Been watching nana progress since she came over ..from roll in ramps to broken elbows She attacks the trick a lot more aggressively than before ...shes a skater damn it 😀
As Andy Anderson would put it, she's too much in the "back seat." She's positioning her body towards the back of the board before the ollie, which is why she's landing on the tail. If she positions her body towards the front, she'll stay over the board during the flip and land on the trucks. That's just my unsolicited armchair advice! So exciting seeing Nana progress!
While true at first glance, you actually_ have_ to start in the back seat position quite a bit. Or you just won't get a good enough pop going. Any ollie actually starts the exact same way. The difference is, it is easier to remain over the board as you front foot stays in contact most of if not all the time. She can land a rocket kickflip probably by crouching down during landing. But it's not so easy. Landing too tail heavy is a recipe for a wipe-out, but being too far forward or centre over the board, will make the pop part much harder. For a beginner, landing a rocket flip is much easier than landing a perfectly balanced kickflip. It's just not going to be like that. And regardless, you'd still crouch down in landing, which should allow to compensate for being tail heavy.
Practice flipping the board and Landing it with one foot first than once you're comfortable with the flip jump with both feet kick out your foot and bring it back
What she is doing is the wrong way of doing a kickflip. Actually around my home city we would call this a kick down. Because she is not popping the skate, and that's why it looks like this. Still a good practice but she should practice her hollies before going for a kickflip

A lot of pro skaters kick down when they do nollie kickflips and why a kick down, when the board flips when she kicks it. It's not practicing the Ollie but how she positions her foot to kickflip
I'm dyslexic and have dyspraxia effect speech and balance IV skated on and off for years IV only just managed to spin a varial I had no problems doing a kick flip
@evergreen prospectors I could never Trey flips I can just barley spin a verial I'm getting closer to spinning it every time soon I'll comit to trying to land it IV skated on and for years I started when I was 12 or 13 now 34 when I stopped and started again I was better at skating than when I stopped lol
@evergreen prospectors ah wicked I have like UK size 6 feet I wanted a slick deck and thought I want to do flips or learn them so I got an enjoi 7.75 complete 53mm wheel rated 83a abec 5 bearing tensor trucks wheel base is like 13.1 turns out it's a little to small the width is perfect I not long realised if bent the trucks lol ended up buying a build your own Andrew brophy gsse 8 slick deck wheel base 14 something sushi abec 7 bearing thunder bolts with gold element all terrain wheels I think there 53mm with I didn't realize I needed a spacer turns out the enjoi board complete didn't have spacer either haha venture low trucks 5.25 the enjoi has razer tail pretty bad and I have never really razor tailed a board ever it's about half way and turns out the enjoi wasn't even a slick deck it's the glue they was on about so least I have 2 pretty good set ups that's good you daughters are into it
Nice!!! I've been pro on and off for years and it's great more women are getting into it! I've also done trick tip videos and lessons! Congrats to her!

I dont know if its nostalgic or being a skater has made me want to support anyone skating at any level. But watching people learn kickflips and their reactions is priceless
This is very nice progress!! I would love to see her try with her toes hidding the bottom left screw from the front truck!! When my little cousin showed me this trick i went from similar kickflips as she is doing, to the best kickflips i’ve ever done from the 10th try~!! Always nice to see girls getting into skating :) it is realy refreshing! We can see how hard she is trying :) keep it up!

She's going rocket. If she flicks more toward the nose than what she is, I think it'll be less scary and she will land. She should definitely aim for the boots though or the board will slip out. Idk what's so sketch about giving advice to spread your feet when landing.
true, also jump towards the nose more since the board is flicking away from her she has to jump towards the board and she'll land further up instead of on the tail. I think flicking down instead of out will also result in better landing since it will prevent it flicking away from her
She's got great pop on that board! I hope her shins aren't too busted up. Perhaps get Aaron Kyro to do an analysis of her kickflip. Revive Skateboards rock!
I remember it took me a good year to learn kf, i finally got it when i made it a point to get my front foot back on the board as fast as i could. And then i landed an underflip for my first one lmao
Moving helps like I’m not being sarcastic speed helps the board flip faster and when you kick the board slightly moves forward hence why she’s always landing on the tail moving will fix this
She’s making it harder than it should be, she ain’t landing because she’s basically kicking the board away from her with that stance. And for the people complaining about others explaining how it should be done, dude it’s skating, these tricks essentially have been set in stone, the only change you can make is mixups and style.
