Very apt & interesting video Gareth ! Apt because I brought a frame set to build one up but it w they all as only when it was delivered I realised it has a full carbon fork. I have a few bikes but whether they are steel , aluminium , CF have non CF stems so as I am building it myself with limited skills I returned it. I just don't like the fact that CF steering tube is so malleable. Its a shame because the bike always gets good reviews as yours does. I will look for an alternative but I will stick with 1x as I have been using my grandsons hybrid with it fitted and I just love the convenience. If I should struggle at any time being I am old I will just get off and walk. Glad your happy with it and you now have a new Sub.
Nice video, I’m just about to buy a Camino. Plus I love the video tour of my old city. You should check out NTR they have their own gravel riding splinter group who ride gravel all the time. NTR dirtbags 👍🏼
Thanks Paul, I'm a bit of a lone wold when it comes to riding - I enjoy the solitude! Enjoy the bike - I've been on my road bike once since I got mine late July last year...
I’m thinking about ditching my road bike for a Camino… I already have a 650b rowdy gravel set up, but to have the freedom to do rides that are 90% road, or where I can explore without fear that the road surface will deteriorate, as well as for extra comfort in the cold & wet, I’m willing to sacrifice a bit of aero position and weight for a wider tyres and cable discs. From your experience, would you advise going for a Camino?
The Camino is definitely an off road bike (but one that feels pretty good on tarmac), so might be quite similar to your ‘rowdy’ gravel bike. They’ve changed the geometry since I bought mine and it is said to have gone further towards the MTB end of the market.
Great ride thank for your point of view about the bike! What size is your frame and how tall are you? I’m thinking of ordering one now! Great value for money.
I’m 5’10” which puts me in the medium/large overlap. After a test ride, I went Large with a 80mm stem (ie slightly shorter than standard 90mm). Sonder are very good at tweaking things to suit you.
@@GriffKane this was super helpful! I am 5 ft 9 which also puts me in that overlap and was worried that the medium frame would push me into a stem that was way longer than optimal. I ended up going for the large so I could keep the shorter stem although I do wish the stack was just slightly lower
Cheers mate, I have almost hit 'Buy It Now' on a Genesis CDA 30 and then I see this pop up in my YT feed....... sorry if i missed it on the vid but what's the lowest gearing on yours? I think I heard you say 40/40? I'm trying to get lower gears on my next bike to save those 'hike-a-bike' moments when fully loaded for bikepacking....... Cheers, looks like a beaut!
@@GriffKane Cheers, looks like a cracking ride - love the scenery at 19:00 ish.... today I ordered the CDA 30, I had been umming and rrrring for a while ...... I might do a little ride-along review...... Enjoy!!
