My typical Wednesday (Wednesday Night Skate NYC) City Inline Skating / Rollerblading 

@Blade In NY. Your roller-go pro seems to roll very smoothly and adjust to different positions very nicely. What's the Company, model and where can you buy them? Is the video without bumpiness because of the go pro, or entirely because your camera has great electronic motion stabilization? What brand & model of camera or smart phone is it?

Which would you say is more fun, safe, and overall better for skating in new york : Rollerskates (the 2 in the front and 2 in the bcak) Or rollerblades/ inlines? if rollerblades, which would you say is better for beginners, 3 wheeled or four, and heel stop or without stoppers? I have no clue what to buy, im a beginner and I could really use the help! Thank you!! :)

Well Rollerskates (Quads) will feel much more natural in the beginning and will be easier to learn. As far as urban skating its definitely easier to commute and handle rough pavement in inline skates. Im not a fan of begginers using 3 wheel skates because they tend to be around 100-110mm wheels. This does two things. You roll alot faster, which is speed you may not be ready to handle. They also make you very tall and can be harder to balance in (especially if the boot is unsupportive) And as far as using a break its up to you. If you plan to advance in your skills it kind of pointless because you have to learn how to use a heel brake. Its a skill you have to learn, but it doesn't really transfer to over to more advanced and efficient breaking methods

I think New York City is the only place in America where people are free to be themselves. I didn't knew people still rollerbladed until this video. It's like you have so many things going on there.

Yeah. I've progressed so much. Especially my fitness. Getting into inline has been the best for my health (besides the falling lol) I'm like 30 pounds lighter and alot stronger now.

I'm with you on that haven't touched my skates since I was like 12 or 13 and I'm 24 now. I'm getting back on em as soon as I see if they still fit. I might even bump into these guys at some point if I'm lucky

Yeah I just dropped 400 on gear a few hours ago. Im 34 and havent skated not once since i was 11

Paul Freeman I just broke the skates in. FINALLY!!! My ankle was on fire 🔥 so I couldn’t skate as often. I made a cushion out of that material that is beneath carpets, double socked and made it bearable to skate but not often. I LOVE IT. I picked up extremely quick. My body didnt want to follow my brains commands at first because its been so long and im 120 pounds heavier and taller but after a few risky tries everything started coming back to me. I can say that I have only fallen 4 times in 4 months. I fell all 4 times the first month. I joined a group in the city I life in and was able to go street blading before Coronavirus hit.

@@jenniferg4913 I bought Schwinn Rollerblades. From target, only 40 bucks just to get the feel of it.

I was also born and raised in Astoria. This channel is all about skating NYC Streets. I've skated through every borough in my videos except Staten Island, but every knows they don't count lol. Also this is one of my first videos, check out the later ones too. Thanks

@@Warkid1993 the major group skate season, end at the end of October and don't start again until April. But there's still small groups who continue to skate through out the year

Its Wednesday night skate. A weekly meet up that runs from April to October. We meet at 14st and Union Square at 7:30pm every week

If you're from the NYC area just look up WNS 2.0 and The Empire Skate Club of New York on Facebook, the group skate season is over till next April, a few people still group skate but its a more advance group

They should be fine. Though I mostly recommend hard boots. The macro blades are soft boots. Soft boots may be easier on your feet and more likely to work with your foot shape but in exchange tend to lack support (especially if you're tall and/or heavy)

The 2017 WNS season came to an end, look up "The Empire Skate Club of New York" on Facebook. They have a TNS (Tuesday Night Skate) which runs year round, weather permitting and other group skate events

Yeah. We just started up again. It was delayed due to covid. You can look up Wednesday Night skate 2.0 on Facebook or Instagram. They might also have a website too.

Just come join us one Wednesday. Its over for this year and doesn't start up again until April. But from there on we meet every Wednesday at 730pm at 14 union square. See you there next year

If you're on facebook or Instagram and are interested in aggressive you can look up the "NYC street skate" on IG and Facebook and you can also look up "NYC rollers" on facebook. We have a very active aggressive skating community and they are friendly and helpful.

Yes we do, but the WNS season is about to end for this year. Next Wednesday is the last session of the year. It starts again next year in April. We meet every Wednesday at 7:30pm at 14st and union square in Manhattan.
