I’m new to Varuna coming from being a JSA vet. Something that I’ve noticed is how damn SWC hungry this sectorial is. I find myself struggling a lot of the time trying to fit what I want in a list without having to shuffle or sacrifice somewhere. Thanks for this vid breakdown because it gave me the kick I needed to snag some of these beautiful models.

Can u do a video about Svalarheima's Winter Force? I really enjoyed this Video on Varuna.. love your breakdown, and pros/cons.. not overly conceited or biased.. which is a plus for me. Also, glad to see someone else uses the same glue that I use. I love the control, I even cut the tube out of the plastic she'll, just to get all the glue out. Thanks again, keep up the great reports.. I'm sharing all your vids to my fellow infinity players in my group at the local game/hobby shop.

Glad you're enjoying the videos! I am definitely planning a Svalarheima WF video, but we have to wait until we get a picture of the miniature of the Karhu before I can feel right about releasing it. The Karhu is going to be a big part of that video. As for what's up next, there will be a video about Shock Army of Acontecimento soon! :) - Nathan

Patsy Squalo is my favorite Duo in the game. So versatile with a ton of order efficiency. I also love the cutter. Chances are I have one or the other in my Varuna lists.

3 croc men minelayers, 3 helot camouflage 1 use light rocket launcher, 1 Zulu cobra FO, 1 Zulu lieutenant. for hilarious reasons, sub the helot camouflage for 3 decoy instead… enjoy the 6 helots on the board with neurocinetics….. it’s ridiculously fun

Just saw this reposted recently on Fbook. A fine unit overview, and I appreciate the overall positive attitude. I find VIRD as a whole was badly nerfed this edition. It no longer hangs together as it used to when it was launched. The 15 body cap badly hurts Helots, Jammer was overnerfed to please a handful of vocal naysayers, and the special character choices don't offer any meaningful role/enhancement this edition. Responding to you on Crocs: they deploy better than Zulu Cobra due to full Infiltration, bring great deployables (mines, repeaters) and Mimetism -6 makes them better shooters against most opposition. Hidden Deployment means they can't be Hunted/Alpha Struck. If we're talking purely Specialists, I've tossed aside ZCs for Crocs.

I've still had a bunch of success with Varuna this edition! I'm even taking them to a tournament this weekend. Even if I'm not taking three Helots every time anymore, I still have enough to get the job done. Usually two. I agree that the Jammer got nerfed pretty hard, but I still use that profile for his Sensor and Triangulated Fire. And the threat is still there, so people are wary of approaching my camo markers. I am learning to use Croc Men more. Specifically, the FO is the one I'm trying to fit more often in lists. But I'll still always rely on Zulu Cobras to get the job done, because they're cheaper. The ZCs just fit my playstyle more, because I really like reinforcing my deployment zone and creating an impenetrable castle. I think Varuna works really well with my playstyle. - Nathan

Thanks for the great videos. I am wondering about the fusilier options. In another video you say you would never kit out the Zanshi, because they are only there to generate orders. How is it different from fusilierrs?
@ConciliumWatch
@ConciliumWatch 2 года назад
Fusiliers ROCK! In PanO, everyone is a killer. Fusiliers are cheap *and* BS 12. Most other line infantry are more expensive than Fusiliers and are only BS 11. You can definitely kit out Fusiliers if you'd like. In Varuna, we do have some great options though. It might be worth using an ORC or Kamau HMG rather than a Fusilier HMG, for example. But if you're tight on points and have some extra SWC, there's no harm in investing in a Fusi HMG or MSR. Hope this helps! - Nathan

So do you convert or proxy for the weapon combos with no supported minis. Just wondering because I’ve been looking right into infinity this last week as something to pick up and notice that as a potential hiccup from the outset. I’m surprised at this actually being 2021 and this far into the idea of miniatures gaming hobbies.
@ConciliumWatch
@ConciliumWatch 3 года назад
I absolutely convert models for missing profiles! It's one of my favorite parts of the hobby. That said, Infinity is *extremely* lenient on proxy rules! As long as the miniature is mostly from Corvus Belli and it is on the proper base, then it is 100% legal, even in a tournament :) Really hope you consider joining us! - Nathan
