Myth Busting » ARE GOLDEN CARROTS WORTH IT? 

There's an important distinction. Are golden carrots *better* than cooked beef? Yes. Are golden carrots *worth it*? I'm not so sure on that one. Well tested Foxy!

Hey Foxy, I have been having this debate with my friends too. So wanted to test it in a different way. I mostly eat food whenever I'm down the appropriate number of hunger bars down (so 3 down for golden carrots and 4 down for steak or porkchops) . So I wanted to compare them in that way. Golden Carrots: -died and respawned -/effect @s hunger 35 30 (to get down to 3 hunger bar down) -Eat a golden carrot to full hunger -/effect @s hunger 27 30 (to get down to 3 hunger bar down again) -Repeat last 2 steps Steak or Porkchops: -died and respawned -/effect @s hunger 37 30 (to get down to 4 hunger bar down) -Eat a steak/porkchop to full hunger -/effect @s hunger 27 30 (to get down to 4 hunger bar down again) -Repeat last 2 steps So basically for every food you eat weather its steak/pork or golden carrots if you eat it at the correct hunger bars it takes the same amount of time to get back down to eat the next one. Steak/Porkchop is a bit better just after you died as its 2 more sec of hunger 30 to get down to 4 bars So wouldn't a automatic Holgin farm be better than manually trading golden carrots from villagers? (As long as you mostly eat at the right time with the amount of bars down) Sorry for the long comment lol :P, but I wanted to do this test after watching your video and found the result very interesting

The real test I think would be who could sprint further with the same amount of food. Like give 1 person 10 beef and the other 10 golden carrots and see who can sprint further

Xisuma did some saturation testing because of decked out, but Java tests help me not at all, so I'm so happy to fins this video about bedrock, thank you for making bedrock content, keep it up

Hmmm i believe what people argue is that if you consider the extra hunger bar and how long that takes to drop , vs how long extra you can stay on only 3 hunger bars missing from the golden carrots. Theyre actually the same time. So if youre just sprinting around ,building, mining, or whatever, that the period of time between reaching minus 4 hunger from steak is equivalent to the time between reaching minus 3 hunger from golden carrots. I dont know if this is true or not, but i always thought thats what people were arguing. Considering saturation healing doesnt exist in bedrock people just dont consider the healing aspect as much. I can see why if steak or porkchops is somehow easier to farm than golden carrots, that choosing them would make sense , if the only difference is a hearts worth of healing.

Make a Mooshroom farm or hoglin farm same thing but Mooshroom farm is damn easy

in java golden carrots are good for combat because you heal quickly and it matters how much saturation you have but for casual game beef is always superior cuz you eat less and get more

Well, for my current world, I'll keep using Golden Carrots since I'm set up for them, but next world, I'll just do a beef farm. Good test, thanks.

Foxy you should make the saturation mod for Bedrock if that’s even possible. The one that makes the hunger bar gold I think? Would be a very nice quality of life mod if it is possible😆

Something to keep in mind. Saturation is more valuable than raw food. Saturation gets converted to health when hunger is full, so golden carrots will heal you faster.

So basically just stick with whichever one you already have stockpiled.

It says heal use 6 saturation per half a heart so the different between those is 12 saturations? When sprint only use 0.1, I think that's huge gap😅

Make a add-on than heal faster

Eating food as soon as your hunger bar tick down gives you more saturation, but it makes the hunger side of the food useless. And u will end up using more food than u need and spend more time eating overall. It's more effective to only eat when you need to regain spring(when hunger hits 3 bars). Golden carrots take 3 uses to fill hunger, while steak takes only 2. So u will always be eating more golden carrots overall. Steak is better than golden carrots in most situations where u don't need to regenerate hearts. And in cases where u do need to regenerate hearts, Golden apples beat Golden carrots, so prob better to save your gold for that instead.
