Like many of your viewers I am one that watches basically all of your videos yet bairly comments under them. I often leave a like if the video was especially nice but merely do I leave a comment. Today I want to leave yet another comment once again as I think that the gratitude for your videos is often now shown enough. I dont know if you will ever read this comment or if it will get lost in the vast amount of comments under this video but I just wanted to let you know that we dont take these videos for granted and that they are very interesting and it is so nice to be apart of this very fascinating journey that you experienced in the Wadi Rum Desert. Thank you for making and sharing this video Philip, just like all the other ones you constistantly make :)
"if you were to be randomly teleported to anywhere in the world right now, you could do alot worse than to choose somewhere in the Wadi Rum desert" If that happens, i'd probably just say that i'm Mark, would be alot easier to explain than being teleported there

With all the wars and politics surrounding the Middle East it's sometimes hard to remember that there are kind and generous people everywhere, despite what some people might tell you.
People judge things they way they are presented. Media tells everyone middle East is a desert with lots of oil,Islam and people fighting everyone with guns. There's always good and bad side, nothing's flawless.
yeah its just a shame that people think 90 percent of the middle east is deserts, oil and people being blown up but if you actually go to many friendly places like Jordan there's a lot of good people that will welcome you

I always pause my adblocker for philip, I always appreciate the ever innovating content. Never stay the same, because you're always good at everything you tackle. I appreciate the sneak peak at elder scrolls 6, truly amazing.
I still come back to this video from time to time. So beautiful and so introspective. Thanks for this, Phillip. You made my dream to visit Wadi Rum someday.
"maybe I could just walk from las vegas to hoover dam" Look, if you wanna do that, just make sure not to pick up any courier jobs. Trust me, they're a real kick in the head.
There's something about your perspective that I just love. You're always so introspective on things, willing to think about the real world and ask questions that might be difficult to answer. In trying to understand the Bedouin people, I think you've elevated this from a tourist trip to a real experience that means something. I really appreciate your videos like this.
Such a humble, kind, and enthusiastic traveller you are, Philip. You give respect to the places you visit, and bring us memories that make us feel as if we were there beside you in the moment. Kudos, you magnificent Storyteller!
You are a beautiful story teller. Please more of this. You make me want to visit these places too, also I always thought that desserts are boring places.
Brings me so many mermoies. I’ve been there last winter, amazing place. It isn’t as touristy in winter. And the temperature is great: hot in the middle of the day and kinda cold in the evening. The dune was one of my favourite places. I ran down at full speed in a steep slope and it was amazing. Unimaginable feeling. Felt like flying. Ypu feel that you are going to fall down, but you just get faster. Tried doing it for a secount time while filming with my phone, but I fell down and it was kinda painful. I also climbed a big rock next to the dune. Wasn’t easy even if i’m a good climber. When you do it you feel like on of the special people who did it. Wadi run and petra are amazing place for not professional climbing. Also because we were the few people of the dune it was much much better than it your video with tens of cars. Nobody bpmay read but i just love writing this because it brings me many memories
Funny thing, You can easily reach that second arch. There's a scramblign route up there. If you don't have good balance, there's places to tie ropes to. If you are okay with balance, its an easy hike up there! The view is amazing!
Your videos absolutely don't get nearly enough attention. These are quality, well thought out, entertaining but *just* educational enough to be interesting while not being boring, videos and I can't stress enough how much I appreciate them. Keep it up!
Extremely beautiful, I adore the geography of the region. Just a stunning place. Battlefield 1's Egyptian maps (aside from the Suez) are highly inspired by the region and it shows, if only more games would be willing to take a chance and go somewhere very exotic like this! Then again, not many gameplay opportunities apart from cars. Mad Max's dried up sea is one of my favourite game worlds of all time and was highly inspired by this too
kliksphilip in the Hammer Edior I have challenged the limits of the source engine as a little boy! I always created a huge platform with a desert texture... I built a skybox on it... and there was my endless desert! Even though the platform was perfectly straight... I imagined ... there could be secrets hidden here! The endless... is usually the mysterious!
Hello my friend, I am Salem from the Wadi Rum desert. I am happy to host you in Wadi Rum and I am happy to host you in our camp rum stars camp Thank you my friend for the information about Wadi Rum🙏🇯🇴🐪☘️👋🏼 Welcome next time
Just got back from Jordan and Wadi Rum was easily the best day. Great country in general and I probably would never have went if I didn't stumble across these videos 👍
I'm not the only one who thought Lawrence of Arabia looks like Phillip? Loving these holiday video diaries mate, strikes me as a fantastic way to save the memories. I've wanted to do it myself for a while but lack the motivation to edit it all together lol Cause I can always do it another time right, and there are video games to be played now
It is not a friendly gesture to gift stuff that you got a compliment for. It is a common mistake that westerners compliment (sadly it means that you want it, so you'll get it) Westerners don't know that you are socially forced to gift it.
The boiling the water with the sugar in it is absolutely true. It's the same thing for Turkish coffee, put all the stuff in the pot before you brew it.
looking at the sun go down: I DONT KNOW WHERE THE WEST IS I dont know philip, where could the west be?! All I know is the sun goes up from the east Good video btw, loved it
0:18 - Dunno if you were inspired of the straight line videos for this lol, but those videos are a good testimony to how a line on Google Maps is WAAAY bigger in reality, and filled with angry Welsh farmers.
I really enjoy your vlogs, almost any of them. If i'm honest now that i dont play csgo anymore, your vlogs are more interesting to me compared to your usual stuff in 3kliksphillip lol
You drink tea in hot places because the Body cools down the hot liquid coming into you stomache. With cold drinks it is the other way round and you dont want to be heated up in a desert
Look at Philip, flexing his too-beautiful-for-your-mortal-eyes girlfriend at the end. Amazing video, did you do post production on night-sky pictures you took? Because they are breathtaking!
Ah yes. Wadi Rum. I was there as well. A great experience, although our sleepibg arrangements were a bit more basic, or, more authentic, to be precise. But, being a train nut, my favorite part was the reenacment of that one time Lawrence of Arabia stopped an Ottoman military train at Wadi Rum station, featuring a steam locomotive. Lovely stuff.
I'm gonna try that sugar trick right now. I'll be back in a few minutes to tell you the results. Back. Have to say, I'm not really feelin' it. Gonna try using a larger dose of sugar next time.
10:09 "unlike Lydia, camels were good for more than just storage space" :o I should always activate the subtitles in your video :) Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really great
Hey Philip, I know you probably won't see this, but I was wondering what music track you used starting around 7:30. If you or another commenter could tell me, that would honestly make my week. Thank you for your amazing videos
Stunning landscape, what a beautiful place. Thanks for the journey. I don't know what the music track was, hoping someone in the comments wrote about it 'cos it was so peaceful.
I just love your voice dude...to me it just sounds like its meant to...explain things :D doesnt matter if its csgo related content or geography, it still makes me feel comfortable and actually focused on what you are saying. Great job!
Talking about the cold water available in the back of the truck, giving you no excuse to be thirsty, is considered a war crime under the geneva accords for someone with an extreme sore throat. Curse you kliksphilip!!!
More than "can I see from here to there and walk from here to there" and then saying "I can do this as well because it's in the same screen", might be more useful to consider the time spent walking that bit and then scaling it to the desired trip and add 30% for possibly more difficult terrain. I feel like that gives a great idea of what kind of a walk it would really be. Like "ha that's only 30 minutes of walking... oh, in that case this is 8 hours".
I've been two times in the desert. Not this one, it was in the Sinai desert. We didn't have cars, instead, we walked between sites and camped outside. Falling asleep while seeing the stars is amazing and the gigantism of the place really feels magical. No lights, no noise or cars... Just the beautiful landscape, amazing people and the stars. It really was an amazing experience and I do recommend it to everyone. It's really a shame that Egypt has this reputation in western countries, it's not this hostile country most people picture in their minds. Same thing for bedouins, they're seen as cultureless homeless people by the rest of egypt because of their simpler lives. I found them very touching, being so happy with what they have, not endlessly seeking for more. They were also very welcoming, really wished I know arab.
You could easily walk from Las Vegas to the Hoover Dam. You'd just have to come prepared with water, snacks, a day to spare and a willingness to feel pretty tired and used up by the end of it.
You know, I have a theory that people dont really visit the landmarks of their own country cuz they think they can whenever they want. I never went to Wadi Rum and im from Jordan. Its as if half the amazement and wonder people get is missing simply because Im from there. Taking it all for granted.
