Hey Guys today I finally remove the 17t eBay's turbos that have been leaking on my 135i n54 powered BMW. Tried to rebuild the turbos but ran into a problem. Ended up upgrading them still.
The 19t v4 looks insane i have questions when they blow did the low oil light pop on ? Cuz mine have low oil light but no codes and I drove 1 mile on it 😅 ( ur videos soo helpful thank you for it )
Never got a low oil light. But definitely was leaking enough to which I had to add a quart about every few weeks depending how much I drove too. I could have kept driving the car like that but the oil leak was annoying me
Your inlets collapsed, and the turbos were spinning, so that suction force had to come from somewhere, since the inelts collapsed, the suction forced open the turbo seal on the charged-air side sucking a shit ton of oil. That would explain why the turbo seal blew and why your intake is drenched in so much oil.
Hello I just came across your RU-vid channel in desperation if finding actual reviews about these turbos since mine are blown 😭😭😭 and I did not want to go stock. What is your opinion on these turbos should I get them? And what is the easiest way to do the swap can I sag the subframe instead of taking it off fully or is it easier to do the swap with subframe fully removed? Please get back to me soon I very much appreciate it. And keep up these great quality videos man 👍
Overall they are okay. Definitely would go with the eBay turbos instead of stock. I ran my 17t without a custom tune (which I heard is not good) but they did well. I daily drive the car a lot. Only issue was they front one started to leak from the charge side. Didn’t burn oil, or have rattle. I could have kept driving the car with a slight oil leak. But I tried to rebuild the turbos with new seals but didn’t end up working out. So just replaced with new 19T. 😂😅
@@elcuh7939 I think your better off dropping the sun frame all the way. Makes things easier to get to remove and install. And takes about a solid day. 8-10 hours. I’m a mechanic so maybe a someone inexperienced 2 days
@@menjicar ok thanks and I might as well since I can replace the oil pan gasket while I’m at it. And what is the tool you use to support the engine called?
