I think social media ruined the dating market cause when I was in school (2007) we had “cliques” but it wasn’t a “popularity” contest. As a black guy I was a lil more hip hop but I had skateboard girlfriends.. I smashed the cheerleaders we literally invented 16 & pregnant. It was very normal to see grahm Stephan’s with Regina George.. nick cannons with Mariah Carey’s.. I know fat guys that married some of the prettiest girls in school.. social media made everybody “cliche” around 2006-2007 with MySpace top 8’s and stuff. Everything became about profile pics and taking pics at parties before social media we used to have “kick backs” house parties .. we hung out with the Mexicans.. the skaters.. the emos the nerds etc.. you can see some girls buying blunts at the 7-11 and say “match one” and girls come kick it in the park and it be like 50 people in the park smoking hanging out. Nobody really had cellphones so we really hang out and be friends. You can literally figure this out within the first few dates by asking them about their morals/values, views on religion, future prospects for starting a family, etc... Dating today it's a lot harder since me too. I had more ease in high school and college and the mid 2000s and late 2010s. I am struggling badly, and I have a career and own a home and nice car. I am to the point where; I am looking for additional side hustles and events to meet women.
