Let's face it - not a great loss. Most people playing Atraxa want the card advantage, not the 7/7 (but it's a nice plus if you get it, especially for 5 mana).
So atraxas value isn't her body it's her etb yeah they removed that atraxa but what about the 6 other cards she just nabbed you off her etb.... that said I'd strongly recommend that anyone playing this deck or any deck running atraxa run at least one copy of flesh gorger and a copy of collosal sky turtle so atraxa cares about super types since the turtle is an enchantment and flesh gorgers an artifact and when you cast atraxa you could theoretically get 3 creatures with this line up of creature... also the turtle has unsummon and recycle built into it which makes it great in this kind of deck.
That's because you have to answer it immediately or you're screwed. Either you counter it, blow it up, or you lose. The card advantage it provides means the 3-turn clock it puts most players on is a problem, and even one attack with it basically ruins any aggressive deck's chances of winning by gaining you 7 life. Everyone talks about the card advantage; yeah that's the most important part, but without the ridiculous body and keywords it's just another draw spell and those aren't what close out games. Usually.
I think it's the first time in my life I see a control deck opponent conceding with 4 open mana, 7 cards in hand, 2 of which were selected with a memory deluge and an empty board
In match 8 you could have used vault during your turn - that way you would know that untapped Eiganjo is comming, so you could have played untapped Sundown Pass instead of Triome to Lay Down Arms one of creatures and still reanimate Atraxa on turn 4.
You appeared on my page, I have never played MTG but i do know the cards and i do like to read the lore of the world. You putting cards on screen that you are explaining is a godsend. Makes it really captivating to watch your videos.
I don't really like Atraxa in standard. But do you know what I dislike more? Red aggro. That turn 4 was beautiful in the first game. I could almost imagine the life draining from their eyes as they realized all hope is gone. Rest in piss, you won't be missed
I could really use your help. I LOVE this deck. I've continued to update the list. I took it to a RCQ yesterday ended up finishing rank 9 (sigh). I fumbled round 3. I had the win. Everything went down hill from there. Here is my list: 3 Get Lost 4 Collector's Vault 3 Touch The Spirit Realm 4 Depopulate 3 Big Score 2 Abuelo's Awakening 4 Invoke Justice 4 Leyline Binding 1 Etali, Primal Conqueror 3 Atraxa, Grand Unifier 3 One with the multiverse 1 Cityscape Leveler 2 Portal to Phyrexia 1 Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire 7 Plains 1 Mountain 4 Battlefield Forge 4 Raffine's Tower 4 Jetmir's Garden 2 Spara's Headquarters 1 Mirrex SB 4 Lay Down Arms 4 Ossification 2 Farwell 1 Sunfall 3 Sunset Revelry 1 Knockout Blow The Get Lost are get answers to everything. I didn't like Lay Down Arms due to it exiling the creature. With a Portal to Phyrexia I want creatures in my opponents deck. Depopulates are an absolute must. There is no way to claw back if decks are going wide on you. Humans and Dinos are crippled after a good Depopulate. I'm looking forward to "No Witnesses" in the new set. The Touch the spirit realm are to counter board wipes. I kept getting blown out by sunfall after landing an Atraxa. If I know they have a board wipe I'll always leave two mana up to channel the Touch. The Abuelo's is a one less mana vs the Repair and Recharge. Plus late game you can make your artifact / enchantment a big ol boy. I added an Etali to have another threat in the deck. Plus, it can hit pretty big things with this deck. And it's always fun to see what you get from your opponent's deck. I was running Sunset Revelry main board and I found a lot of times there wasn't a good time to cast it. I would have rather had a Get Lost for removal. The Sundown Pass was no good. There were multiple games where I'm stuck with a turn two Sundown slowing down the game plan. I also found the Battlefields great for pinging yourself when casting Sunset. It gave you a way to get 3 life points plus having and untapped red/white source. I tossed in 1 Mirrex because of the blue white control. A lot of the times keeping a creature available for an invoke plus four counter pump was great. I faced Domain three times and had long games but all of them were a win imo (except my mistake). I faced a Dino deck. It couldn't hang and I faced the bant Poison deck. That Poison deck I had problems with. The crawling corpse come back after a board wipe. I boarded in Lay Down Arms for those. What would be your suggestions on Sideboard? What do you think would be good against the poison deck? Also for mono red what would be your suggestions? I would love to have you try this updated version out and see what you think.
I've played your azorius reanimator deck for months and now this evolved version of it?! Amazing! The Vault idea is GENIUS! Tricky mana base as well, you're so good!
would be great if it would work like in these videos. Reality is something else , a decent hand and i mean decent not good not perfect is happening almost never , i give it a 25% of chance to be generous... the rest is gonna be one of the following : mana screw, you gotta mulligan 2 or 3 times, none of the key cards, the opponent run the perfect counter deck. Sad to say but they reduce an amazing game like Magic into a dumb slot machine which doesn´t care if you make a balance deck in order to be able to draw the right cards ( that´s why we put 4 copies of those we wanna draw right?). How many times happens to you that instead of the 4 copies cards you gonna draw the entire game the 1 copy ones? Anyways great deck , GG bro and sorry if what i just wrote sound sassy, nothing personal trust me, i´m just done with this nonsense.
Watching brain-dead mono red players scoop as soon as Atraxa comes in is a beautiful thing, as is getting burned down to under 5 HP by same decks and calmly turning it around for victory :D
This seems really awful against any archetype that isn't creature focused... all this work to essentially get Portal to Phyrexia out... which does nothing against non creature decks, and control decks have no issue dealing with Atraxa lol. Dunno, seems like a pretty bad deck to me.
I really enjoy watching you do degenerate things that make your opponents scoop. Would love to see a sideboard in action for this deck. Any chance we'll ever see some BO3 on the channel?
Never seen opponents this salty even when I am losing the game they get salty and rope. Not single game out of 10 games did opponent play normally without timing out and losing or at least roping each activation and each turn once the vault gets down.
Vault in a mono-greed Teething Werm deck. Try it. Great card advantage and constantly pumps your wormlet with ramp. People are sleeping on this card, but I think its one of the best uncommons of this set.
Aww damnit. Im marginally sad I wasted my wildcards on that R/G Virtue basic ramp deck you demonstrated before. I ran that "Risky Reanimator" deck for ages.
played a orzhov reanimator deck using the vault I saw on you tube as well - using the treasure to ramp on turn 4 just begs to combo it with one of the many 5 mana reanimation spells
Nothing I like more than reanimating a lovely One With The Multiverse. Though I believe Campus Renovation would have been better here than the eventual upside of both Repair and Recharge and Invoke Justice(though the latter is debatable).
Being able to also get back creatures is why Invoke is by far the most reliable option. Campus Renovation can be a little awkward when it exiles expensive spells that we can't cast or loot away, but it's good if it hits some of our cheaper cards.
LVD is particularly good at brewing these in current Standard! While I enjoy the theme, you don’t really need to watch the matches to see how these matches will go. Maybe BO3 would introduce some spice 🌶️
@@SeppukuDoll Yep.I typed this comment and just simply clicked off the video, then got 3 notifications from some lame Atraxa mains seething at me like ghouls
Goes over the strengths of the deck but doesn’t go over any of the blatant weaknesses - too threat light for my tastes just atraxa and hoping the opponent brought creatures. Any control deck slaps this into oblivion
Poison is waaay to fucking powerful nowadays. I can't count how many poison decks I got up against and lose to. Poison count win needs to be adjusted to 20 and there needs to be cards that you can play that remove poison counters,
