There is nothing wrong with him not liking Hip-Hop but there is no reason that he has to or should be so rude, confrontational & close-minded about it. Because due to the lack of information he gives it isn't certain whether he truly doesn't like Hip-Hop, the Style or the role it plays or he just doesn't understand it & what it means, the power of the Expression, the diversity & complexity of it's scenes & what it represents & the Art in it. & that his buyers which are of a reasonably high percentage Avid Hip-Hop fans & Enthusiasts might be getting unknowingly deceived. & not knowing that they're possibly supporting someone that doesn't attribute & do justice to their Movement, Spirit & Style. Jordan not being into rap is far from generational. Kareem, Dr. J, and Magic are one thing. However,, Jordan just isn't in tune with the Hip-Hop community or, at least, its music because he has allowed the corporate suits around him to do it. I'm 56. I was there when it started with Rapper's Delight (1979) and The Breaks (1980) on mainstream radio.

A.I was hip-hop, Chris Webber was hip-hop, hell even Shaq was hip-hop. Everyone else just followed along.

Hiphop became mainstream outside of NY probably in the early-mid 80s when Jordan was at an age that he had probably already formed his musical preferences.Let alone he was coming from the agricultural south and not inner city.I cant understand why you think that a black man by default must like rap
