I tried to go over as many details as possible in this video, but upon rewatching it, I realize that I failed to include explanations of a lot of the more "basic" maneuvers of the run (such as how Ebi slides work, or general gameplay mechanics). So, having some familiarity with the run will certainly make this a lot easier to comprehend.
That being said, I think this came out pretty well. Hopefully I was able to do both the game and the speedrun justice with this video. 1-54 in MNSG 100% next year, hopefully?

I feel like I'm going to be coming back to this video. First ever goemon speedrun I've seen, and I might wanna put myself at the bottom of the board. See how I feel about the game after completing one.

Super appreciate your video here, taking the time to explain a goodly-portion of this game that many will run but leave unexplained. I do wish you got into more details on the map-unloading glitch, the shoot-vertically-to-the-map-top glitch, and the clipping out of bounds moments. I always wondered why LoZ, Banjo Kazooie, and Mario 64 get so many fan mods and this game was overlooked. I feel theres a lot of room to improve upon it with fan creations, maybe increasing the walk speed and utilizing more puzzles incorporating the 4 ninja's powers.

It's pretty empty. If you aren't Japanese the background will also be foreign, and therefore alien in terms of relatability. The characters are human-esque, but straddle the line between being truly relatable and a cartoon. All of the enemies are unclear if they are robots or organic. The walk speed is slow enough that you have lots of time to really take in how barren the environments can be, and many maps have equally desolate soundtracks -- the wolves howling in the Sapporo region, the cave theme of just dripping water on rocks, the whistling wind and seagulls of the shrine by the ocean. It also helps/hurts that this game was made during the beginning of the 3D game era -- it didn't have many other "good" examples to pull from of how to make itself engaging, but damn that music is catchy
