takes some dexterity. So I'm torn I hate to take it away from him because he is having a blast with it He swings back and forth He shreds the sea grass He just has a ball. I would appreciate your input. I did learn unfortunately that one toy that I had was not safe It was made out of shoelaces and they dangled down from the top and I guess it was for preening but he got his head up through the hole the top ring that they were tied to and he got his body pushed through there and then he couldn't get out. So that toy is now in the trash. If you see this I would really appreciate what you have to say about it because I respect you and trust you. Thank you so much!
Honestly unless the toy is outright toxic I leave it up to the individual. If your bird is not physically capable of harming themselves on the toy then it may be safe for your bird, just not safe for others. Anything you give a bird can cause harm in the right conditions, as long as the toy gets inspected regularly I wouldn’t see anything wrong with using it. If you are concerned about potential harm I’d see if you can swap out the potentially harmful parts for something safer so the toy can still be used!
Feathered addictions sells them as “pod cups” which is where I usually get them from www.featheredaddictions.com/Pod-Cups--Small--1-to-15--6pc_p_4811.html
