Enel vs Eneru is a translation debate we've had for a long time. The core of the problem is that Japanese uses different letters to English, and the letter ル can be read as lu or as ru. Eneru is a direct translation for each letter in the name, but Enel is how it's pronounced.

Eneru is a bad translation thing. You know how in japanese L sound more like R ? As if you'd try to say (Ene[rolled r]) So it sound like Eneru. Was the same with Alvida's, I've seen people write it (Aruvida)

Both "enel" and "eneru" are accurate. In Japanese, the latters L and N are interchangeable, as they make the sane rolled R sound. Additionally, Japanese words never rnd in a consonant, except for N.so "Enel" would ve pronounced like "ener/lu" in practice. Just lusten to how the characters say it and youll get the jist.

Robin is my favourite this arc.

The deeper you get into arcs the less episode you get each time because the recap + intro + credits eat up so much run time. I swear there are some later episodes that barely have 10 minutes of new story in them because of that. So in that regard a "43 episode arc" isn't actually as long as it seems like based on that number. You could fastforward through all of that (and to be honest some of the overlong fights too) and probably cut some of these arcs by a third or more.

Ls and Rs are processed differently by Japanese speakers, its their Sibboleth test.

Eneru is the proper English translation! Enel is the bad Japanese translation! Japanese has THREE ALPHABETS in it's ONE language that contradicts with itself on how things are said in their language! They say it both ways.

Skypiea is OK. Reason we're not high on it is probably because we know what comes next, and it pales in comparison. I thought Water 7/Enies Lobby saga would be the best of the first half when it was over. I was wrong, Sensai Oda topped it somehow, but when you're done with that, Skypiea will just be a bump you had to get over on the way.

16:07 Well no, actually Eneru matches his name in english better than Enel. Its just written Enel, just like Ruffy is written Luffy. The pronunciation of l and r in japan is the same. So you might say its translated bad, yes. But I would argue the name of a person is determined by its pronunciation not by its written form, which in fact would mean its a good translation. And at least you clearly hear them say eneru and ruffy.

I think when people say the 2 arcs are similar, it’s with your issues with character deaths. Death is rare in OP. It does happen but not often. The stakes in arcs are going to be the situation happening more than the life and death of characters. Those situations may mean deaths of thousands of no named people though.

Zoan = Animals (Bison, Human, Dogs etc.) Logia = Elements (Smoke, Fire etc.) so not necessary scientific elements, but nature based elements Paramecia = Everything else (Rubber, explosive snot, weight manipulation etc.) Important is also, that Logias can turn into their respective element and are therefore impervious to physical damage unless you know their weakness. Like water for Crocs sand Logia.

So the indigenous people are the Shandia, and their nation is Shandora (it's a little more complex than that but it's as close as you need to know). Oda has a very interesting take on colonialism in this arc, but I'll not spoil it.

There are often issues of mistransliteration. The "r" and "l" letters and sounds in English don't... exist in the same way in Japanese, and are sometimes confused. Zoro is still "Zolo" in the manga, decades later. However, with the anime, there are people speaking the words, and though the text may read "Zolo" or "Eneru," people are SAYING "Zoro" and "Enel." This, of course, causes arguments online, because what doesn't. And you think THIS arc is long? My child.
