@@Erossssssss I feel like that’s looking at it the wrong way, though. The Feed Inc Savings Bond was a necessary component to give NL the cash flow to make the Vampire Merger work. It would’ve dropped him to like 40 max hp otherwise
@williammitchell6254 It was probably the right decision for NL lol I'm not arguing that. I don't think he has the mentals to beat that fight. We've seen him struggle with one spiker in the past

I WAS LITERALLY SCREAMING INSIDE WHEN I SAW THAT LMFAOAOAO. Would've doubled his chances of getting either a feed or ritual dagger off. Plus, once the ritual dagger has scaled, would be a perfect target for exhume too for massive damage + synergizes so well with the spoon like you mention. I WAS GOING NUTS
@JeSuisGrand I understand that, but still using the limit break with 3 strength achieves the same goal as he could bring it back or it might not even exhaust

@@MrIljuha2000 Runic Pyramid makes it so "you no longer discard your hand" not that "you Retain your hand", which means that Establishment has fuck-all effect on the cards kept by Runic Pyramid.
The spikers fight is a perfect example of how you can’t be scared to take bits and pieces of damage sometimes. Avoiding killing the spiker out of fear of taking a bit of damage led to more than one turn where taking large chunks of damage became mandatory
Has Spot Weakness and Limit Break, complains about not doing enough damage for the entire run, ignores Heavy Blade (twice) and Ritual Dagger, takes Bludgeon instead. Never change, NL
In his defense, Heavy Blade is a trash tier card. Too expensive, trash damage without strength scaling, only decent when upgraded. Meanwhile, Sword Boomerang has none of those problems.

I would be happy if slay the spire was the new isaac as a semi permanant series where NL could just solo banter for 40ish minutes, the solo banter has a different je nais se quoi. but i also get that the majority of people would not consistently watch NL play slay the spire for multiple years like isaac
He should record StS, then switch game footage to someone else playing deadlock or whatever is the most requested on stream, and keep only his headcam and sound.
Northerlion preferably you want to fight 2 elites and go to 2 campfires (not counting the last campfire) on floor 1. You also wanna aim for adding 8 cards before the first boss.
Since NL is talking about lessons, from the Ass1 run I would say the lesson to take is don't play Warcry to remove an unwanted card from your hand before playing other draw, because then you just draw the bad card again. Happened several times. Yes, yes, no need to comment that he doesn't read this.
Lessons from this run is just a big yikes. Keeping it short I'd say why remove a strike when you have perfected strike? Cut a defend instead. Going bites was pretty questionable, you'd need to heal less if you could kill stuff faster. Why skip heavy blade (twice!) while building strength? Finally, use bash more when you have Paper Phrog!
I feel like outside of the strength boosting cards I'm not sure what Ironclad cards are truly good, I'm on Ascension 7, would love some tips :3 Edit: My wins so far has come from Strength runs and HP loss synergizes like Combust and the card that gives strength when you lost HP from a card
Ironclad is such a great character but the mindset is more difficult to grasp imo. The idea exhaust=good is the difficult part for me. Been stuck on ascension 15 for a few weeks now.
