You are a true teacher Matt. Had I been there in Newzeland would have signed for the course on carving. i love it the way you explain. thank you for all the share. warm regards, Amit
Thanks Matt, only got one of those tools, the best one. Will need to save some pennies for a while. Birthdays etc all used up. Am enjoying the vids. Lots to learn. Thanks
I have a jig saw that will someday be replaced by a band saw. For now I’m looking forward to getting a bench sander next. What’s the finest sandpaper you use on the belt side?
I own 1 out of your 4 lol the other 3 are on my list, I tend to block out using an angle grinder with a shaping disc or flap sander wheels> iTs about using what u got i suppose ehh? thanks for sharing Matt & love the detail you get into your pieces.
Thanks Matt for the guide. I've got 2 out of the 4, i'm not sure how much the scroll saw would be of use as it seems you can't use thicker pieces of wood? I do have a chainsaw (unused!) so it all depends on what you want to carve too. Not that i'd say no to any offers of tools! Happy carving. X
Your correct, the scroll saw is for thinner pieces, I do find it useful for those spoons I made. I also have a recycled wood jewellery business so super handy for those small items. Yeah I am waiting for someone to give me a chainsaw. Cheers
@@MattCarves your bandsaw roughs out just the same as a chainsaw unless youre looking to do larger stuff. I wish I had a shop and a bandsaw, currently I just use the chainsaw outside and make a huge mess. Do you have any issues with the scroll saw climbing on you?
@@chompers11 yeah roughing out with a chainsaw works great as well. Probably the advantage of the band saw is it is more accurate and good for smaller projects. Sorry don't know what you mean by scroll saw climbing up.
@@MattCarves I mixed up a radial arm saw and scroll saw sorry, the radial I've heard can "climb cut" up or something like that, it's different than a bandsaw style cut
its called the little terrier, it fits on the dremel it is super aggressive and pricey. www.kaizenbonsai.com/the-little-terrier-dhtm-the-ultimate-power-carving-tool-for-hobby-rotary-machines
