Mysterio casts an illusion that makes you think this is high humor and you give me money and like me thank you Second channel: @Solidusjj Patreon: / solidjj
Fun fact: Mysterio got so sick of being considered a joke, he tried to drive daredevil insane by tricking him into butchering a newborn baby. Mysterio nearly succeeded and Daredevil was given permanent ptsd
Didn’t he do this to daredevil twice, the second time he Had cancer and wanted his last act to finally defeat a superhero.spider was too hard to kill so he thought daredevil would be easier
ngl, the fact Mysterio can transcend the second dimension by utilizing handwork & equipment that goes beyond non-animated, single-frame images is actually terrifying. No wonder why he got away with millions.
I mean come on this is the same city that in another reality couldn't figure out there were four giant ass turtles and a rat man living in their sewer system.
My favourite joke that I remember as a kid was Spider-Man asking why Mysterio is wearing a Fishbowl for a head. I don't know why, but I always find that very funny.
@@jahnybravo2168 banks have their money insured. My sister was told in her teller training to always just give the money to the robber. The bank probably makes it all back and then some in insurance money.
Oh, believe you me, Mysterio *is* an actual threat! He once disguised himself as a psychiatrist and used an illusion room to try and convince Spidey that he was losing his mind. And he almost succeeded, too. I kid you not, look this up. Would he be able to do something like that if he *wasn't* a threat? *I THINK NOT* !
"you've...you've done the impossible..." I'll be completely honest I wasn't expecting Mysterio to just jump XD I was half expecting him to be right behind Peter XD like a bad stage magician
@@anotherguy687 to be fair in SOME CANONS, the Spider Sense is SO OVERPOWERED... he'd actually recognize that the pencil isn't part of their reality...
“Tell me, Spider-Man! Do you feel something growing in your ear?” “Something growing in my - Oh you’re gonna do that trick where it looks like you’re pulling a quarter out of my - “ “SUCCESS! Weep in fear, Spider-Man, as I have successfully materialized currency from within your - Oh shit, I dropped that too! I needed that for laundry!”
"ahh, listen... I know this is a little unconventional butdo you have a few bucks in quarters I can have, I'm sure you know how much of a pain it is to wash these costumes---" D-didn't you just rob a BANK? "what, you think I took the loose change Spiderman? It'll be really hard to wash this cape with stacks of hundred dollar bills!" You know what, good rebuttal Mysterio...
@@PrimeofPerfection plus he can make actual threats imperceptible or allies look like villains, like when he tricked wolverine into murdering the xmen in that one elseworlds story
@@ped0ph1LeRU-vid oh it actually went from 0 to _900_ like seriously, it was so much worse than it sounds lmao. From what I recall it was a calm afternoon in X manor when he did this, meaning that out of nowhere wolverine suddenly went crazy and slaughtered not just his friends but a whole crapton of inexperienced kids as well thinking that they were bad guys
@@ELIJAHNUBOYD in one story its implied that he hypnotized Osborn into thinking that he slept with Gwen stacy as part if an obvious retcon.....except they didng specify false memories *exactly* accidentally leaving the door open for fans to eternally joke that Mysterio boned a hypnotized Osborn in an absurd attempt to fuck with Spiderman
In all honesty I've always felt Mysterio really hamstrung himself in constantly going after a superhero who specifically has super senses that let him perceive danger through any kind of illusion.
He tried to go after Daredevil once too. AFTER finding out he was blind. Guess it's all about punching for a high target, seeing if you can trick and beat people with super senses.
Mysterio has invented a gas that dulls Spider-Man's Spider-Sense in the comics, so it's not like he can't put up a fight. He also almost tricked Daredevil into killing a baby by making Matt think the baby was the Anti-Christ, and, in the Old Man Logan bad future, he tricked Wolverine into killing all the X-Men, even some of the students! Mysterio is no joke when given enough preptime!
0:07 I hate my brain. Once I realize that Mysterio's green iris looks like a reflection of She-Hulk's...bum, I couldn't really focus every time Mysterio is on screen.
When I saw the pencil, I though "oh, Mysterio revealed that they're in a cartoon, which would break Spiderman's reality". I was not expecting him to do a bunch of stupid party tricks instead. I did guess that he jumped of the bridge when he used the smoke bomb though, so I got that one at least.
I think this would be a really fun version of Mysterio to write for the comics, an eccentric nutjob who failed as a common magician started casually robbing banks, for the most part to support his magic hobby. Could expand on him by having him learn the actual Mystic Arts
I love Mysterio, villains who are just dudes with a twist are fun. When he was the main villain in Shattered Dimensions I was pretty hyped. He got real powers in that though. Lol
@@TheRealClaylex I'm kinda glad they didn't, it's a huge part of his charm. The only reason I accepted it in Shattered Dimensions was because there were other villains he was competing with, it was the only way to make him have more significance
@@JesterDragon8743 I actually cannot wait to see what they do with The Spot in the new spiderverse movie. I kept saying, he would've been the perfect villain for all the spider-people to fight.
@@TheRealClaylex Petty good choice honestly, I never would have even considered him myself but now I'm shocked it never crossed my mind. I think the animation style of the movie he's going to work wonderfully
He can make his gloves dissapear and then make them appear again like it's nothing. Like he doesn't even mention it. I feel like he was just messing with Spider-Man, he's clearly capable of more and tricked him by just making party tricks. He really is the master of illusions!
“Prepare for a nightmare you can never wake up from.” Bro that’s just reality. Also, South Dakota Fact: Sue, the largest T. rex skeleton ever found, was in South Dakota Sub for more South Dakota Facts
"Honestly if I could I would just say to let you go like out of respect. But the last time I did that it resulted in a lot of casualties and the state says I can't do that anymore." Continuity with The Rhino short. I love it!
At 0:39 when the pencil fell I thought that he would ask spiderman to catch it and he would refuse because last time he tried to stop something from falling off a bridge he accidentally broke it
Man imagine how different Far From Home would be if this Mysterio was involved. Either replacing the Mysterio there or there’s two Mysterio’s running around
Now I want a scene in the movies where Thanos questions if his reality stone is real because Mysterio does the thumb detachment illusion in front of him.
Honestly although this is clearly too far in joke territory I do wish that FFH's Mysterio was closer to this one, moreso in using actual slight of hand and illusions and smoke bombs and the like instead of just holograms
Honestly respect to Mysterio being as big a threat as he ended up being. Typically Mysterio is a joke because Spider-Man’s Spider Sense sees right through a lot of his illusions. The only time he pulls one over on him is when it’s non threatening mind games like that one time he made Spider-Man think he was going crazy by secretly messing with him and basically turning his life into one big Fun House.
Disney: Plot twist -- Mysterio is a villain. The audience -- Shocked pikachu face. Weird that they tried that with one of the most famous spiderman villains.
I like the fish jokes at the beginning reminiscent of old comics, especially the witty one-liner "Alright, I'll bite." Truly inspired by the classic even if pun-filled humor.
My guy please don't ever stop making these, honestly your channel has one of the best content on youtube The joy I get from these skits is indescribable
Despite all this it IS still very impressive that Mysterio stole millions doing what he just did. Either the city is immensely pity or Mysterio is just that awesome. I prefer to believe the latter, man is really committed to the bit of his craft.
In real life, banks often have a policy that if someone tries to rob them, the employees are to cooperate and hand over everything, even if they are only threatening you with a note. It avoids violence and the perpetrator is usually tracked down and captured and the money returned anyway. Of course, that's today- I guess this was set in the 1960s.
I mean don't forget that in this city, people accused of Spiderman of being disableist for beating doctor octopus, who claimed that his tentacles were prosthetics
This is Marvel New York From a statistical standpoint, when a guy in a colorful costume enters a bank and yells about how he can break your mind by warping reality, it is very likely that he does have the power to trap your in an ever repeating nightmare of death. So, I assume it’s just company policy to hand over the money and wait a few days for a hero to return it.
"If I could, I would just let you go, like out of respect, but the last time I did that it resulted in a lot of casualties" We all remember what happened when Spiderman let Rhino loose.
"Do you think these illusions really work?" "Yeah, I mean, I managed to distract The Amazing Spider-Man long enough for my guys to escape with 10 million"
I like that when Mysterio jumped off, he didn't even bother screaming or anything. Like that's just some commitment and dedication just to trick Spiderman 😭💀
Dude's a comedian working on a still-frame-over-dub format and still manages to get a story going in which he references his previous work. Storytelling is alive and well.
The real nightmare world he created was an akward social experience that will haunt him for years to come. He is the equivelant of an akward hand shake.
I absolutely adore your callbacks to the other videos, it really ties everything together as like your own little version of Marvel, and it's honestly kinda magical lmao
Spider man: well I would let you go out of respect but last time I did that the villain destroyed everything. Me: did he reference rhino? Is there continuity in the solid jj universe, so many questions 🤯
There's pretty much always been continuity in his videos; it's most obvious with the Superfriends one. I think this is just the first time there's been a callback in a (cartoon) Spider-Man-related video specifically.
Dude that bit about the thumb is a prime example of an excellent brick joke, it freaking killed me. I'd stand and clap if it wasn't middle of night and this wasn't over the internet.
I love how Spiderman isn’t impressed by his illusion tricks, but he’s somehow not impressed by the fact Mysterio was able to perform them through live-action hands.
Once long ago playing Spiderman 2 with my brothers, Spiderman finds Mysterio holding up a convenience store some time after you had foiled his far more ambitious plans. He taunts the player and we watched in stock when his lifebar filled up on itself multiple times over. We paused and got our older brother to join us who was better at the fighting combos, trying to explain how serious of a threat Mysterio had now made himself to be. He controlled Spiderman to walk up to him, Mysterio did not attack. Then we threw a single punch, laying out Mysterio cold, his power just an illusion. Funniest moment in the entire game!
