This is my end of the year video where I list the 10 best places (in my opinion) of the restaurants I have filmed in 2023. Let me know if you tried any of them and what you think about them in the comments.

@@FoodFiend With New Years Eve tomorrow, I thought it'd be the perfect time to choose from one of your places BUT it wasn't as easy as I'd hoped! First, the place downtown is closed on the weekends! Ugh. Then I tried the place in Waipahu; closed! Then the place in Pearl City; closed! I finally decided on the Chinese place in Market City and thankfully they will be open tomorrow so I drove there and placed a party size order of the pork cheeks; looking forward to trying it 🙂

🤙🤙🤙🤙 Great 2023 review. Yi Xin Cafe is my #1 target when I get there in Oct , Mmmm which crab dish will be a difficult choice 🤔 By the way , hope the neighbourhood puts on a good display of fireworks 🎇 for New Year ! I’ve seen YT vids of this and it’s crazy good ! Hundreds of fireworks going off all over the district! Cheers Rod🤙

The diversity, quality, and creativity of food in Hawaii is just unbelievable. Totally agree these mom and pop eateries work so hard so that we can indulge and experience life through food. Aloha Bill! Mahalo for your comments and Neverending support! I don't think I'd go to Vegas. I don't particularly like it. I got my fill in my early 20s and went many times. I don't gamble either. I never understood the idea of eating local food somewhere else. I like to travel to try foods I cannot get at home. Oh yes, that sisig would fill my opu! Laulau & chicken long rice with rice is my go-to! I was eye-balling Max's fried chicken in their serving counter. Miso butterfish is my most favorite fish style with a slightly grill crisp on top. Love the looks of paella--I don't think I've ever had it. I really would agree the #1 choice of the Singaporean restaurant just by looks--i wonder what they add that makes their dishes so unique. What a great year of trying new places and finding great surprises of flavors and choices. It's really amazing how many very local style eateries can be found on Oahu. Hail to the local Mom n Pop shops!!

Aloha Misty!! Oh if someone gave me a Christmas gift card for the Food Company.. I would be happy because there's so much desserts and lunches I wanna try there:) The Monarch Poke looks good and thanks for showing it. And I totally agree with you on Xi Yin Cafe. Every dish we tried was really good and the owner Sue and her husband are so nice!! And yes.. so much diff food from diff cultured to try. Thanks for bringing us along for another year! I still remember going to Arakawas when it was still open in the 80s when I used to visit my cousins in old EWA (Banana Camp) during the summers when it was still populated and not such the "ghost town" it is nowadays.

New viewer here. I think your choice of restaurants is nicely diverse and priced very affordably. I just cannot watch you because I find your repetitive hand gestures to be so redundantly distracting. It’s not a criticism, it’s my sensitivity to unnecessarily distracting behaviors. Otherwise I’d sub but I want to see the foods as you describe them so unfortunately I can’t listen without wanting to view. Sorry, as I said it’s my sensitivity, so my loss, but it’s something for you to think about.
