My yearly batch of fire cider is complete! This sweet, tangy, and spicy concoction is an easy way to boost natural health processes, stimulate digestion, and raise your internal thermostat on cold days. It's particularly great for clearing things out like congestion and just keeping your body in tip-top shape.
My recipe tends to change from year to year depending on the availability of certain ingredients. Today, I used ginger, red onion, oranges, garlic, jalapeños, fresh Sage, thyme, and Rosemary, as well as peppercorns, turmeric powder, and of course organic apple cider vinegar.
This will sit for about 4-6 weeks, then I'll strain this off and add raw honey. This is great to take daily by the tablespoon straight or added to a bit of water. This isn't recommended for those who have acid reflux or stomach ulcers.
