I have got all of my lures packed and ready for the new trout season. If you want to know what lures I am taking trout fishing with me this season? Then watch on... Filmed with my mobile phone.
When I chasing trout in my younger days, my lure consisted of 3,a silver wobbler, pink and a blue tassi devil, they worked well especially in dams with deep drop offs.
By the way you can also reuse those small sachets of Silica Gel moisture absorbers that come in various items of packaging and put one in the tackle box as an added way to keep moisture down mate :)
Hello again rob Loved this , it reminded me of when I was a young one, and over here our fishing season was from june 16 to March 31.. and while I waited for the new season to open I would rearrange and check everything over in anticipation of that opening day... Fantastic rob, thank you All the very best mate . 😎🏴
Thanks so much Mike. Our trout season opens this Saturday. I'm not sure if I will get out on opening day, but I will definitely be out there next week if I can't get out on Saturday morning.
How funny I have the same waterproof box They are awesome for just taking a few lures out and saving weight on the trout streams 👍🏼 Great selection of lures and plastics, I bet your opening video is a ripper!!! Can't go wrong with having a spinner in the tackle box, I believe the one you are unsure of is a bluefox spinner mate 👍🏼 If not they make ones the same and they are great if you want to use spinners.
G'day Robbie. For some reason I keep all of my hard bodies in their original boxes. But I use a fishing vest. I know which pocket to go for when I'm after a certain lure. Last time I cleaned out the vest I found some unopened sealed bickies and dip packets. Probably been in there 5 months. Ha ha. Can't wait for this season. Hope you're onto them for opening. Good luck.
Something I found that works pretty good on old rusty lures,…soak those old rusty lures and spinners in Coca-Cola soda overnight, it should take most of the dirt and rust away.
I've just upgraded my set up to a Diawa TD Hyper and a Shimano Miravel 1000, restocked on plastics and jigs and a few minnows ready for the season and I've gone and broken my ankle now so I'll miss opening weekend and I'm shattered about it! Love your videos mate and can't wait to see how you go this season!
Thanks so much mate. Bugger about the ankle. I won't be doing a lot of fishing this weekend myself so you're not alone. I have family commitments. I'm hoping to sneak out for a few hours if I can though.
Gday Robbie why don’t you try putting a few of those silicate moisture absorbing packets in your tackle box. They’re in almost all packages these days and are just thrown away. 👍🏻
Have you ever tried the Daiwa Double Clutch range? They're one of my favourite Trout lures, especially in the 60mm size. Have caught a few Brown Trout in the 50-60cm size range on them, they work really well!
@robbiefishing well worth a try mate, I originally used them for Bass and Estuary Perch but have caught plenty of species on them in both the salt and fresh. A really versatile lure to say the least!
Oh gees i tthink where alike im lazy my old lures are rusty ans dirty but gees they work great still. Great hint get yourself some bkf more spray they really Clean rhe lures up worth buying it even cleans the rust off.
Hate it when ya mates knock ya variety especially "why bring plastics for?" then that's what's working ha! the bums strip your stash & your the silly Billy lol..of course they molest the best ones 1st😢😂
Red eyed I could make better ie ccl eyes body stainless or chrome but no hook why Dacron or new line I tested ya could use any hook of jig head pin is the key for stability of lure on. Retrieve. Spinners looks like a nz line of spinner or could be mepps line all hard bodies ya can copy go to aldax company in Melbourne got the lot in gear to get the perfectly finished copied lures any type spoons now that's a hole new level alot of work I have 2 got from estate back in 1975 one of a kind could not find any historical information on the pair only had red tear drop blades on them they had been dipped in a plastic form of coating wax shine finish and are a multi layers oven shape x3. Tip SPRAY INOX ALL OVE LURES LEAVE FOR 25 HRS IN CONTAINER HOOKS AS WELL CLEAN WITH GREEN SCOURED GREEN ONE YA USE IN KITCHEN .IF HOOKS ARE STUFFED FROM RUST REPLACE WITH ASSIST HOOKS BASS ONES YA COULD FIND ANOTHER LURE THAT WORKS BETTER THAN THE BEST WHY ASSIST HOOKS ARE LIGHTER THAN A TREBLE IT CHANGES THE LURES ACTION BY 33%. DO A VIDEO ON THAT ONE.😂. POONTOON BOY HEY.
