Something so unbelievably cool about the best knight in King's Landing falling for a fucking female knight who is even bigger, braver and stronger than he is. Absolutely incredible storyline.
Jaime is a broken man. As a boy, he idolized the knighthood and kinsguard. He and Brienne have that in common. However, events transpired that disillusioned Jaimie and made him bitter. The events surrounding the mad king and bearing the stain of "Kingslayer" and "Oathbreaker" are what finally broke him completely. He was disillusioned by the knighthood, Kings guard, the ideas of chivalry, honor, etc. In this way, he and the Hound have this in common. But Brienne was different. When they met, she wasn't an actual knight but she held true to the ideals of honor and chivalry. Not only that, but while he traveled with her, he saw her display true courage, strength and skill as a warrior. Though she was not officially a knight, he saw that she was not merely pretending and living in a fantasy - she was the real deal. And unlike him, though she was abused, mocked, scorned and not taken seriously - she remained true to her oaths and maintained her honor, dignity and chivalry. Out of everyone Jaimie had known as a "knight", this woman with no official knighthood proved to be the only true knight. She was everything he once wanted to be and she showed him that there is still some good in this world. Of course he fell in love with her. Though she wasn't physically beautiful (she's ugly in the books), her personality and spirit were the most beautiful things he had ever known. And she deserved the knighthood more than anyone he had known. This is why when he had the chance, he gave her that title - making it official. Brienne of Tarth was the one true knight in Westeros.
@@zapsora3618 In terms of outside of his family. Even then Brienne saw him on a different level, they were equals but in a way opposites. He was jaded and scarred because of his family name and what he did for the name of Lannister.
@@capitanoholla5032True, but Tyrion being Tyrion was probably wise enough to piece things together. He didnt have to talk to him about it but as his brother, he probably understood.
Yes, but that gift was incredibly expensive! It is expensive to have armor made as well as having a valerian sword! People are lucky to have a sword, much less a valerian sword!
That's why he loves and respects her so much. He's everything he himself wanted to be and he will do whatever to protect thst because his dream has come true, it's just materialised as someone else and that someone is the woman he loves.
I think for Jamie there is something incredible alluring about Brienne. She has hope and faith. She believes in knighthood, in the chivalry virtues, in honor. She expects Jamie to still live up to these codes and her believe in Jamie must be compelling for a man who's cynical and pragmatic view of the world have left him jaded.
I began to love Jaime when he stepped in to make sure Brienne wasn't going to be raped, nor was she going to be a meal for a bear. Brienne had his back, the same way he had hers.
@@justsomeguy6133 I’m not even convinced he truly loved Cersei, at least not in the way he loved and respected Brienne. His relationship with Cersei was more of an obsession and addiction he couldn’t get rid of
I believe his relationship with Cersei was a very very bad very unhealthy habit since his youth. Cersei filled his head with her nonsense psychosis about them being connected, one soul in two bodies. But it was just her manipulating and abusing him. They did NOT love each other. I know people say Jaime loved her more than she loved him but Jaime did not love her. She was familiar. It's like having a drink after being sober for a period of time. Shes a needle in his arm and a thorn in everyone's ass.
In the books Jaime mentions a few times how beautiful Brienne‘s eyes are, for example: “Jaime watched her eyes. Pretty eyes, he thought, and calm.” “She does have astonishing eyes” and “ ‘Blue is a good color on you, my lady,’ Jaime observed. ‘It goes well with your eyes’ “ in the show that’s missing, but in the show sometimes Jaime looks at Brienne with great intensity like at 1:18 17:03 and 17:26 and I like to think he’s mesmerized by her eyes
every time she goes far away from him... he looks while she's going away, and she looks back... that's true love...never spoken but seen in the eye of beholder. you feel it even not spoken...
Brienne is the only character who I can think of that had no disappointments in her story arc in my opinion. The lousy writers screwed up everyone around her but she stayed true.
@@MrJimjahugh did he? Gets called a good man and runs into a white walker to get easily slaughtered, it was rushed and sloppy just like the rest of them.
@@jacobsaunders1092 i liked it to be honest. The ending was perhaps a bit rushed and he died in probably one of the worst episodes in thrones history but he went from a ward of the starks to a traitor; punished for what he did and then had a short redemption which ended with him sacrificing himself for the family he betrayed. That's at least better than 90% of the characters endings in season 8
This is the first time I’ve noticed Pod gets down to boost her into the saddle. I’m guessing she didn’t need it but he was so used to doing that for Tyrion. He really is a great squire
Anyone else wish that Bronn came up behind Jaime after Brienne was leaving in #7 and said: "If you were waiting for the opportune moment... that was it"?
I love the dynamic between these two, it was so good to see. She saw beyond the Kingslayer and that is something Jaime always craved, shame about the end of it all though
1:06 thats such an underrated moment. That part there, where Jamie is searching Bri's face, he's looking for any sign shes being sarcastic or having a laugh but shes sincere and it really shows
@@bottombagfrenchfry7127 I didn't get to see it live but I stalked twitter for an hour and then started looking on youtube. We got #oathsex😍 and then he left 😭😭😭😭. I'm wondering how much time elapsed between tho. I got so many feelings about that episode I just can't express lol
See when she looked back at him when she was leaving you could see the love he had for her, but because of his absolutely weird relationship with Cersei he could never be with Brienne and I think they would have been wonderful
I'm sad we never saw lord Selwyn Tarth. He must have been out there, doing something - he obviously backed Renly and Margaery up, if he sent his only daughter to be Renly's kingsguard. Other characters mention him in a positive light too and he seems to have been a good father from what Brienne says about him.
Like him or Hate him, Jaime did do unbearably questionable things, but the man made honorable choices too. Part of me thinks he never truly forgave himself for pushing Bran, same with never forgiving himself for killing the mad king. But he was right. The Targaryen was willing to commit genocide because of paranoia, and Bran was truly innocent before falling from that tower. Plus Nicholai is a great rendition of Jaime because not just anyone could have pulled this character off, Waldau did it with flying colors
The actress who played Brienne's character, said she's glad to explore "Brienne The Woman in S8", *guess who's glad to explore that part too* 😏 Really I just want they admit their love for each other before all this great war starts, is it too much to ask ???? If they don't become canon in the show I hope at least in the books, plus it seems more intense ahaha. 15:16 to 15:20, Brienne is like "OKAAY wtf why are u yelling at me ??!, I really don't like that 😢" and Jaime so sweet, he's like "oh f** I really missed you ! I'm sorry babe to yell at you like that, it's much better than we talk about something else do you agree? ❤" After, that he's super soft w/ her 🙈🙊 Love their eyes contact, they have more chemistry than Jon and Daenerys without do nothing intimate lmao 😂
@@marielitellez1529 Hi !! In the UK Vogue's interview (it was for Women's day, there were too Maisie williams (arya) Sophie Tuner ( Sansa) and Lena Headey (Cersei) the journalist asked her "Will Brienne consummating her romantic tension with Jaime or the sympathic Tormund?", somrthing like that and she answered that ! OMG, she teased a lot, but I keep my exceptations low, even I want so much they become CANON, I ship theeeeem 💕💕
I do hope she’s implying that Jaime and Brienne admit their feelings and make love before the end. I saw in an interview that Gwendoline and Nikolaj texted each other on their last episode of S8. The friendship between those two actors is unreal
@@CordeliaDoyle if first just they admitting their loves 😢 or one of them ! I saw this interview too, but I understand like they texted eachothers after read all the script, isn't it ? And now this makes sense, because all their scenes are together 😢❤ ahhhh the feelings
I think Jamie should fill his pages with the absolute truth about his endeavours, good, bad and ugly. It would be the perfect testament to his honourable character - a selfless man who always served others with absolute loyalty.
@@Kristaiskrazy Oh yeah. My bliss lasted for like... 15 seconds. I'm so pissed off at Jaime's change of heart. FU, HBO. And FU, showrunners. Never will I watch again anything that comes from by Benioff & Wess. Bunch of morons.
vers4ria noooooo Jaime has clearly gone to King's Landing to kill Cersei!!! It makes no sense that he'd turn his back on Brienne after all this time. Sadly I think Jaime might die in the process, but I hope Brienne knows he died loving her (or even better, he does survive and returns to her)... there's hope yet!!
For the record I think it would ruin everything if they were physical with each other. There's more respect and tenderness in their silences and spaces than could be recreated in some sweaty sexiness
Maybe it would ruin it if they are SHOWN being overly physical with each other. Nothing wrong with two people obviously smitten with each other getting physical. Here hoping for at least a kiss in S8
How do you make these video/clips. Is there a website or something. Do you download the episode then cut out the clips you want to post? I want to do the same for this show and many other but dont know how.💚
They had such a great, complex dynamic but I really think them sleeping together screwed it up. Should have never gone that route. It was so badly-written and cheapened their strong relationship.
You know what is a finny thing? Catelyn Stark decision war right. Because Jaime helped Brienne and give her everything to find Arya and Sansa. And because of Podryck, Brienne actions Arya get that skill what helped her to kill NightKing. So Jaime was part of Sansa and Arya saving and part of success in batle in Winterfell. Both of them. Black irony that Ice sserved Starks in another form (I know there were two swords from Ice). So s*ck it Tawyn, you still lose.
How is Jaime "Knighting" her not on this list, kind of lame, but it is your list. The fact that he got them cheeks and then hauling ass back to Cersi was so lame and ruined his arc.
Brienne needs to be expecting Jamie’s son and ensure the continuity of the Lannister clan. They were by far the most interesting characters in this show. Maybe she could be expecting twins to make things better; of course minus the incest, to wash the honor of their father. The possibilities are endless
@@aprilpearson6923 As the common saying goes, "the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." Maybe that's just it. Maybe I just see everything uglier than what some people see.
