@@MI-lo2hj i'm not complaining, i literally stated the solution 😄 but I actually would like to do some teaching in the future at some point or another; ur suggestion is a genuine one! Thank you i truly appreciate it! 💝
I’m in a grammar school and still our school has done no practice for unseen, and I’ve done it all myself. Happy you’ve done this for us man, your vids are super helpful
@@bandorrr I think they were just saying that because it makes the fact that it wasn't covered more surprising, I don't think they were trying to flex lol
I haven't done the whole video but here are my thoughts -There may be an extended metaphor of love/guidance in the "poem", which gives a reassuring tone in repeating "I love you" -The usage of warmth and cold in the forms of clothing and weather is... oddly homely to me? -Rhyme is used sparingly, it kind of gives a melodic rhythm in lines 24-25 or contrasts it (why is it irregular?) -Love is also sacrificial somewhat in having "nothing else to give"
@Abigail X Not really - the first question is worth 28 marks in 2022 and is an essay. The comparison question is focusing much more so on literary techniques, and is only really 2 or 3 paragraphs, worth 8 marks.
I genuinely feel that the omission of the form and structure from the mark schemes is an error. Are you basing the claim that you don't need to write about form and structure solely on the omission from the specimen mark scheme? If so, I'd be careful; writing about a poem without talking about form and structure seems ridiculous to me, and I can't find anywhere on AQA's website where they consciously say they've removed this requirement for any logical reason.
@@charlottecarpenter2128 AQA Website says AO1 & AO2 & AO4 are assessed, no information about removal of form and structure from AO2.. so probably not right
Hi sir, quick question, when you said we no longer need to write about form and structure is that confirmed and will we not be marked down for it, also would you still recommend writing about it if we feel confident in it
Would you get extra marks if you evaluate different perspectives of a reference, for example 'I have nothing else to give you' implies the narrator's lack of wealth to show his love for the person he is writing to, although it could suggest his love for the person is priceless and cannot be subsituted for anything else.
your interpretations should be detailed if you're giving other perspectives with analysis. if so, then you will get marks as long as it's relevant and clear.
Thank you very much. This video has been very helpful and is the perfect length for me to watch and then write up my plan to the question. I now have a clear understanding of how to break down the poem in the exam tomorrow. Would be helpful if you could also share some techniques on the 8 marker comparison so we know what type of things to include there too :)
Hi sir, great help as usual! But I just wanted to confirm, where did you get that information from that we are not going to be assessed on structure and form? Thank you. EDIT: I found it. It was in the AQA sample paper mark schemes for 2022 as Mr. Salles shows us a screenshot in the video.
Can you argue that: " the enjambment creates a sense of flow and continuity, which mirrors the overwhelming sense of love that the speaker feels, as if they are spill over from one line to the next without interruption"?
so if I write about structure and form and it’s valid to the point would you get marks or would they just ignore or because I commonly write about structure like enjambment or rhymes and form like sonnets so if I point that out will they just ignore it? thanks so much for your videos btw absolute life saver
I’m not a teacher or anything but I’d assume that you’ll get credit for writing about it but won’t be penalised for not writing about like you normally would.
@@zo2512 ty I was thinking they wouldn’t ignore it, just doesn’t seem too effective considering that’s what we’ve been taught to write about. LOVE ur pfp too:))
I don’t think it’s confirmed what this guys saying about the form and structure bit we’ve done unseen quite extensively in my class in the last 2 years and analysing the structure has been pretty drilled into us
Its the advanced info for just unseen poetry, its not that you dont need it, its if you dont include it you wont be limited from top marks - so its still good to include for more marks
I'm pretty sure you will still get marked for it, but it's not penalised if you don't add it. If pointing out structure supports your point then by all means, go for it! Edit: read the side-note on the video here 1:44
Why have I only just found out now that we won’t be marked on structure and form. Nothing on AQA website about this. Not what I need the night before an exam.
I've never heard before that we don't have to write about form and structure for the 2022 exams... could anyone please say where on their website or anything it says that?
Thanks for this video, in literature if you only reference to the extract through one quote and do not analyse and only mention the quote is that fine or will that make my essay significantly worse. I used my own quotes and knowledge for 99% of the essay and only included a quote from the extract, is that fine?
This poem reminds me of a film that I watched years ago and the film had me rewinding and rewinding it so much Every time I came away with a new meaning of it and times I had to search my brain to ask about such a GREAt film 9and 1\2 weeks and it was not until I listen to this poem I want to learn more of the film meaning So not to be rude in mentioning something else it causes me to think about compassion that I never learned what it means but I need to search the web to know if I can search by tube and they have it in the library if so, I might be rewatching that film to learn its meaning so Possible comprehend this kind of poem that reminds if what I never learned from writing it reminds me of I must watch that film and if you saw it before it's one of those mind-boggling thinkers bit most definitely great to learn and watch poverty words similar and not spoken Don't know how to word it but if you haven't ever seen that fill it's a must-watch and one would know what I try to say with thee comparisons of conceptions words spoken or not A must see the film is all I can seem to focus on which the paper is my focus for writing and the film is so similar but different at the same time Difficult to explain but after watching the film 9and 1\2 weeks And teacher this again is another great class I learn something about what is similar and what continues to learn what is written for the grade and the film to way h again for me to learn how to compare what I think to be similar Again another great class but I have gotta go watch the film if they have it online, it was so good and a thinker of the symbol scarf 🧣 Thank you
Hi I wrote my GCSE exam on blue pen for power and Conflict and Inspector calls because I didn't realise it says write in black will the examiner's not mark my exam now ?
no it should be fine the colour is only used because black is easier to see when printed out for marking so they will still mark yours definitely it just might be harder to see is all so dw
will there be one or two questions for the poetry section? this analysis one and maybe a comparison? im sure ive seen the comparison question but it might have just been classwork, just making sure
what did u think of the poetry question? considering your prediction and all our teachers encouraging us to revise identity/ nature, I though it was pretty nasty
