Hello, my friends! If you want to like, comment, share or subscribe I'll be very happy!
As always, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the friendship and affection you always show me through your visits and comments.
Please, watch the video entirely to help my channel grow!
This is the second part of my beautiful trip to Geneva, Switzerland and in this video you can find other beautiful attractions of the city, which is absolutely livable, on a human scale, full of charm and walkable.
You will walk with me along the left bank to discover the evocative "Jet d'Eau", the best known landmark, which has become the symbol of Geneva, really visible from every point of the city.
Just think that its impressive jet reaches 140 m (459 ft) in height. It is really very impressive to get close and ... to be almost under it, even if you have to think that you will get very wet! But certainly, in summer, this can be really pleasant and refreshing .... I didn't get too close because the season wasn't hot yet.
Continuing the walk, you will see the beautiful Eaux-Vives beach, perfect for relaxing on a summer day and then enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Parc de La Grange, one of the most stunning green areas in Geneva.
And then another very famous symbol of Geneva, "L'Horloge Fleurie", a real "monument" dedicated to the great tradition of Swiss watchmaking.
Born in 1955 and remodeled more modernly in 2002, this very particular attraction is made up of about 12,000 flowers, which are changed regularly following the rhythm of the seasons, has a diameter of 4 m (13 ft) and the second hand is the largest in the world.
A very special and very curious attraction, located right at the beginning of another green area much loved by the Genevans, the "Jardin Anglais", born in 1862, near the lake in a splendid panoramic position, a pedestrian street lively and attractive, full of fountains and statues, among which the "Monument National" dedicated to Helvetia and the Republic of Geneva stands out.
It was wonderful to walk in the elegant area around the beautiful and impressive Museum of Art and History and enjoy the splendid view of the city and the Jet d'Eau, enjoy the tranquility of Ile Rousseau, a small island in the middle of the Rhone dedicated to the great Genevan philosopher and the Ile de Geneve area, with unique views of the river and the city and finally come across the statue dedicated to Frankeinstein, located in the vibrant Plainpalais district.
Another very moving and impactful symbol of Geneva is certainly the "Broken Chair", (1997), the monumental 12 m (39 ft) tall wooden sculpture, known for having one of its legs badly damaged, symbolizing the tragedy of anti-personnel mines.
This permanent installation is located in the largeand and beautiful Place des Nations, right in front of the United Nations headquarters.
Geneva is in fact also known as the "City of Peace", precisely to symbolize its great diplomatic vocation of tolerance and integration.
And then, dear friends, I'm sure you will be as enchanted as I was by the beauty of Lake Geneva, the protagonist of the last part of the video, together with the funny sculptures of the temporary exhibition of "Le Chat" by the Belgian artist Geluck.
I hope you'll enjoy watching this video and that it will be useful for a trip to this beautiful city that leaves many beautiful memories in your eyes and heart.
Have a great time, my friends.
My big embrace and all the very best to you!
Renata
