My Wife Suffers Through Monster Hunter World 

Its ok! We all suck at first. Its part of the process. You eventually pick uo on the monsters habits and moves as well as the controls and timings for your weapon of choice. Monster hunter is NOT for the weak😂 SHES GOT THIS!

You could fill a book with all the dumb shit I did when I first played this game. Here’s some of the main things: I forgot about sharpness and didn’t use a whetstone for the entire base game. I never figured out how to get maxed out health until Nergigante. I did not use the cantina until Fulgur Anjanath. I was using high rank equipment in Iceborne until Velkhana because the layered armor for some reason kept me from forging more and I couldn’t figure out how to take it off. I tried using the charge blade for the first time against a Diablos. I’ve been a hammer main ever since that quest.

I just stumbled across this and it’s important to struggle with the game at first! You’re supposed to, it’s why it feels so damn good later. Would love to see more!!

No worries. Ranged weapons are mostly harder than others to start with due to them being costly for Phials/Ammos. Not to mention the Bow is a stamina hog. A bit of stamina management and being less greedy with taking shots helps alot. Also, running circles around the monster to figure their moveset will serve in noticing when monsters are open for attacks. Failing is normal. When you fail you gain knowledge and repeat mistakes less. Keep at it, you got potential. I main the Bow and can assure you that you just need to know how the monster ticks and you will prevail!

Your wife's decision reminded me fondly of my friends who looked at me like I was crazy when I chose HH and went with it. 😂The weapon was love at first sight for me and I still main it today. We all suck at the beginning and it's okay! Cheering you both on! 🎉🎉🎉

It's all just practice, the more you fight a monster the more you get to learn how it moves. If you spend enough time fighting one you can almost read its mind. And the moves for your weapon are the same, it just takes some time and patience to get everything memorized and learned. Keep at it! Given enough time and practice you'll take down Pukei-Pukei!

The button mashing is real.

I think she just needs to practice in a the training area a bit. I don't think I've seen her do the quick shot or the sidestep charge yet.

Definitely keep going! like a lot of the comments, we all were just fresh hunters! This was my first monster hunter game, and Anjanath gave me a run for my money. But I got better and can kill them no problem! You got this! I'd love to see more

Im not a pro but if I might offer a little advice, the belly flop actually has hella I frames and is god tier to avoid an attack. Also while on the ground you have more I frames trying to get up while being attacked only gets you hurt more. Don’t spam shots instead back off so you can watch the monsters movements and dodge it then trade attacks. It’s a hunt not a race if you beat the monster in 5 or 45 minutes you get the same rewards save the big attacks for when it’s flinched or stunned winding up only to get smacked is a habit to fix early because later a lot of monsters can 1 shot you. Happy hunting friends.

Did you show her the target camera? A lot of the time when she's getting hit, it seems to be because she's got trouble keeping sights on the monster.

I love how in the first video she runs away from the small Jagras, but then against the anjanath she's all brave and wanting to fight it 😂

It's not necessarily that she sucks, but also that she picked one of the more advanced weapons to play lol Like, to pick up the bow and use it effectively, you'd need stamina management and knowing how and when to dodge... Two things that I don't expect newbies to know how to do lol

Make her play Monster Hunter Stories. I'm sure she'll love not having to kill the monsters and instead make friends with them.

The best part about this game is there really isn't 'failure'. You can always try again, and it always feel like you get better each time. You can also just go exploring the area and kill other things to upgrade your armor or make things for your Palico.

please tell them more about items and get them some herbal medicine. i also hope they know they can re-eat in missions and can use meat to increase max stamina because bows are really going to want stamina

The only thing she needs is to train with the bow, a lot of people dont pick it because they like being up close and personal with a monster so its unique she just needs practice and a basic understanding of the bow
