Fun fact: The part where black swan and Acheron dance together happens right before we meet up with Black Swan. That’s why she’s so surprised to see her again. And when we run into Misha and Acheron with firefly, she mentions having had a dance with a member of the garden of recollection.

IX is a very special aeon. I feel like Acheron being an emanater of nihility doesn't nesscessary means she’s a follower of IX. Instead of followers, Emanators of nihility is more like people who suffers from the enroachment of IX. My current theory is that Acheron is fading away due to the corruption of IX and she wants the legacy of the watch maker to help her find her meaning of existence and maintain her existence.

So far we only got two Aeons that are considred to be Black Hole entities, Ouroboros the Voracity and IX the Nihility, it's very unlikely for Acheron to survive if it was indeed Ouruoboros so my guess it's IX. I am still sad it's not Terminus the Finality but all evidence points out that it is IX.

I think that the last scene was literally just Acheron's life condensed into the blade. However, her utter descent into Nihilism(her realization that they would still meet a meaningless end) eventually made everything she did and fought for be for "Naught". She literally found no meaning in anything anymore. Her slashing at IX is probably just a metaphorical way to visualize her last act of defiance.

Ik that Arnold may not catch each and every detail the trailer had as he still has lot to catch up with HI3rd but its always great to see another lore players's perspective whether they have the whole context or not

Speaking as someone with no honkai 3rd context (unfortunately no time for another game and its world building which i bet is great) and who personally enjoys lore theory crafting no matter how accurate to the mark it ends up being, your content's always a fun way to experience lore in a community setting. I gotta give you props for your ability to connect pieces of information from even flavor text and memories of quests from different games from even years before This right here is content with thought and sincere interest in it

Out of all the content creators that i've watched, you're the only one that managed to find not only HI3 reference but also genshin reference for this trailer, it's like all the dots is connected. And you also managed to catch a bunch of details from HI3 even though you haven't finished part 1 storyline which is really amazing

You were already one of my favourite lore content creators, being able to connect the dots on any piece of lore you find, and for you to be able to piece together the references and connections to HI3 from this trailer, without even having full context, hats off to you, my guy. And yes, you will get to know more on the Herrschers as you play through more of Part 1 of HI3, and the order of the Edicts will closely match that of the order of the Herrschers, if not exactly the exact same.

Before Mei’s new Herrscher battlesuit got revealed, I originally theorized that it would be “Origin” because of 1. The Elysian Realm 2. The Raiden Shogun being tied to concept of Origin as well, albeit more grounded that the rest of the Raidens. Glad I was right, and glad it stayed consistent. I hope Ei also gives up the authority of Electro and receive the authority of Origin one day.

Loved the way Arnold and his team explained so well the story of HI3 and the lore story of Acheron with images of all the games to make it easy for us to follow and understand (haven't played HI3). My best lore streamer ever :)

I think Constance is another memo keeper (because I remember Black Swan saying that there's another one in Penacony beside her) and her colour scheme looks kinda like a memo keepers (with all the blue and white?) plus I remember her saying, "What if we all end up dead?" Which would be her using some of her powers and knowing that the inevitable was to occur (and she saves herself and her siblings maybe?) with Duke Inferno being the 'exchange' of sorts (Also just a bunch a guesses piled together but just thought of it so decided to comment here).

It’s crazy that since Acheron doesn’t have a firm grip on her memories, and Black Swan is able to read the memories of people without them noticing, from Acheron’s perspective, the two of them shared a dance, nothing more. Acheron didn’t INTEND to traumatize the hell out of Black Swan. She has no idea any of that happened.

Apparently, the Chinese and Japanese voice actors for the White Oni in Acheron's Myriad Celestia trailer are the VAs for Kevin Kaslana, and he did get a white demon form, so to speak. When we first meet Acheron before entering Penacony, she has different dialogue depending on whether your Trailblazer is Stelle or Caelus. If you chose Stelle, she says you remind her of a female someone she once stood side by side with. If you chose Caelus, she says you remind her of a male someone she once crossed blades with. This brings the question of whether the End that Acheron killed was HSR's version of Kiana or Kevin. In Honkai Impact 3rd, Kiana becomes Herrscher of Finality (end), but the White Oni in the trailer could have been a version of Kevin who she had to fight, hence Caelus reminding her of a guy she crossed blades with. Is this a scenario where HSR's "Mei" had to fight Kiana to the death, or did Kiana die and Kevin become a foe that Acheron had to defeat?

I saw this very interesting interpretation, about what "the lie" Acheron was talking about in the trailer really was. And why she's Nihility instead of Finality. This interpretation is pretty much free of HI3rd spoilers so you can safely read this. People wanted Acheron to be Finality, but Finality asserts the idea that there is a clear resolution where something dictates that there is an end. In Acheron's case, she seemingly gave in to accepting that there was no end at all because there would be nobody to cherish a budding result in the end. Ironically, the story wasn't even a zero-sum game in the end because Izumo didn't gain anything by Takamagahara's loss, and Takamagahara didn't gain anything from Izumo's loss. It was as if the game was rigged from the start and that the sum would never be more than zero._

Heh... it's always nice to see the reactions of those that have finished HI3 part 1 and those that either barely played or never played. In your case, it's great to see you picking up on the stuff that you experienced in HI3. It's a bit unfortunate you only finished chapter 9. Not sure if you read them, but if you read the manga (especially Second Eruption) you would have immediately figured which one was Truth). It would be interesting to see if you continue playing HI3 at some point, but I say everything after chapter 10 gets pretty good. Still... these last 2 videos from hoyo are super goated! And it'll only get better from here.

Here's an interesting read i found in the lore discussion area of the HSR server im in: Self-Annihilators are a group that lost their meaning of existence when they carelessly stepped into IX the Nihility's shadow. The shadow of the Nihility covers the stars equally, and Self-Annihilators may form in any world. These poor souls share one thing in common: Their various existential properties - such as corporeal bodies, mental cognition, and personal memories... will gradually fade away in their journey of self-annihilation. Some Self-Annihilators have their skin turn into something like rotten wood, full of holes and scars. Some have their endocrine system disrupted, becoming unable to distinguish between pleasure and pain and turning numb to everything. Some lose their memories, others lose their senses... It is as if they have been deprived of the meaning of their lives by some entity, and can only keep watching in dreams and illusions as their own forms disappear into a black hole at the end of the horizon. However, some Self-Annihilators would conceive the idea of fighting back. They join the Doctors of Chaos, vowing to do their best to cure others of the Nihility in what little time they have left in exchange for their own redemption. Moreover, some of them rely on their strong convictions to try to break the Nihility at its root - by slaying the Aeon that slumbers in the Abyss. Dr. Primitive, No. #64 of the Genius Society, once asked this before his disappearance: If IX is truly unresponsive to the universe, how could the Path of Nihility exist to this day? Perhaps, as the Self-Annihilators aimlessly traverse the cosmos, they are also casting the shadow of the Aeon across the universe. As for the few that can single-handedly withstand the encroachment of Nihility on their existences, their journey of self-annihilation is drawn out to infinity, and the road they walk is like a shadow of IX cast in the world.

Ive never played Hi3 so this might be wrong, but it seems that Hi3 and Genshin are both just equivalent to 1 planet in Star Rail. If all the stuff with these space and time altering godly beings just happened on one planet, and then an Aeon (I assume IX, not Terminus, though its possible the paths intersect just like Remembrance and Enigmata) just comes along and swallows everything up... the power levels in Star Rail seem unfathomable. I certainly feel a bit of existential dread thinking that a story as complex as Hi3's is just an alternate universe footnote in HSR

The story of her past seems very interesting and more complicated than I originally thought, which I really like. Possible reach but i think her peach idle animation is also a reference to Shinto mythology, Izunami and Izunagi. Specifically when Izunagi went into Yomi to save Izunami. The version I'm familiar with basically says that Izunagi, like Orpheus, was warned not to look back at Izunami as he took her hand and ran or else he would see how she really appeared in Yomi, a rotting corpse. He couldn't help himself and turned to her. He became terrified and let her go to run away. She was heartbroken and chased him through Yomi. He didn't get away until he found a peach tree growing in the underworld and started throwing peaches as her (😂) as they ward evil. Izunagi rested and ate a peach before returning to the overworld where he was the death of Yomi off of his face, creating Amaterasu (Sun Diety), Tsukuyomi (Moon Diety) and Susanoo (Sea/Storms/Underworld). Mei/Ei/Acheron seem to take Izunagi's role in this reference as the survivor. Mei HoT has some obvious parallels to Susanoo. Ei has a ton of moon themes from her description of being her sister's shadow (the moon eclipsing the sun, Makoto). Even her charged attack is an eclipse of you look at it. Acheron is a bit tricky but she and the rest of Izumo viewed IX as a dark sun, which she eventually raised 'Naught' to before presumably being consumed and becoming an emanator. Maybe IX was impressed with her resolve. I cooked something. It might be dog food but i tried.

Glad you made an analysis to this, which you deduced a lot of them correctly, Pointers: yes the 12 sentinels is like a direct reference to the 12 divine keys which are weapons created from the herschers During the PE era ( origin and finality and there are other more herschers which are not included within the 12 but i think they too have divine keys, not sure of this though since it's been long) You don't have any knowledge reference of blade of frost, thought and after blades yet since you where only at chapter 9 but you will know of it once you continue (i believe you will go through reason the frost but you'll see it for yourself) Yes there's a cycle as well in HI3 but i can't tell anything of it cause if i say a word of anything related, it may spoil you on its lore a lot. Lastly the Second Eruption Manga mostly focused on one particular Herscher of the current Era, if you want to learn from the beginning or that of the 12 divine keys then i recommend you reading those of the Previous Era Mangas. All in all its a great video I'll be waiting on your HI3 stream ❤👋👋

The last scene is her becoming an emanator of IX as it is said that whoever gazes on IX dies, those who survive this encounter become self annihilators (basically emanators against the will of the person or the will of IX), her hair changing white is the instant she became one. being apathetic is a caracteristic of self annihilators. The blade of origin (or life) was reforged into the blade of "naught" she became the best embodiment of nihility (after IX ofc) The "naught" blade must have the power of atleast 6 sentinels, since we can assume origin and end used 6 each, and she used origin to destroy end which led to the destruction of origin too.

Men, now, imagine if you finished HI3 and watch this.. I was blown away and flabbergasted lmao.

It's heavily implied that Acheron became a "Self-Annihilator", which is an Emanator of IX. But IX doesn't "make" Emanators, as IX is too apathetic to care. Instead, Self-Annihilators just... "happen" by virtue of IX existing. It's said they occurr when someone 'steps unwittingly into IX's shadow'; which is a flowery way of saying that when someone experiences the existential apathy of IX, the true crushing weight of futility, there's a chance they become a Self-Annihilator. And this can happen on any world, because the 'shadow of IX' is universal. Most Self-Annihilators are said to wander aimlessly and waste away, their very existence slowly fading as Nihility itself is part of them now. They lose their memories, or their senses, or their ability to distinguish between feelings, or even their body may begin falling apart over time. A few try to help others escape Nihility, by joining the Doctors of Chaos, spending what time they have left making what difference they can. Fewer still fight back and rage against Nihility and try to kill IX itself. And the very very exceptional few learn to manage their condition and stall the encroaching Nihility, never gaining back what faculties they've lost, but halting Nihility's progress within them indefinitely, "stretching out their journey to infinity", possibly making them functionally ageless. I believe it's highly likely that Acheron is of this last class of Self-Annihilator. Her memory problems are a lingering effect of being one, but she has learned to cope with it and is no longer in danger of fading from existence. While the other Edict Edges carry the Authority of their respective slain Sovereigns, her sword likely carries the Authority of Nihility, "Naught". Nothing. Null. Likely forged in the moment when she first felt that crushing weight of true existential Nihility. This may be why she doesn't want to draw her blade often, why she has to be careful about when and against whom she draws it. It may very well be a blade that can truly 'cut' something out of existence, and it may have been that blade that 'cut' Izumo and Takamagahara out of existence as well. Not that there was anything left to save.

Also another interesting thing is who they say all 12 edicts forged in to origin and end(finality), and THEN they forged into the final blade(life). In the CN ver of this trailer they referred to this final blade, life, as 人(human). - the following is gonna be spoilers for those who hasnt finished hi3 elysian ream arc.- idk how to add spoilers on youtube comment so imma do it the dumb way, and hopefully turn this to an expandable comment. % % % % % % % % % % % % % % Which when I saw I immediately related this to Elysia, the herrscher of human AND origin. Who, unlike the blade being the final one in the trailer, was the first herrscher that came before all other herrshcers. Really interesting parallel to see here specially given the context of Elysia's back story.

I have Herscherr of Origin in HI3, and her Ultimate is almost the same with Acheron. They draw their blade and perform slashes on the enemies while time stops.

Acheron wields the blade of “naught” as in nothing.

I watched this video! And.....in this video for the whole time, I don't even seem to be breathing! It was so beautiful and incredible! I just experienced the whole range of emotions. At the same time, all these emotions, even negative ones, were pleasant to me. That's for sure the Animators tried their best. By the way, the moment when the screen changes to black and red. I had a feeling that there was a second personality living inside Acheron. Some kind of monster that destroys everyone who tries to look at it. Because I had a strong feeling that the Swan was on the verge of death. Well, it's not for nothing that we were shown a lot of miniatures in the background where a predator runs after prey. And as we know Hoyo. They don't just show anything in their videos. And the annihilation team. They were so weak for Acheron that she didn't even remember them. It's incredibly creepy! It still gives me the creeps.

So Acheron's last words of 'I knew this world was fleeting, and yet, and yet' is actually a translation of famous poet Kobayashi Issa's haiku that he wrote after experiencing the death of four of his children. Which knowing Acheron experienced essentially the first era of houkai from houkai impact 3 with totally not kevin makes it very fitting. Warning for content: Here Kobayashi Issa is writing about Sato, his one-year-old daughter, who had contracted smallpox. 'After two or three days, however, her blisters dried up and the scabs began to fall away - like a hard crust of dirt that has been softened by melting snow. In our joy we made what we call a ‘priest in a straw robe.’ We poured hot wine ceremoniously over his body, and packed him and the god of smallpox off together. Yet our hopes proved to be vain. You are wrong on the point that acheron killed duke inferno because he wanted to kill IX. The annihilation gang are multiple factions they even fight each other, some known factions are the Jepella brotherhood and the everflame mansion. Acheron killed duke in his way to penacony. The incident with IX happened a long time ago before any of this.

the 2 planets are revolving around the black sun (black hole) The lie was that the battle will not end and truth is that both world will be sucked into nothingness(blackhole). The reason why those blades were forge, is to end the cycle of beginning and the end but they learned the larger truth that they are being sucked into nothingness (IX). Thats why she became emanator of Nihility.

Although we all know Acheron is tightly connected to Honkai impact 3rd, but it also gives me vibe of Raiden Shougen in Genshin impact. The Archeron we pull is like the puppet Shougen in Genshin, and the real Archeon has become the blade she’s using just like the blade Makoto left for Ei. Although I got no evidence, I’m looking forward to see it in future content.

Acheron’s sword representing origin and end, with her hilt being the hilt of origin and the blade forming from her oni(end) blood, but being called “Naught” intrigues me cause that kinda implicates to how she believes that origin and end hold no meaning and are, therefore, nothing.

Cause near the end, when the Maiden is talking, they put life in parenthesis after blade. Meaning it's not, 70,033 weapons were forged into 12 sentinels. But rather, 70,033 lives were given to forge the 12 sentinels. And at the end, when they state what was needed for the final blade, it isn't 70,047 weapons were forged to form the blade that will save us. But rather, 70,047 lives were given to forge the final weapon of their world fight, Naught. Nothing. 70,047. For nothing.
