Shinhan Masters Tournament
Finals - Best of 5
NaDa 2:1 Savior - Game 4
The song that plays right before the match starts is "Sleepers" by Saosin.
Another loss for Savior would have probably made a record for consecutive defeats. But Savior managed to win game 3 and now has a small chance to win himself about $25,000 USD. With the score at 2-1, Savior cannot afford to lose another game, or it will be his first loss to his terran rival.

Three weeks ago NaDa lost to Savior in the OSL Finals 3-1. Now the tables have been turned, and NaDa finally did what he couldn't do in their last two matchups. He defeated Savior 3-1, and got paid a hefty sum for it.
The following is an interview with NaDa taken from teamliquid.net. Props to ilovezil and mrmin123 for providing a translation so us non-Koreans could understand what was going through NaDa's mind when he won.
[I'm guessing Ahn Yeon-Hong was the girl in the pink hat]
-After the battle, you shed tears.
▶It wasn't that I shed tears. In the previous finals when I did not win, I thought of my mother. At that time, I was sorry towards my family and the fans. It feels as if I paid back my debt with this victory.
-What about today's strategy?
▶All of today's battle strategies were used impromptu, inspired by strategies used in past practice games. It felt like it would work. I believed in myself.
-What of when your battle against Mah Jae Yoon was at hand?
▶I emptied my emotions. *I told myself that even if I lost I would lose giving my best*. I think I refused to look back on the past because I would become nervous. Emptying my mind before the battle worked. I just thought of Mah Jae Yoon as just a zerg. I did not think inwardly about this return match. This was because of many situations when I thought passionately about vengeance and lost myself. I merely went along with what fate had in store for me.
-What are your thoughts looking back upon last season, and forecasting this year's standings?
▶2006 season's results were good. I couldn't achieve my 4th victory, but I was constant. I am very satisfied. I think 2007 will be a good year as well.
-As the best player, can you give us a word?
▶Becoming the best is a difficult path. After that, keeping the status as best is two or three-fold more difficult. If I continue to practice hard, I believe that I will be the best for a long time. I probably cannot keep the promise of upholding my status for life, but I can keep my promise of staying in the long-run.
-Right now, who are you thinking about the most?
▶I am thinking about my mom. I think she will be happier than anyone else. My mom always said that Mah Jae Yoon was a fearsome one. She warned me to be cautious of him. However, now I can talk with confidence. I will tell her that Mah Jae Yoon is no longer a feared entity.
-What are your goals after today?
▶I want to dine together with the team members. We will celebrate with meat and wine.
-Ahn Yeon-Hong (a Korean drama/movie actress) came to watch as well.
▶*I am thankful because it seemed like she stayed and cheered on until the very end. I am also thankful because she was not just a fan of me, but a fan of the eSports scene.*
-What was the significance of the ceremony?
▶It is significant because I represent the champion world-wide. The person from America who sent me a present told me about it.*

No. What you have to do is: 1. Move the Vulture away to avoid getting hit. 2. Press P for patrol and left click on a spot between you Vulture and the enemy units. 3. Quickly click away again in the original direction to keep your Vulture moving. Repeat the 3 steps and your Vulture can be running away from any pursuing enemy units and shooting at the same time without pause.

Ok, I've never really played Starcraft, but with the announcement of SC2, I thought I'd check it out. It looks quite interesting, but I have a question, on the minimap, you can see the opponents base and all their units. Is that normal? How could you make a strategy knowing that your opponent knows where all your units are? Looks cool though, and the good players getting $200,000 US is insane! Good on them I say. Getting paid for what they love doing.

Actually that phrase wasn't invented by me. It was in some funny article about the comparisons between SC, WCIII, and Red Alert. "WCIII is the best RTS ever." "SC is a form of art created by God via the hands Blizzard" "Red Alert makes you realize that a good company is more important than a good game"
@camlito

That is true, it is a fantastic game, not a sport but look at it this way - we people are from different countries who do sports like soccer football tennis etc and people make it big, in korea this is big and if they take this seriously...don't judge them from an american point of view. and natt1 you probably said that because your korean, english is the most spoken language

Again, thank you for proving my point. "Starcraft pros are in their late 20's and none of them have died." If you are trying to win an arguement us RELEVANT or PERTINENT ideas or facts. Now, as I have done many times before to you, show me my fallacy so that you can have SOME basis for an arguement instead of just insulting the other person.

I've heard somewhere that starcraft appeared at the exact time when, in korea, computers and internet became popular and TV popularity decreased. The perfect time for a wonderful game. This won't happen in anymore because now, starcraft seems like "an old game" even in poor countries. In korea, the timing was perfect. ut you must admit that starcraft is near perfect. I play it even after 10 years.

I agree, Warcraft III is a pretty good RTS game, but Starcraft has the massive battle scenes, the destructive encounters, and the fast-paced style . I personally think Warcraft is more fun to play for amateurs though.
@Lazenca0

I strongly doubt the overload saw it. The reason why Savior built a sunken colony was because his prediction was a tab of marines in a dropship. If he had known there was a factory, he would have sent his lings to attack the factory. That's how I see it.
@TerranHasArrived
@TerranHasArrived 15 лет назад
An important thing to keep in mind is that you need to have the right amount of distance between your Vulture and the enemy units. This patrol-attack trick won't work if your Vulture is too far way. But if it gets too close, the enemy units will be able to hit the Vulture. So test out the distance for yourself and it's not really complicated at all.

What I was saying is that you can't say "SC pros die 50 years early" because none of them actually have died yet. Athletes do die early because it's a proven fact that many of them have already died in their 40's or 50's. Is this too hard for you to understand?
@TerranHasArrived
@TerranHasArrived 16 лет назад
Plus, pro-gamers don't play for all their lives; they usually play 6-8 years before having to quit to due to aging. NBA players can play for 20 years or so if they can stay play at a decent level later on. By the way, most athletes don't live to a very old age because their sports take a toll on their bodies.

nice game, always stab from the back (literally). for those of who haven't seen one of these starcraft tournaments from korea (but I believe you've heard it at some point if you are a gamer) this isn't a big game I would say. Look for Boxer_Slayer or Nal_ra (if you haven't), the games were a lot bigger few years back then, and some of players at those times, were the greatest and they were the ones who inspired many pro gamers now adays.

Want to know the real reason behind their shyness? It's actually quite funny. You see, most Starcraft matches take place when students have school/cram sessions, and a lot of the girls at the games have skipped their classes to see the matches. They don't want to be caught by their parents, so they hide their faces. ^^

i can't believe you would say, "... it's just Starcraft." they take it to the next level for a reason. in fact they almost make such a big deal out of it as if to say that it's not just a video game. there is true competition and strategy when you play. think of it like Chess. we continue to carry on a game through the ages that was invented in the 15th century. obviously it has some importance. same concept with Starcraft.

His comment is not racist. Pointing out that the best starcraft players are Koreans is not racist, it is a fact. Racism would be distorting that fact and then getting prejudices, such as immediately assuming someone plays starcraft if they are Korean, before you even though them. And you also criticize him for spelling Koreans wrong, while you do not capitalize at all, spell you as u, and leave out the ' in what's. Yes, while online I would mostly type like you, but not criticize others over it.

Actually, it's done "patrol-attacking", i.e. you move away from the target, then you "patrol-move" in the opposite direction (don't click the unit, just next to it). Somehow the StarCraft engine will then cause the vulture to immediately attack and then turn instead of turning and then attacking, as with a normal right click. The final step is, to immediately after the attack right click away from the unit again. Rinse and repeat....

But Iloveoov was a different story. he pushed in predictable timing but his overwhelming number of troops baffled everyone.
