The fact that they brought up Luigi and Sinestro's evil mustache but not a single Waluigi joke came up.

I love how, outside of saying he doesn’t know “sinister”, Sinestro doesn’t even defend himself; he just lets Hal dig his own grave in front of the guardians.

I mean Sinestro was very patient with Hal's slanderous remarks, didn't even deny them!

Hal forgot to take into account that really skinny moustaches, widows' peaks and permanent grin/grimaces are the result of Earth narrative tropes. Sinestero looks like a perfectly ordinary guy to most aliens. My question is why did Sinestero choose to look like a classic Earth villain? Totally going to write a story where one character learns more about Earth culture and intentionally acts like a classic movie villain to gaslight the human newbie.

I can't believe Mr. Jordan is profiling already. Mr. Sinestro is an upstanding upholder of the law, with a sense of fashion that is outdated.

For anyone that didn't get the reference Hal Jordan knew an airfield mechanic called Thomas Kalmaku and gave him the nickname Pieface after Eskimo pies. At least Sinestro is all about equal genocide, and that one time he scooped out Joe Chill's brains to learn about earth crime.

Gotta say those 15 seconds of dead silence and black screen at the end really made it for me

Fun Fact: One time Booster Gold was time travelling in the past and through some circumstances came face to face with a younger Sinestro who was atill a member of the Green Lantern Corps, and while talking to Sinestro, Booster Gold subtly implied Sinestro's rise to power, planting the seeds of Sinestro's hatred for The Guardians and the GL Corps. And he was literally twirling his mustache like a classic 1930's villain, after hearing this!

To be fair, Sinestro is his family name. You can't fault someone for that. His given name is the unimposing "Thaal".

Yeah, it's so unfair for Hal Jordan to apply his earth cultural standards and beliefs to aliens. Everyone knows that "Sinestro" is the Korugar word for honorable, and twirling mustaches is what people in the Andromeda Galaxy do when they're hungry.

To be fair, the name "Sinestro" literally only means something to someone who speaks English/Latin languages, and the whole "Evil Moustache" thing is only relevant if you've seen old timey movies/cartoons. Hal came to the right conclusion using the *totally* wrong method

Honestly, after learning the Guardians used a machine to gaslight Superman into making him think he's doing too much for humanity, Sinestro just seems significantly less evil in comparison.

This is especially funny because in Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hal ADMIRED Sinestro, and was the most oblivious to his questionable actions.

I imagine the reason Sinestro managed to stay undercover for so long is that there's so many people of different planets that his appearance and name that raises red flags to humans seems normal to the rest of the Green Lantern Corps

The guy who introduced me to Green Lantern back in 2015 sees Sinestro as a grey morality character. The man named “Evil” who uses magical fear to commit genocide is grey to that dude.

Siniestro was not evil, he simply saw law and order as the virtues of being a Green Lantern above all and in that pursuit inspired fear instead.

You know what makes this funnier? When the council finds out sinestro is evil, they say “well this is awkward” after he leaves. What makes this funnier is if you see that line as not meaning “this is awkward because sinestro really was evil and we were wrong”. But if you see it as “well this is awkward because the racist was right”, it’s infinitely funnier
