Namalsk DayZ The God like Event!!! What Was That!!!? (EVR/Psionic Storm) 

Originally they are from the STALKER games, but Sumrak did an amazing job fitting them into Namalsk's gameplay.

@@DigitalHi5 Sometimes when you are in buildings you can hear people walking around above you or things getting knocked over. It's a really creepy map especially for those who never played it on Arma 2.

Honestly, never even heard of Arma prior to hearing of DayZ few months ago... Enjoying the development over the past few months though.

I was legit freaked out for a long while. I'm glad the guy didn't kill, I was so scared out of my mind I didn't hear him coming at all.

The rareness I think is knowing when it'll happen.. I honestly don't know though.. I played 5 hours last night and did not experience it.

Game consoles don't get mods

Though the 1.14 EXP is live on consoles and that's bringing some new features.

This is as far as I understand. On the island of Namalsk was found some artifact that was discovered could create a wormhole to another planet. A private company started to experiment on this technology. These experiments were causing some problems in the rest of the world I guess, though I don’t know what kind of problems. But a combined NATO/Russian force surrounded the island and ordered the company to cease the experiments. Due to the company not complying they chose to launch a nuke on the artifact site. When the nuke hit, the wormhole was open and the vast majority of the blow was taken on the other side of the portal but the site was destroyed. The destruction of the site didn’t however destroyed the portal which remained open, it just severely destabilised it. So every now and then the portal overloads in it’s attempt to realign and the discharge of this energy is what causes the anomaly storm that affect the whole island.

I enjoy the additional challenge it adds. I'd rather survive the elements vs oh great, spawn killed in Vorkuta again..

@@DigitalHi5 there's your mistake. Do not go to vorkuta unless you need meds from the hospital. go to jalovisko, its got better food spawns anyway.

Namalsk is a unofficial map, so all servers are a modded server.. it is created by the head map designer though.

It's inspired from the game STALKER. Namalsk has inspiration from a few awesome games. HalfLife Easter eggs can be found in a few locations.

Not really.. it can be bad at times... but it has a lot of survival aspects that actually make it a challenge. A lot of time it's about adventure and teaming up to survive.
