Additional Details: - There was supposed to be a love interest in Sanford for Angel, but they decided to scrap the character, and instead gave the lines to Danny. - Angel's girlfriend Janine was portrayed by Cate Blanchett, probably the biggest name in the movie, and they have her in a cleansuit with a full mask. - Moulin Rouge guy is also Professor Horace Slughorn, the Potionsmaster in Half-Blood Prince. - As you've already figured out, yes, Timothy Dalton is indeed a James Bond. - The man dressed as Father Christmas stabbing Angel is actually Peter Jackson, the famous director. - The Chief Inspector that kicks Angel out to Sanford is the actor that portrays Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Between this and the other two, Hot Fuzz is hands down my favourite of the trilogy and Im a big fan of Horror and Sci-Fi. But the mystery and the amount of detail that went into this film is insane. There's easter eggs and background info that build up and set up so much of what happens here its amazing and makes viewing this multiple times so worth it. If any of the three films in the Cornetto Trilogy deserved a sequel more, its this one for sure. Probably one of my favourite films ever made.

The editing in this film is top notch In the UK so many students applied for policing because of this film. Even Simon Pegg did Police training for this. Timothy Dalton was James Bond in License to Kill and The Living Daylights. One detail I like is when Simon Skinners drives by, the songs he plays relate to the characters deaths.
@harrymillar4193
@harrymillar4193 Год назад
The whole joke is that Simon Skinners is so obviously the bad guy that it’s couldn’t have even been a red herring, he is just straight up the bad guy. It was less about ‘who is the criminal’ and more ‘how is he doing it?’ Seriously, if anyone ever doubted who it was after he shows up at the actor’s car crash, they probably have IQs in the single digits

Even more ironic is that you've insulted others intelligence for not getting it 🤦‍♂️.
@harrymillar4193
@harrymillar4193 11 месяцев назад
@@TheycallmeMrWonka No, the plot twist is that everyone is in on it with the second plot twist being that all these murders happened for absurdly petty reasons. I didn’t insult others intelligence; it’s easy to think that it’s going to be a rug pull where it turns out that it is all just a massive coincidence, which would have been humourous as well, but that car scene shows that he has an impossible amount of knowledge and that he is blatently involved. That’s how SGT Angel (and Jen) figure out exactly what happened the second after Danny says, ‘it’s just the one killer actually’. Hot Fuzz is a masterclass in film making. Writing, directing, acting, editing, cast everything is of the highest quality. It deserves multiple rewatches because there is so much small details missed on first watch. Every set up and pay off with the foreshadowing is perfection. Along with a huge cast with the likes of James Bond, Davy Jones, Galadriel and Dr. René Belloq. (Timothy Dalton, Bill Nighy, Cate Blanchett and Paul Freeman) Plus Peter Jackson as Santa. Om top of that only took 18 month to write and an astonishing 4 weeks to shoot. Does not get better than this. Can't wait for World's End.

This is one of those movies my friends and I consider a perfect movie. The jokes, the editing, the pacing, the twists, all land for us. I still find new things with it as I watch it even now, 16 years after it came out. While watching your reaction here, I realized the the Chief Inspector in London (Bill Nighy) has the same thought process as Butterman (Jim Broadbent) in Sanford, that he can just make people disappear. However, in the end Nighy's character comes to get Nicholas, realizing he made a mistake before he went too far. Broadbent's character already went too far and just kept going, not learning from his own mistake.

The editing was hilarious. I remember the last time I accidentally cut myself and subscribe buttons just flew out of my hand.

The only wholesome gaslighting I’ve ever seen is Holden encouraging the progress of the British accent. But I can also really tell there’s been a noticeable improvement (😉)

I love how Bill Nighy hisses a little after saying "yes i can, i'm the chief inspector"

The fence bit "shortcut" is hilarious. In Shaun of the Dead he does the same thing but falls.

Oh YES! Oh no..... direct hit to the kidneys, it didn't land with her. It's Matt all over again (ok, not exactly, but). Well, it's not for everyone I guess. I really think Jen was just giving us a pity 7 here. She could sense a lower score would simply wreck Holden (and us). This is a top 10, possibly top 5 all time for me. 9.7 - solidly. I rewatch this with glee anytime it's on, anytime anyone on youtube reacts to it, even reactors I've never heard of, it's an instant click & view.

The old man who was hosting the NWA meetings and was obsessed with the living statue was Edward Woodward, who was the original 'Equalizer' when it was a 1980s tv series. His character had the same name as Denzel Washington in the Equalizer movies, Robert McCall. He was married to a well-known British tv comedy actress until he died in 2009.

Love that whole sequence of shots showing Nick travels on the metro then train, telling a lot of travel time in a very snappy set of shots. Rather than a single long shot of, for example, Nick staring out the window on the train as the city gives way to countryside or something. Fast, simple, entertaining.

Been to Wells, Somerset where this was filmed and it literally feels like I was walking around a movie set…because I was. One of my favourite films of all time. Me and the missus watched it again while we were there.

I loved the supporting cast in this film. One major one for me was David Threlfall as the actor/director as he was phenomenal in the 80's production of The Life and Times of Nicholas Nickleby as Smike. There's also the main heavy from Raiders of the Lost Ark as the priest/vicar, TV's The Equalizer, and the devilish nanny from the original The Omen for starters. Timothy Dalton is simply wonderful here as well. His "This really hurts. I'm going to need some ice cream" after his gruesome impalement was writer/director/actor perfect. This was an excellent, brilliant and tight script. I couldn't wait to see your reactions to it.

An Edgar Wright film I know you'd love Jen is Baby Driver. If you haven't seen that movie yet, may be a good one to take a look at. Not a comedy really, more of a drama, thriller, romance, but really good and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) is also in it

Jen noticing the chief was Zidler from Moulin Rouge was quite funny since Baz Luhrmann directed that and he also directed Romeo + Juliet which they turned into a play to make fun of in this movie.
