I understand how Mysta felt. The only person I can rely to after my dad passed away is my mom and she's been a strong single mother till I became an adult. She does feel like she couldn't afford enough to support all her children. I cried listening to him. 😭

I have so much respect for Mysta bro. As a fellow Filipino, I've seen so many stories of single moms working so hard for their children and it just makes you have this huge amount of respect for them. Mysta's considerate and understanding nature makes Mama Rias very lucky because obviously it's not her fault at all. I'm glad that both of them are happy now.

I have so much respect for Mama Rias because to be able to raise a child on your own in a foreign country with your family thousands of miles away on a diffrent continent without the ability to see or even talk to each other often and also having to deal with poverty and probably worrying about having your child taken away and still manege to stay so positive and loving is not an easy thing to do yet Mysta is the testment of her resiliace and she did a wonderful job of bringing up this wonderful man

@@katherinef1766 mama rias is filipino and mysta is half and while I think she was born in england the majority of their family is in the philippines and due to poverty their family in the philippines don't have internet or phone service in their home. Mysta's father left him at birth so his mother raised him on her own but they struggled with money and often got evicted due to being unable to pay rent and had to stay with other people and they relied on food banks to eat, Mysta even had to drop out of school to start working to ensure they wouldn't end up on the streets

I watched some of his stuff before thru collabs and shit, but not until very recently have I started to watch him everyday. He’s so funny, brilliant and quick-witted that I was totally mesmerized. It’s kinda sad to think that he’s leaving soon, but on the other hand I’m so happy to see this wonderful human being starting a new chapter of his life after living through poverty and miseries, and building a very successful career and leaving a hopeful legacy to many. This'll be lengthy, but I'm touched personally by this and I must speak/type. Its from the heart: Dearest Mysta, If you should ever see this, Bless you and your Mom, Mysta. I can empathize because I've been homeless/ "nomadic". It can be and IS an embarrassing, heartbreaking and almost soul crushing experience. And sadly, in my case, there were individuals that took advantage of my situation. It can render one to tears sometimes because the heart needs to emote and get it out. But I pressed on. And you and your dear Mum pressed on. You survived that circumstance and YOU ARE THRIVING, SWEETHEART!! You bring so much joy, laughter, cheekiness and life experience in your young years to the table and to a global community, we Mystakes, that we admire, respect and love you for it. The mutual teasing and chain jerking goes back and forth for a good laugh. But trust that we are all so proud of you. Continue setting your goals and making it happen. Support the charities that motivate your heart. When you do shed tears, may they only be tears of hope, joy and accomplishment. Hold your head high. And this goes out to anyone else that needs to hear these encouraging words. Hugs and Headpats to you, Mysta. xoxo Muah!

Mysta is seriously such a good person. Even though he has a totally different personality than I do, I find him incredibly relatable. My father passed away when I was really little, and my mom had to raise me and my two brothers by herself. And it was hard. We were very lucky that my parents bought the house I grew up in, because there were times when money was so tight, she had to choose between paying the electric bill and the phone bill, and we were literally living on bread and water. But we got through it, and it taught me so much about appreciation and respecting people, no matter what their upbringing was like. A person's character isn't defined by their wealth. It's about how they treat others, especially the people they love. Money comes and goes, but being the type of people who looks out for others and recognizes the value in everyone is so important. Nobody should feel ashamed of getting help when they need it. I mean, honestly, look at Mysta... he's struggled so much, but he's also incredibly successful now. Part of that comes from the resilience of knowing how to get through the hard times and survive so that you can achieve something better for yourself.

this hits a little to hard on me, i know how he feels, I'm crying as fuck, but I just want to say, to my mom and to all the mom's who fight so hard to raise a kid alone, to all the mom's that feel like they failed because of not being able to give their kid something they asked for, for not having the money, for all the mom's who feel like they failed for only being able to get the basic food, to all the mom's that blame themselves for the lack of a dad for their kid. to all those mom's, You are incredible, you are so incredible, you did everything you could, and you're so so so strong, and your kid is definitely proud of you, please love yourself more, you are the best mom ever okay, I'm sure that the situation you're in doesn't change anything in how your kid loves you. You did not fail in anything. and to anyone that has a mom like this, if you ever get the chance to tell them this please do, in your own words, for your own situation, but please tell them, tell them that they did not fail in anything, they deserve to know it, your words will mean so much more than you imagine to them. ( i hope the English isn't to bad, it's not my first language and I have been crying as I write this so my eyes are blurry, sorry for any mistakes )

I’m so proud of Mysta and Mama Rias. As someone who’s been going through something like that for years and currently is still going through with it but not as bad as it used to be, it is embarrassing not being able to have electricity or water for months and wearing the same clothes for years or not having food most of the time and having to make due with canned beans or toast bread for weeks….My friends always want me to go out with them but not having money with me is just,,,,,,so they try to pay for me which is even worse, I get their good intentions but sometimes I don’t think they see me as someone on their level, but it might be just me haha…..Him having the strength to talk about such things just makes so proud of what he’s done and how far he’s come, they’ve both come. I love him so much and Mama Rias is so strong for raising him and doing her best throughout these years with what she had AUGHHH I LOVE THEM BOTH THANK YOU MAMA RIAS FOR GIVING BIRTH TO SUCH A WONDERFUL SON 😭😭🧡🧡

I hope he knows that the mystakes are proud of him so much, I seriously wish him and his mother nothing but the best because they deserve it. To anyone who is or was struggling in similar ways: you are strong and resilient people! This does not define you and you deserve all the love and support! I remember when me and my mom and sibling would have to rely on food boxes and clothing banks, when even basic utilities would be shut off for weeks because we couldn’t afford to pay, and the constant threat of having our home taken away from under our feet. I remember seeing how frustrated and depressed my mom was, but I’m going to tell her how much I love and appreciate her, especially back then.

I grew up poor but not to the point of getting food support, because my 3rd world country does not do something like this, so we have to try our hardest to survive and go to school. Now when we live a lot lot lot better, sometimes my Mom said "what if we had this life back then when you guys are still in school. You will get better nutrition, better clothes, better school stuff, or even better school. I'm sorry you have to go thru that all" It always makes me sad that my parents are blaming themselves for their lack of incomes. Even having to learn the struggles when I was in school since that all we did was give back to the community and help out to those in need, always donating foods and clothes, we would even have a day where we would go out and build bed for kids who didn’t even have a bed. We even gave kids that didn’t have school supplies or lunches in backpack. It was always nice to do things like this to help people out in their hard times and providing as much resources we can give. this makes me cry bc i remember my mum had moved to australia maybe the same year that we lost my dad and our youngest or maybe even the year after and the rest of my siblings had moved away from where i was with our grandparents. so i'm this 2 year old in new zealand with my grandparents on their farm, not knowing where my siblings and my parents are. i was brought to australia when i was 5 and whilst it was unknown to me at the time, bc my mother is this lady of 4 kids, alone and trying to provide on her own in a completely different country, it meant she had struggled. we had lived in an area known as homebush with this kind old man that my mum had gotten to know and he opened the doors of his home to us. i remember my mum also telling me how she would just want to cry bc when it came to me going to preschool, i had a scooter but we didn't have a car at the time and so when i got tired, my mum would have to carry me and the scooter home and she (as this strong, prideful woman who's been working to support the ones she loves) wanted to sob. she's, we're all doing better now but i'm gonna take care of this woman for the rest of my life after everything she's done.

i loveeeee this kindess in the community. this is something I want to keep doing as well is why I made it my goal to keep doing charity streams at least twice a year. ^_^ growing up, I also didnt have much things in life and we always get kicked out of our apartment cuz we couldnt pay the rent no more. We experienced living on my dad's boss' SUV for couple of nights while my dad tries to find place to stay... but now, I'm extremely blessed to have a comfortable home, warm bed and food everyday and I want to give back no matter what or how. Everyday I'm grateful of whatever I am privileged to have in life. I wish the best for Mysta and Mama Rias. May the universe always guide them as well as everyone in the community and keep them healthy and happy.🧡🧡🧡 keep spreading the kindness and compassion, everyone!! You're making huge difference!

I love seeing communities put together stuff like this. Mysta is one of the most inspiring role models out there with his experiences and his emotional intelligence was so immediately apparent from the beginning aside from his humor. I'm lucky to have been fortunate to never worry about food or a home but my high school had a drop out rate of 50% for girls because they would get pregnant and so many were single mothers. I can only count on one hand the amount of dads who stayed so I respect the heck out of any single moms I've seen how much work they put in. The stigma is even worse against Asian women because their worth is so often tied to marriage.

It's so hard to swallow the lumps on my throat how painful it is to hear Mysta's shaky/emotional voice, like dude, he's been through a LOT with his mom. If only we could give him warm hugs. Ma bois deserves what he has right now 🧡

I respect Mysta and his mum ALOT . Even if they were living in such a situation they still strived through the pain , powering on day by day trying to live . Now he gets to live the life he wants yet he still is humble . Mysta , we wanna thank your mother for raising such a good boi .

🫂 to Mysta. He's come such a long way and it can't be easy sharing about struggles in the past. I hope he knows just how proud everyone is of him, and that his mum feels proud of herself too for how well she raised her son. 🧡

I cried, for him, for everyone in that situation. You're always going to be enough. You'll get through it. I cried for the fact I want to be able to help people too, one day I will.
