It also might be worth pointing out that the stick nailer can also have "wrong" nails. That particular gun, as you showed, takes the wire-weld nails, which are 28 degrees. The Paper tape nails, are usually at 30 degree angle and will not fire properly in that gun. Although... I have found 28 degree galvanised nails which are paper, probably so the wire weld doesn't damage the zinc coating.
I have a Bostitch BTF83WW that takes 28 degree wire weld nails but I also use 21 degree plastic strip galvanized nails in it too without any problems. just have to beak the strip in half to load them.
Any recommendations on the best nail gun and type of nails to use for hardie siding and that thick hardie trim boards? Thank you for the video and your time
Great video..but can anyone help,my bostitch coil nailer doesn't spin the coil as i shoot, after every shot i have to rotate the nails manually...any suggestions on what can be the problem
You could. Use a test picket to adjust nail depth and get stainless nails or galvanized. I just did a cedar fence with narrow crown staples and it worked well.
Yes it can IF you can find the right nails to match your job and gun's requirements. So you need ribbed nails that are around 1-1/2" to 2" long (and coated to suit your wood type), depending on your purlin/rail thickness. Since the purlins/rails are so expensive, I'd buy a 2x6 and rip them in half. The 'home improvement' industry is a gigantic RIP-OFF!
What if you only have 3 to 5 nails can you just put about 5 nails in this nail gun. Will it still be able to work will it still be to shoot out the nails when you only got is about 5 nails ?
Hey Jason, the problem is, every nailgun manufacturer has a different wire and head diameter per type of nail. That's DELIBERATE to FORCE everybody to buy THEIR NAILS. WTF is that? It's EXTORTION. So tell me, who makes a nailgun that can take anybody's nail diameters for the same nail length range? Don't tell me it's impossible to do, b/c I design machinery for a living and could easily design a nailgun to accommodate nails like this. I just can't get it out to manufacture, b/c that CRIMINAL SYNDICATE is all locked-up by evil financiers. There's a reason the guy put those nails in his nailgun. It's b/c he's thinking like me, USING COMMON SENSE. Imagine if we had to buy a different framing hammer (like an Estwing) to match the NAIL MANUFACTURER's nails we buy? ABSURD!
