Wishlisted this Inmediatly! this is a dream game for lots of people, a 2d sandbox basketball game with mod suport, customization and in depth game modes, people creating teams, leagues, players, something similar like people can do in Fire pro wrestling , man I always asked myself why nobody tried this before, I wish I had the knowleged. I would love to see some layup animations too, one thing I hated about the old bball games was getting close to the basket and the player doing a jumpshot haha, the dunks look fire tho! The sprites and the animations are beautifull been a former animator myself I´m absolutely loving how good and smooth it looks though I would like the players to be more like the old genesis era games just for the aesthetics and more serious look this is an absolute gem of a game! keep it up!

Great Devlog and wonderful progress so far! I've gone ahead and wishlisted the game and I look forward to seeing where the game goes. As far as things to add they're totally optional but the ability to crossover or step back would be a fun touch to mix things up offensively. I love the drive and kick mechanic to add to the dynamics of offensive flow. Being able to call screens would be a cool touch but could be overused to make defenses not feel as important like I've seen in other basketball sims. Honestly though whatever you come up with I'm going to check out either way, everything looks great!

💯OOH! alsoo hope u read this, for halftime u should make a halftime show with the 8bit crew and like the commentator should be like, halftime show brought to u by tireswingames then they show stats and say the la legends are doing good if they keep it up they could come out with the win, the gladiators need to change their gameplan to get back into this one. Or something like that, but yeah i just came to mind.maybe add like different camera angles or like timeouts u can sub in player and itll show the bench or the crowd. when not just scoring add like ambience crowd, not just onl when they score and if a team is getting close to the basket the crowd gets louder when they miss depending on away and home team
I can't wait to play this game! As someone who is just getting into coding (Python), I'm thankful that you shared some of what you implemented certain aspects to the game. I have no idea what JSON is, but I've heard of it and some of the terms were familiar to me so that was kinda neat lol The dunking is so cool, my favorite part of Pixel Soccer Cup is being able to watch the game (cpu vs cpu) while studying or doing something else in the background. When I play the game, my go to mode is Story itself where I take my fictitious team - that include most of my buddies in discord - and try to win the Cup by building my players stats slowly. The grinding in that game is quite enjoyable. I'm on season 7 and barely have scratched the yearly tournament cup and the world cup. Sometimes I stream the game to them and they absolutely are in awe by their in game character's goal or assist. Having a deep franchise mode with yearly MVP and stats and the ability to create and edit players would be very interesting to me and my buddies. Even the ability to trade players would be really cool. Reallly excited to see where you go with this game and I'll be following along until release day! :D
Thanks! I really enjoy Pixel Cup Soccer too. CPU v CPU is already supported. The game will also allow you to sim games without watching them. Thanks for following. I can't wait to let you play the game. Also, good luck with coding. Godot's GDScript syntax is very similar to Python. I actually cut 4 minutes out of this video because I was rambling about technical stuff. I may do some videos in the future focusing completely on the technical side of things.

Just found your game. Cannot wait for the release and will purchase. How much will the game cost though? Just wanted to know do you plan to add every nba team to it (really hoping for toronto raptors) and will there be character customisation so we can kind of have our own "careers". Also would love to see a video called future updates. I know I am asking for a lot but thankyou. Also am really liking this game and am a big fan of basketball and gaming so I am hyped. There will be a team inspired by each NBA team, so Toronto will be there. And the game is fully moddable, so you can create any teams you would like. Characters will be customizable. WOW! its good too see u made this much progress, as soon as i saw the DEVLOG 0 i just knew this was gonna be good, its good too see progress, u can add difficulty if not yet like Easy, Medium, Normal, Hard, Extreme. Im definilty gonna play franchise mode, once your done with the game, improve the graphics alil like shadowws, court mirror animated crowd animations like if the home team scores they cheer if away team they look upset, when freethrows for away team make the screen shake too make it more difficult and realistic! gameplay improvement, make it where u can call screens and make the ball player put up a fist too make it realistic. Add handles like between legs and behind back. if a handles rating is low the player will have a chance of losing the ball or not being able to do that move. make a mycareer type of game mode as well. like My Court Heroe where u upgrade go through college or highschool and have a chance at the nba! Flags/ penaltys, if u dunk on the rim for too long they call a technical or foul. I think ive said this before but add arena organ or something, start off basic if u need to like beats or lets go team. also. When u can, add a commentator for the best of realism, I love toosee this game coming along and i cant wait for u too blow up. I hope the best for the game and yourself! Keep it upp!

Thanks for the question. There are already some attributes that can be edited that determine skill in various aspects of the game. I do plan to implement player (and team) tendencies that will control their general approach to the game when being controlled by the CPU - so some teams will be more halfcourt offense, some are more transition run-and-gun based, etc. As for a My Player or career mode, that is something that will be after release if there's enough demand for it. But the game definitely is a simcade and I want to focus on a very solid franchise mode at a team or organization level first.
Is there a possibility to add different languages? I am Spanish and I love how the game looks and it would be great to be able to play it in my language. Greetings and good job.
I have not paid for any translation services yet, but the game is being built to support localization. My plan is to support English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Italian.
Just found this game and I hope the best for it. I have a dream basketball game that shares the vision you seem to have on your game. simple graphics, deep single player, stats and just pure joy of playing different teams and players, responsive controls and deep rock,paper, scisors like mechanicks on the gameplay. Basketball Classics from Nammo Games almost did it for me, and i believe with modding suppport and people updating rosters there is so much potencial for "simple yet simulation"sports games like this one. Too bad we only have 2K doing their crap as the only alternative.. Anyway, I'm wishlisting and hoping we get some early acces soon. Keep it up :D
