The car is officially for sale. I’ll have a video up this weekend going over the ad and car itself. Again, I’ll always have my 2.0 and will continue to make Saab content for you all to enjoy! It’s time for me to move onto to something newer, and I’m sure you all will love it. More details to come on that later…
Bad sign if saab channel guy is selling his saab. Talk about a nightmare trying to get that POS to stay on the road. Its sad autopsy has such a love for these cars and still doesnt want to keep it. That just shows these things are a joke. What a nightmare.. I dont blame you man. I wouldnt keep it either. And ill never buy a saab again. Im gonna pay off mine as fast as i can and take a huge loss. Oh well Its better then having an unreliable shit car. Im sorry saab people to be so blunt negative but I fell in love with my saab and now i realize i am a total idiot. My mechanic ive known for years said people that like saabs have just never experienced something thats actually nice. Lol. Its a sad story because they are beautiful cars. They were too focused on being different then everyone else when they should have focused on being reliable and easy to work on. Maybe they'd still be around
@@aquastu Mine just hit 195kmiles not one major problems other than maintenance and a check engine light from the wrong spark plugs and one not being tightened to spec. I have 5 other friends 3 over 200k miles one at 280k miles. Its a shame you had a bad experience. Maybe the previous owner did something stupid. 🤣
I don't know whether to be jazzed that the TurboX is finally repaired, or bummed that you are looking to replace it. I haven't forgotten how pumped you were to get it. Talk about being conflicted. Whatever the new car might be, it better be a beast! Part of me hopes you're wanting another Miata, but - of course - you're not going to tell us beforehand what it might be. I hope it's not a Honda. At least you'll still have the Arc...... you've been through the ringer with that car - it's pretty much the mascot of this channel. Good luck, boss!
Turbo in my Saab 93 2008 4 cylinder started leaking coolant haven't been able to get it fixed yet so I bought a Suzuki Kizashi driving this until I get myself fixed pretty fun little car
Yeah man that's a tough one. In November the ECU went out on my 2007 Saab 93 2.0T < It's a 60th Anniversary version > and then the car decided to stop recognizing my keys. I still have a 2010 Saab 93 Aero 2.0T Convertible - So I guess I will just use my broke Saab for parts - it's a sad day all around.
I had the same issue, but you don't have to scrap your car for that. Mine (2003 9.3 2.0T) first started having issues like the car would randomly shut off mid-drive (engine only, electrics and everything else was working), then one day it just refused to start, as in it wouldn't even crank anymore. I replaced everything, coils, plugs, Ionisation Module, then finally got a diagnostics guy to come over and he confirmed ECU was reading faulty. It took me 2 Months to find one in a junkyard (I'm from Romania and SAABs aren't exactly common here), installed it, keys wouldn't work. Finally found some guys on a forum in the US that had made something called the T8 Suite, a home-built program that can copy an ECU onto another. So I bought an OBD II cable off eBay, installed this thing on my girlfriend's computer since my work laptop wouldn't allow me to run it, went out and followed the steps in it. It took around an hour, including swapping ECU's in the car, but at the end of it, after 8 Months of sitting in one parking spot, the car cranked and started with a huge smoke cloud. Unfortunately, since it sat so long, I had to put even more money into new pads, discs and wheel hubs, as the original ones were rusted solid and the car sounded like it was grinding gravel on each wheel, but point is, I saved it using a junkyard ECU and that program. Try and google for it before you give up on the car and start scrapping it.
Its much more simple: replace the immobilizer and buy a new key from ORIO. ORIO, not cheap copied chinese junk.Or from a junk yard. This parts will not fit. Use a tech 2 to transmit the new key to the DICE.
CIM is the key issue. Some FB saab club guys will sell you a good used unit with a key, so you can marry it to the car. Keep her going. Worth it to have a bad weather Saab to keep the vert dry and happy.
So glad you finally got the issue with the turbo x fixed 👍 I’m gutted you’re moving on from it 😞 If the car hadn’t given you the issues you’ve had would you be letting it go? Looking forward to what happens next in your car journey!
Well, it looks like you have alot of fun driving your Turbo-X so I guess its replacement will be fun to drive. Hopefully, another Saab if you can find one still on the road😆. I’ve seen a total of 2 near me other then mine. Both looked terrible. Happy Saab hunting!
Time and space don't allow me to list the cars I should have kept over the years. But had I not I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the next one. Best Wishes! P.S. to note a few would be a '62 Impala bubble top 327/350HP, a '69 Dart GT convertible, a '73 TR-6 with OD etc etc etc. All loved, all missed but pictures and stories live on in my heart and mind.
No way! My Turbo-X was down for pretty much all of 2023 and I finally got it back this year and fell back in love with it lol. Still many problems to slowly repair of course..
Geez man, thats a big decision, if I wasnt on my last semester of school I would come buy it from you sell it to someone that will keep you updated on it sick car, I love it, I would tot buy but too busy with school atm to drive there from FL
Dang, bittersweet news on the Turbo X, good to hear you got the shimmy figured out (makes me wonder if the steering rack was the issue on my old 2.0t, and I somehow band-aided it with the strut tower bar). Considering joining the ATS 2.0T sedan/coupe 6spd club? It's a fun time.
There is a white 9000 turbo for sale on craigslist in Richmond VA. I have one already so i don't need it. Anyone wanting a 9000 turbo 5spd, go get it. Those things are hard to come by, obviously.
Sad to see. I wish I could buy and bring the TurboX back to NE, but I'm sure it will sell fast. It sounds also like your next car won't be another Saab, though. We all gotta move on sometimes.☹️
Too bad. The Turbo X is the best Saab ever made. Imagine if GM had allowed Saab to make 4WD cars in the 90's. A second gen 900 with V6 and 4WD would've been a very desirable performance car.
Maybe your going backwards and getting a Viggen or even a Hirsch 9-5? Or maybe a Ice Blue 9-3 sc or ss, iv'e got a sc -08 in Sweden but haven't seen many in US Saab videos ;) Anyway good luck with your find!!
I think you made the correct decision to sell the Turbo X, as it has many, many issues than your Arc .... This is what my Saab Technician told me ! He also told me that to his so many years Saab experience, the best one is 2007 9-3 2.0T Arc which is his daily driving vehicle !
Jacob, thanks for all the context on the 'X', we'll miss it probably as much as you will. Considering what Saabs are going for on BAT, you should definitely get big $$. I remember hearing you say you'd be looking for an older Saab, is that the case?...we'll wait & see I guess😁👍
Steering rack? I have a noise when I go from backing off to forward movement. In my case it's always pulling to the right even after alignment. It seams that i'll have to something similar. In my opinion you should get a Dodge Viper. 😜
Its truly sad to see it go but I do understand your reasoning behind it, I've done the same thing myself. I will however never stop watching your videos, they are always entertaining and we still have the ARC to enjoy. I will even watch your future videos even if the replacement is a Volvo, although I pray its not. ;)
bro ily...but please..anytime...send my your audio so i can clean it up..for freaking free...meaning no more wind noise and you can still hear your voice super clear...not to mention proper compression and limiting your audio will make it easier on your listeners ears! lemme know if youre interested, always happy to help. audio and visuals are my knack
Hello, I told you about the rack at some video before. I'm glad that you fixed it, but i'm a bit sad because of the sell. Its really a unique car and if the circumstances were different probably you have to keep it. I will wait for the next video to hear the reasons of your decision. Cost? spare parts?
