True!❤ Your words certainly resonated with me when you spoke of how clients and others assumed how your childhood was. I've had clients, some colleagues, and some friends suggest how wonderful my childhood must have been as i seemed so together. That for a long time was a facade as i didn’t allow anyone get to know me at depth. That is not the case now. In truth, all humans struggle from time to time, not solely survivors of childhood trauma. Thanks for your video!😊

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. The facade we create is such an interesting experience, both protective and isolating. ❤️

I could relate to all your saying about all of it in ways knowing now why it all happened, and it did leave wounds, and left with depression, anxieties, ocd’s,ptsd’s,cptsd’s,addictive behaviors, shyness, social anxieties, and was a great struggle to get threw, and accepting all of what happened because of the humility, shame left with which is always there lurking in the background, and later many times triggered in many different ways, and by thoughts, flashbacks, nightmares, and dreams having to endure, and be accepting of it all,and just have gratitudes thank you for listening😇🦋🌈❤️🍭🙏Namaste

There is a lot of projection and comparison to other people, especially when you're younger. Because, you don't want to be yourself, be in your own skin, self hatred goes deep. You'd rather be anyone else than yourself, and you think other people and their lives are always so much better than yours. As you go through the decades , this changes and you start to love yourself and the feelings of looking at others and wanting to be like them , dwindles and you start to heal more and love yourself

I think people who are survivors themselves, can see very subtle signs in other survivors . Particular with very small subtleties in body language. Only my observations in life of course. But not always, just sometimes , with some people .

I work within the mental health services, we work with innumerable people who have experienced childhood trauma, often diagnosed with personality disorders which is often used as a term of insult to injury. I feel saddened that we still blame the victims rather than where it lies. I agree that men are often overlooked and criminalised. I am lucky after experienced the gamut of abuse experiences and have worked hard to progress but I find difficult to look after myself properly

I am also am a specialist MH Social Worker, sectioning people under the MH act is often the worst aspect - I feel unworthy most of the time.

Pathologizing survivors is so incredibly detrimental. I hope this serves as a reminder to take better care of yourself. ❤️ Thank you for sharing.
