The diplomat in the story was the son of the high king so the shaved beard was put in the GREAT book of grudges which is the book for the whole dwarf race hold by the high king
damn, Malekith must be like "my intention was to make the Elves and Dwarves go to war, but damn did they made my job a looooooot easier than needed....... shit i barely needed to do anything here"
@@jimmytuplano3843Blame can also be laid at the feet of the dwarves for not taking a second to explain the situation, launching an investigation, not throwing accusations without showing evidence, and most importantly NOT DRAWING A WEAPON ON A FOREIGN RULER.
So the evil sorcerer that put part of his power into magical artifacts, who's soul just recreates his body after millennia. This guy is straight up Sauron.
@@zaxbitterzen2178 Nah, Sauron IS very difficult to defeat. Think about it. Even with one of the humblest cultures most resistant to the temptations of the ring, the quest was nearly lost. Had Bilbo not found the ring, it would have been picked up by a goblin, and then made its way to Mordor, and Sauron would have assumed full power. Sauron managed to corrupt the head of the wizard order. He rebuilt his army. And this was him on life support or in a zipped backup hard drive. So yes, he was hard to defeat. And that's not getting into his heyday of dark power. Apparently in the ancient times, he was basically the sword arm of Satan.
@@bthsr7113what's more amazing is that Wizard was of the same type of being as him. Basically a lesser angel. Furthermore, its implied the only reason the ring was even destroyed in the end was because the literal Stand in for the Abrahamic God intervened.
I'd say that Trazyn is slightly more dickish simply because Nagash does what he does for power, which is a justifiable motivation, whilst Trazyn does it to feed his side hobby or mess with his old frenemy Orikan which just makes it all a little bit pettier overall.
I'd actually argue the opposite. Power for power's sake is a dark motivation. And Nagash wants to rule with a death iron fist. Trazyn lacks that kind of malice in general. He's just happy hoarder thief. Nagash is a despoiler, schemer, and betrayer.
nagash screwing with the natives near his fortress nagashizzar also created the cannibalistic ghouls. personally im all down for high queen khalida and richter kreugar. complete archetypes of being undead while hating vampires/necromancers and rejecting any kind of cooperation out of principle. also: ashniel had it coming being squashed by nagash with a pillar after how she screwed over alith anar. the war of the beard stuff included cutting flesh from the envoys chin as well, so the hair had no chance to regrow. this is bad because their beards were for the dwarfs not only a link to their ancestors but also key to finding their way into the afterlife. but the shaven envoys basically founded the dwarvish tradition to take the oath of the slayer, so at least they got a way to channel their grief and humiliation while absolutely getting wasted at every given opportunity. by the way female warhammer dwarfs dont have beards
Yeah, the Ancient Egyptians (and many others) had a bad habit of erasing records that were inconvenient to their immediate needs. Like chiseling away a forefather's name to take credit for their building commissions. Which is even more fricked up when you consider how their mythology around souls worked. By defacing the name and rubbing them out of historical records, the souls of the dead were being eroded in the afterlife. Elves don't have to be jerks all the time. It's tiring and lazy writing. This was supremely dickish by Elf Jerk standards. So Ainz times Skeletor times Sauron? Fabius is a good thematic and attitude analogue. Way lower in his setting's relative food chain, but a thematic fit. Kind of similar Trazyn, but Trazyn actually likes what he collects and doesn't want to rule or burn the world. This channel actually made an intro video to battletech as both a setting and tabletop war game. Ttalking about the pros and cons compared to GW.
As a counterpoint to "all elves are assholes", Caledor Dragontamer created the vortex with the hope that he would be trapped inside of it, maintaining it, for the rest of eternity. And Teclis is generally decent, prefers Diplomacy & Teamwork, helped Magnus the Pious with the Great War Against Chaos, and founded the Colleges of Magic so that 1. Mankind wouldn't keep falling to chaos accidentally because they had no idea what the f*ck they were doing, and 2. So that they had the use of Magic, like healing, alchemy, excorcisms, banishing deamons, protections from demons, and predicting when catastrophe's were likely to occur in order to cut it off as early as possible. With the best explosives they pyrotechnicians could produce. I also haven't really heard anything bad about Finubar the Seafarer, and what I have heard is neutral-to-good, granted, I haven't heard much.
23:08 my thoughts on how that went down; Nagash," nah nah nah you can't stop me!" Big boom in the background and then a skaven corpse lands at his feet. Nagash, " HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT THE ME DAMNED RATS!!!!!!" Chaos gods laugh in the background. Necroquake still mostly works, Nagash, "HAHAHAHAHA I STILL WIN!"
@@thelion2751 Matt Ward didn't get the final say in his books, games workshop did. If you want to be mad at someone as to why your favorite blue boys are a little too overpowered or why Trayzn is playing Pokemon in 40K then get mad at GW.
@@dukedevlan5457 Yvraine:"Oh no who tf is this guy?!" Nagash:"lol lmao i'm Nagash and you are now my personal army,it doesn't matter if you want or not..."
Most Warhammer villains: "I'm going to slaughter lots of people in the world because the alternative is worse/I have no choice." Nagash: "Hi everybody! I know I don't own them, but I want all your bones and souls and I'm not asking."
Nagash in theory has more power, But Ainz is wiser and nicer. Mind you, nicer is a VERY relative term when it comes to Nazarik, but I stand by that. Stargate the movie was okay, but it spawned off some solid TV. Not perfect mind you, but solid.
