Wow! That's Mike Watt from Minutemen?? That is so fckn cool!!! I am so surprised to hear that he actually sounds as good as the original bass player. Mike Watt definitely had a choppy sounding bass style of playing back when he was in Minutemen. But I only had their first 7" on SST, though. As it turned out after hearing other records of theirs, that 7" ended up becoming my personal favorite by them. Loved that raw, angular guitar style from that record.
'Everybody's always try to tell me what to do. Don't you try, try to tell me what to do' are genius lyrics. Big impact. Too long since I've heard 'Raw Power' - Quality guitar riff. Iggy's the man. Great version here.
saw them at Riot Fest 2012. The boys haven't lost a lick in 40 years. Iggy is still the king! Watt looks like he's 100 hobbling up on stage, but he still KILLS! Williamson on guitar! Killer line-up! thanks for posting.
saw him in i think 2003 or close to that ... warming up for red hot chilli pebbers .... damn that was like getting kicked in the nuts by music ... Iggy is a true rock and roll hero and a great human ... Hail to the king of rock ... there can be but only ONE!!!
With an average age between them of about 60 (at the time this was filmed), these guys rock harder than most contemporary bands whose members average a third their age!
Growing up on the STOOGES and then later Mike and ALL his madness ...The reunion shows were amazing .. James is great ...RON WAS THE MAN !!! RIP MR . A--- RIP SCOTT too
Man i love Williamson and what he brought to this group- not saying better or worse than Ashton- they both great and just different but my fav era was Raw power and James Williamson absolutely redefining my ears for a better world
Whiskey 1971 and him doing a Tribute to Jim Morrison with the doors playing behind him whiskey 1974. always thought it was going to be that good forever. Didn’t pan out
I heard that Larry Mullins is from my home town of Knoxville...and he has the same last name as me, it would be ironic if we were related... because I'm the World's biggest Stooges fan... that's right, I said it....
This sounds like punk rock to my ears and he came out in 1970. Of course, the radio ignored him just like they ignored the Ramones. They got zero AirPlay on commercial stations. But he built his rep on live shows just like the Ramones and word of mouth. Not the Damn Radio and all those Cokeheads that own and run radio 📻 stations. He outlasted them all! Iggy is one tough bastard and I say that with affection. He is one tough Son of a Gun! Go Iggy Go!
