Believe it or knot, pun intended, I could not figure out that nail knot tool that is on most of the nippers that you can buy now, I just didn’t understand it. I’ve got quite a few knots under my belt but not too many I have about four I tie really good but I don’t like tying the blood knot. But getting a new reel and lines I wanted to tie nail knots from my backing to fly line instead of looping it cause I felt like I was just trying to get away with something because I was intimidated by that nail knot tool, also I’d rather have my leader to fly line the same way instead of tying the loop if it’s not already there. So I seen yours and like I said it took me about twice and I got it pretty much down after that, I was very happy, it wasn’t pretty at first but it’s getting better and it holds. Then I told myself if o could do that then I could probably figure out that tool and I finally figured it out not that I need it thanks to you but it’s on my nippers none the less. I’ve got a few of those tools and I find them fun to mess around with but if I’m tying let’s say the Davy knot that I primarily use by the time I get the tool out and get it all set up I can already have it halfway done without the tool. But the app it came with taught me a few new ones and I know in the future my hands are going to need a little help do to what I did for a living. I’m sorry I wrote you such a long text, I just wanted to express my gratitude. You have actually given me some confidence, isn’t that a little lame, I was intimidated by a knot! I’m like that with the blood knot also but only with smaller tippets. But I’d much rather tie a surgeons knot than a blood knot any day, I’ve never had them fail. I just want to get the blood knot down Pat with small tippet just for my ego. Thanks again, you really made my day! Randy Eggleston.
