Incredible findings NTV. I mean this are the things you should bring out more to the eyes of the public rather than politics. We are tired of watching politicians in every burial or wedding speak. It's too much. Bring such important matters to light.

I'm so Annoyed. this is so annoying!! While NTV has done a great job by covering this, all I see is old people talking about solutions which they have not implemented. I am so fed up of these old people in leadership who do absolutely NOTHING for us! The youth need to stand up and act because this is beyond acceptable!!! 😡😡

This documentary has been wonderfully done. Excellent commentary and brilliant camerawork. I very rarely come across a 45-minute documentary on these local channels that captures my full attention from start to finish. Kudos to Charity Mwangi and everyone else who was involved in this.

As a Kenyan living in Egypt whose sole source of water is the nile .its not that much polluted because its heavily protected by the government however we still have treated filter system nearly in all urban houses. Majority of the people here have it in their kitchen so this water is used for drinking,cooking etc .it might not be 100 percent safe but people here trust it .so Kenyans should start having treated filter systems dug in every household For people that can't afford this filter system or don't have constant reliable water supply such as the slums or the rural (which is crucial)the government or ngos or anyone should figure our ways of building boreholes ,wells whose water is filtered and treated There should be system set aside in managing those areas and strict rules applied to pollutants Human activity will continue there is no way this river is going to be revived we should figure out ways in which clean water is supplied to every kenyan Humans:(

The government has the power and capability to make it right here. Build a high wall along the rivers from their sources,equipped with CCTV cameras and electric fences just like they do in wild animal conservancies. Redirect all sewer lines that head into the river and heavily punish transgressors.

we kept visiting 14 falls with friends and wondered why it was dirty and smelly and the area is not really populated that much...now i see why..the dirt just comes and comes chocking anything living in the water

There are soo many high rise apartments in athiriver without sewage disposal mechanism, all they have is large drainage tunnel that goes direct to a large concrete trech that drains everything to athiriver

A 'Nation' is the people not landscape, water is LIFE; indeed we are over 70% water over flesh and bones! A wealthy nation is a healthy one, and health begins with clean water resources! Nairobi and her environs grapple with perennial acute water shortages while the same substance flows through her veins, polluted and reeking death. This is such a shame, a show of a vision-less non-caring leadership leading the population towards doom and absolute failure while hogging the limelight with meaningless useless political garbage! And to imagine we have a whole ministry mandated with environmental issues, and a loud authority mandated with ensuring the environment is protected (NEMA) insults all senses of intelligence. Elective politics have proven a failure in this continent, and particularly our Kenya; we watch populations invade riparian areas with impunity yet abundant laws decorate papers that gather dust, law enforcers are compromised or ordered to leave prospective 'votes' be. Listening to Joe Mutambu of AWS tells you the political animal has not much thought on actual impact on our health as a nation, but is geared towards lucrative elective office for freebies and opulence! We are a lost people unless we find our souls in this dark night of our own creation. Nature never forgives errors of greed, and her vengeance is worse than any hell you can imagine!

Happens when no system works for the common man.

Each county that the river flows through should have the burden of purifying the water before the river flows into it’s next destination. Factories that dump chemicals into the river should be highly fined. That’s the only way to keep it safe for human consumption. With population increase, the dumping of human waste into the rivers will sadly still go on.

Politicians & Government: I promise if you vote for me 2022 i will do this and this...... People: Lets vote for nani.... anatuachia mia mbili kila mtaa.... CANCER: They will start planning for the river come 2022, in the meantime lets go get these nuggets!

wow! Just wow! Yaani raw sewage just empties into the river? Sonko needs to do something with the help of the national govt. For starters why can they set a sewage treatment plant in Athi river (Machakos) coz I dont see how they will control the pollution being emptied into the river in the slums unless they demolish them!

If humanity abandoned Nairobi and the entire city became Africa's pripyat, these rivers would heal themselves in two years. All the beautiful papyrus and fauna and marine life would return. Blame the foolishness of mankind for this destruction especially that of the Kenyan government, which is the biggest threat to the existence of Kenya because it has been managed by deranged people and continues to this day.
