Thanks John. Peter Tyson are lucky to have you on their team. I got into B&O because of you lol! I think if Naim tweaked the design on this one slightly they could give B&O a run for their money!

Thank you so much! The build and sound on the Naim already gives B&O a run for the money to be honest. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I can't say that one looks better than the other, depends on what you like. Thank you for watching - John.

Hahaha that joke in the beginning… qb stands for cube. Only now I’m aware…

I owned a Muso gen 1 and sold it because the bass was really overpowering for a small room. Then I picked up a QB2 and now have the opposite problem, not enough bass for my tastes at low to mid volume levels which I find really strange considering it has a dedicated 100w woofer. It is a lovely sounding speaker other than that. I since picked up two Denon Home 350s for a better stereo image and they also fill in the missing bass at low volumes. I use all three speakers together over airplay and the sound is really very pleasing to my ears!

Can they be linked up in stereo pairing?

Hi john how can you compare this to beolab8?
@Peter-Tyson
@Peter-Tyson 6 месяцев назад
Personally, for sound alone I would take either Naim over a single Beolab 8. The Beolab 8 is very pretty and well built, Naim is just as well built if not as pretty. I would take a pair of Beolab 8 over the single Naim but that's not fair as the cost is closer to £6K! John

Can you compare it to other b&of products? Like beosound 2 or beosound balance?
@Peter-Tyson

B&O is perhaps prettier, I quite like the styling and sound of Beosound 2. I prefer the sound of both of the Naim units though and you'll save some money. If you can, have a listen somewhere and see what you think. - John

Thanks. Do you have tried the formation series of b&w? I have a stero pair of the formation flex and for the price point they sound really good. The only problem I have is that they do not have wired connections and that I don’t know how future proof they are. B&O products seem to be built for keeping them a life time, especially products like the beosound level.

Beosound 2 in terms of sound is better. I would put this Naim between Beoplay M5 (near wall settings) and Beosound 2. Beosound 1 sound worse (less natural) than M5. If I was you I would get M5 to save money and then move to Naim QB 2 or Beosound 2.

Does this have google assistant built in?
@Peter-Tyson

It has Google Chromecast built in for streaming music but not a voice assistant. Because it has Chromecast you can add a voice assistant by linking a Google Nest Mini or one of the Google Nest Hub smart displays and setting the Naim as the default music speaker. - John

Qb2 vs BeO A5 ony SQ please(??).
@Peter-Tyson

I have used both at home. A5 can be bass heavy and sounds like a Bluetooth speaker in my opinion. In terms of clarity, depth and overall sound quality I chose Qb2 for our kitchen, it's far more like hifi - musical and enjoyable to listen to. - John

@@Peter-Tyson Is Qb2 able to convey energy and speed in heavy music, such as metal? Does it correctly reflect the scale of electronic music, its depth and palpability... or is it too slow for something like that? I guess the Beo A5 does it effortlessly with that kind of bass and tuning. Can You elaborate?

I'm totally befuddled as to how people can listen to the QB2 or even the Muso2 and say the bass is deep or powerful or even sufficient. All I can say is that these people are just not honest. The lower registers are totally and completely missing.

It's relative to how you perceive bass, if you are looking for boosted bass that adds low frequency energy to everything that's played then the Naim is not a system for you. It's incredibly accurate for it's size and has ample power when the music calls for it. It's also dependent on settings, positioning, the room it's placed in, your position in relation to it and so on.... There is much more to the sound than just bass and treble, I personally find the both Naim systems hugely enjoyable and tremendously musical, I only gave my opinion from my personal experience. - John

I have the muso 2 and the bass is good but not strong. I had a McIntosh RS-150 and the bass was amazing but no mids and the highs were muffled. I exchanged for the muso 2. It sounds much better in my opinion, however I will be getting a sub for it. The McIntosh RS250 blows both of them out of the water but is out of my price range. But I like my music bright, and listen to the background tones rather than the surface so the muso fits the bill for my taste.

@@Peter-Tyson I agree with you that both the Naims sound amazingly good and are enjoyable but I don't agree that other speakers that have more bass must be artificially boosted. When I listen to the same tracks on the KEF LSX II, I hear sounds in the lower frequencies that I don't hear at all in the Naims. Both the Naims are not faithful in reproducing sound. They depend on bass removal to achieve the extreme clarity that makes their sound so admirable.
