You do KNOW what you do for so many of us? Every time you say "Scoliosis" I tear up and are happy because I love you so much (and your family), and I have "Scoliosis". And EDS, and Arthritis, and I have a happy family also. This week my husband took off work (he has been working from home), but every day we took a small walk some where near home. We looked at the leaves changing, and ate food we like, and it was just the two of us. But the two of us focused on each other. It was possibly the best vacation we've ever had in over 40 years of marriage....because it's about being together. Even with all the pain and scoliosis!

When I first started watching Jessica I would regularly tear up as her hair plus the shape of her brows and eyes would often remind me so much up my mom and I don't usually come across people I can see similarities to her in. For a long time due to issues around her death I couldn't picture my mom without seeing her as she was at the end. But seeing the similarities and comparing helped me reset my brain to remember her happy and smiling with her hair long and curled as she preferred. Like Jessica she just didn't feel right without curls. Unlike Jessica she didn't have the patience for rollers so got perms all the time. I got so frustrated as a teen with how we didn't look at all alike that I got one too lol.

0:53- my grandma had a similar problem of not being able to fully bend down to pick things up after her cancer was removed followed by a serious amount of chemo therapy. She used what the litter pickers use to pick up litter, like this weird grabby thing. Surprisingly it was very good and could even manage to pick up some heavier stuff or awkward shaped stuff, it could be helpful for you too for the days when touching the floor is not doable.

If anyone is looking for more options for body wipes, there are different brands that market to Beauty, Health Care, and even Camping. My parents just got back from a giant trip visiting the US National Parks, and their camping supply store had plenty of giant body wipes for their trip.

Traditional curling irons are dangerous but my mom’s special curling/straightening iron has SUCH a learning curve! I really like rollers because they make me feel feminine. In a GOOD way. Recommendation for those who still want to use flannels instead of wet wipes for bed baths (this really only works if you have a little assistance to set up): have someone roll up a towel and place one on each side of your torso. This way whilst you wash your tummy, boobs, arms and chest, any drips that roll off of you go onto the towel rather than the bed. Do the same when you wash your groin; have them roll a towel and place it between your legs. When washing face, place it under your neck if you can. This way you can still have a nice, warm "bath" with a hot flannel. I just find it more refreshing than a wet-wipe bath, personally. It also helps if you have someone really wring out the flannels for you if you're unable to manage that.

If your dumb Im dumb as my first thought was also "they save the guest bed as their better bed." Though, my assumption wasn't based on history but on anecdotal evidence that this is a thing some people still do. I know a couple people who get a bit nutty about making sure guests are comfortable and having a properly put together guest room. Though, thinking about it, given how rarely some people can afford to or think to replace their mattress, and since the guest one probably gets less use, I wonder if a bunch wouldn't discover it is the better mattress if they gave it a shot.

You still show your son such love, that you are able to hold him, WOW!!!!! Gosh, the kind of courage that you demonstrate and I demonstrate and that perhaps millions and billions of us human beings carry out every day to little fanfare, far outpaces those "Marathon runners" and Mount Everest climbers that have hoards of cheering onlookers. I am pausing at 1 minute and 47 seconds of a 10 minute and 53 second video just to say your house is beautiful. I love the backyard I love the windows and the doors I love the brightness that it carries, I'm pretty sure that's more because of the love in the home then the paint. I love the windows and how they just easily glide open when you push the curtains back I love everything about your home that I've seen and one minute and 47 seconds. Now I will resume and I will probably say something later when I'm done. ❤️❤️❤️

Ooooh, the pain keeping you from falling asleep- oof. You have my sympathies. Love to see you back to getting up to get tea and changing the boy and taking care of yourself in less do-or-die, more fell-good ways. You look wonderful! And congrats on not stubbornly trying for ten minutes to grab the things that had fallen on the floor at breakfast time- I know I've been known to do that way too much.

I'm curious whether the bending down and standing back upright causes POTS dizziness for you. I was kind of amazed to see you doing those things because my POTS usually reminds me I should not have done that.

This is 4 hours later and I am hopping back on to say I just finished your video because I fell asleep Jessica why is your voice so soothing I have been in a manic episode for the past 3 weeks unable to sleep and if I would have just came to your page sooner I would not look like death warmed over falling asleep to your smiling face on my cell phone. God bless you you are a treasure we need to protect Jessica and her family at all costs ❤️❤️❤️

I needed this. I needed a Jessica video. Just got in an argument online I was not at all expecting with a jerk who refused to believe this treatment they loved and found useful wasn't actually terribly accessible and not too useful to a lot of people for a lot of reasons. I said its great for those it works for but we need more options. They insisted that no, it works, you just have to make it work for you. So I explained some of the issues generally, and again they insisted it could just be done. So I went into specific examples and they went on insisting anyone could make it work without countering the examples I gave for why they obviously couldn't (you have to go to the treatment and not everyone can leave the house or get rides were two examples). They just said yet again that anyone can but not how it is so. (How does someone who physically cant leave the house "make it work for them" when it requires leaving!) They then threw in something about me and any naysayers just not knowing what we are talking about. It left me so damn frustrated then the frustration fermented into anger and tears. How hard is it to get that people are different and have different needs! That someone can have more than one problem causing one or more to hinder in dealing with the other. Then the attitude of "it worked for me so I can speak for everyone" attitude. And worse is the "if they cant make it work they are at fault" sentiment, rather than trying to figure out how to make things more accessible! Gah! Anyway, yes I was upset and I needed to come here to be reminded that some people get it. Plus I got hits of happiness from Jessica beging able to get around, puppers, seeing the problem problem solving and figuring out what works for the baby, Jessica humor, and casual normalizing disability and injury content. This channel is my good place. The videos and comments don't always manage to make me happy but they always leave me on the whole with a better outlook on the world. P.S. I very much appreciated the baby wipe segment. There is a lot of shame and stigma around cleanliness and how one gets themselves clean. Its good for people to hear that a baby wipe bath is just fine especially if it saved you much needed energy. Likewise so are sponge baths, having someone help you bathe, shower chair, grab bars, and anything else that helps. I have seen people become so upset by needing these things, even just temporarily, and it breaks my heart. So my sincerest thanks to any content that reinforces that it is a perfectly reasonable thing!
