Fr. Szymon Karol Sorbian, 31, Archdiocese of Toronto, was born in Toronto, brought up in a loving family with a younger sister, and received the faith early on. Before entering seminary, he studied Chemistry and Health Sciences at the University of Toronto. During this time, there were priests and religious who were family friends that intrigued him and got him thinking about a vocation to the priesthood. After graduating from university, he worked at a corporate office downtown, and that was where his vocational discernment became serious. Being torn internally between his ideas of success and fulfillment and the idea of a vocation to the priesthood, Szymon decided to join the Associate's (Discernment) Program with the Office of Vocations to discern this unrest. During this period, it became clear that he felt a strong call to the priesthood and eventually decided to apply. He looks forward to serving the people of God in the Archdiocese of Toronto and is grateful for all the love and support he has received through the formation journey.
