This is a wooden model whcich may have been built in the 70s or 80s either by an ecthusiast or for a project. When i bought it it was in very poor condition. This is the story of the reconstruction into someting I am happy with.
I haven't seen this one before. I'm a big fan of X-planes and this one is slightly reminiscent of the good old "Flying Flapjack." You did a top notch repair job - all that filling and sanding really paid off! - Trevor
This is a new one to me! Really cool design, like something out of Jerry Anderson TV show or an optimistic concept jet I'd see on the cover of a Popular Mechanics magazine! Since it's a true one-off item, no way for me to get a copy unless I carve one myself.
All the hard work (filling and sanding, repeat) really paid off. It looks great. A very cool X plane. It's one of flighting pancake or skimmer designs. Are you planning on putting it in a wind tunnel to learn its flight characteristics?
Turned out well for a random lump of wood didn't it Richie? A nice addition to your eclectic collection...👍🏼🤗 Did I see an Athearn BNSF diesel locomotive lurking in the background? Hmm, you haven't done anything railroad related for a while...just a thought... 😉
