That’s what incredible and excellent vocalist do when they are back up singers. You’re absolutely right. But Miles has respect for David and will not try to dominate the performance. This is one of the greatest songs of all time and these two guys try to replicate it.
Powerful stuff indeed. As an oldtimer that grew up on Simon and Garfunkel and grew up in a family of silence this song has always had special meaning to me. Dave and Myles do incredible justice to a song that speaks volumes about the human condition. Thanks guys for bringing it to a new generation.
Oh my god. As someone old enough to know the first version, but young enough to know these bands, I'm emmer effin speechless by this version. My heart is beating out of my chest right now.
You know I'd never thought I'd see Simon and Garfunkel get back on a stage together, but what was more surprising was how they'd both really taken to the metal scene. Might be the best shape they've been in in decades.
It is unbelievable to me how two very stark but distinct vocal talents as David Draiman and Myles Kennedy. Very unbelievable how they can be so different but go so perfect together. I would pay to see them duo together like Simon and Garfunkel did. Made me cry tears of joy. Wish I was there live.
@@takeoffyourblinkers A) Myles is harmonizing with David, not trying to compete with him. B) Myles is extremely humble, he probably didn't want to sing louder than David, cause well, it's Disturbed's cover, Myles is just a guest.
….😶and here : I thought disturbed’s version couldn’t get any better. ENTER MYLES KENNEDY ! 👏👏👏👏😎 holy shit that was excellent. Myles is a rapier to David’s broadsword…. Wonderful pairing.
But, Dave's ego wouldn't allow the harmonies to blend he had to cover Myles talent. Shame. Now go listen to Myles pay tribute to Jeff Buckley with vocal composure and subtle mastery he performs Hallelujah. Artistic whispers... sigh.
Myles is such a chameleon. He is a great lead vocal and can blend his voice with any of these big names to make a dynamic sound. David is amazing with singing period. I seen Disturbed years back and they performed amazing
Me hearing S&G sing this for the first time: Wow! Me hearing Disturbed's remake: WOOWWWW! Me hearing Myles thrown into the mix now: HOLY F**KING SHHHHIIIIII........!!!
I KNOW, right. I was today-years-old when I heard this duet. After crushing on Disturbed's version this whole time...I don't know if I can keep loving more versions. Sigh❤❤
Holy shit! Just when I think there can’t possibly be a better version... Bridge over Trouble Water...oh my god my ears are aching to hear David and Myles do that
These guys understand this song at a level that is staggering...... far more than S&G I wish they would re-cast some of their other lyrics in this style... gothic/ballad/classical/powerrock
DAMN this was amazing! And Disturbed's solo version is already amazing, but adding Myles to the mix made it even more amazing! I'd love to hear Myles do a solo cover of this as well though.
WOW! I'm not a Disturbed fan but I love Myles Kennedy. You'd never know this was a Simon and Garfunkel cover--completely different genre and they made it their own. Hauntingly beautiful!
I'm kinda new at this....since I have just been turned on to David AND Myles, but I'm in heaven just about now.!! I've listened to Simon & Garfunkel sing the ORIGINAL for years, but I am just beginning to hear the URGENCY and the WARNING in the lyrics of this cover.!! I'm in love....!!
It's almost too much for me. Both of their voices separately make my heart want to explode. Putting them together stimulates me in an indescribable manner. And I absolutely love that this performance wasn't perfected. It was like a vocal challenge but both vocals are perfect. I am left with a full mind and body euphoria.
Immensi è a dir poco.... 5 minuti d'ascolto in apnea! Adoro Simon&Garfunkel e ogni rivisitazione è ben accetta, ma qui Disturbed &Co innalzano il livello quasi all'originale . wow!
I happened upon this song in a show I was watching. I don't like Disturb's music but David's voice is so beautiful, almost mesmerizing. With Myles accompanying David, it's totally beautiful art. Love it.
Absolutely love the combination of the 2 vocals here and reminiscent of the original song with 2 vocalists together. Love the deep smooth atmospheric vocals of Draiman with the higher grittier vocals of Kennedy. I don’t think I would love the cover as much if Kennedy has sung it on his own though
Damn. Myles never ceases to amaze me. There are not many men on this planet, past or present, that can hit such high notes like that with such power. I did not say he is the only one... There just haven't been too many. He's a rare breed. Want a good example, listen to Alter Bridge- Words Darker Than Their Wings live at Royal Albert Hall... The high note towards the end. Even Mark Tremonti looks over at him like "hell yeah buddy".
I love how Myles goes low and David goes a bit higher around 3:58. They actually do this in every video/performance but it's so subtle. Myles always gives a quick smile when they do it. Check it out on all the videos they sing this song together in.
Really masterful work from Myles considering this version was designed to be sung by one person covering pieces of both harmonies. His transitions to work around David are very impressive.
Jim Sheppard Well myles went to school for this stuff. Guy is a multi talented individual who is not just a great singer but is also a very good guitarist and is under rated.
Josh Baker yeah! Tell me about it! Because I’ve never even heard of him. He’s awesome! And I LOVE music and listen to it constantly but just maybe not Myles type of music then maybe?
The goosebumps from that simple blues run they did. "I just love the sound of 2 guitars fighting each other for the same note" -Dimebag Darrell Kind of a similar thing going on there in my opinion.
David Dreiman is such a talent!!! His voice is so powerful and nice. Literally I haven't seen any vocalist performing live with almost no difference from the recording so far. He's just an awesome singer.
My parents favourite song. They're both gone from this earth now. In 30 years of being a Cabaret Performer I am ashamed to say I never sang this song. I just wish they were here to appreciate this version by David and Myles. I'm off to dry the tears and listen again. Outstanding!
