@Odell Mateo boomer is a mindset, not an age. backing tracks are here to stay along with plugins and all kinds of other amazing modelling tech and its not my fault that you're yearning for a bygone age that you've never even experienced or would even have nostalgia for. good luck in the dark ages.
@@chadmarx7718 Exactly. In my opinion personally, I believe compositions > technical ability. For e.g. Malmsteen is insanely fast and technical but you couldn't pay me to listen to any of his songs coz it just sounds like endless shredding that gets painfully boring after 10 seconds. (again, just my personal opinion)
@@chadmarx7718 i think plini has proven time and time again to be as technical as the people who inspired him. As a matter of fact, he used tender surrender as his one of his college audition songs, so that says a lot about his technique
@@chadmarx7718 i mean listening to a song like pastures he definitely is a very technical player as well, he just seems to focus a lot more on the song itself instead of the playing if ykwim
@@chadmarx7718 I wouldn't say he lacks the technical ability, more so that he writes superior compositions that don't necessarily need to show off his speed/technical skills. Dudes a beast on the strings, but also as a writer.
This is so tasty! The playing and tones are good and so of course, but the fun they're having, and the saturated smiles make it even better. I always thought that the older Plini songs were even more brilliant, but now I see them playing this, it makes a whole lot more sense! These songs are definetely meant to be more chill-out and fun. The older songs were a lot more intense emotionally. These songs are warm, deliciously smelling hot chocolate on a snowy winter day, whereas the older ones (the End of Everything for example) were sleeping outside, in the mountains, under a sky filled with stars we can never fathom. Now I see, hear and feel the difference, I think I'll enjoy the new songs equally as much! Thanks for sharing!
@@Blow_Up_Mars haha, exactly! Suddenly you'll play sick riffs, melodic solos, you'll be able to shred like Plini, orchestrate every song to absolutely no extent, and have that charisma. 😂
@@jordandumas662 Yeah me too but when you think that you can have the same quality for a much lower price. I don't know what to do, because I don't know your situation but for a student like me it's a REAL hole in my budget and it's make me think twice 😅
@@requintueur yeah I'm a broke college student currently. But hopefully as the months pass, the price on this bass drops and becomes more "reasonable". If not there are definitely more options
It's always so satisfying watching both Plini and Simon playing together, I'm convinced that they have a better bromance than plini and aaron lol. Anyway, who else is wondering what's the VST's that plini uses in his backtracking? We're all about his guitar, but the backtracking adds SO MUCH to his tone as well... especially those choirs at 2:54 and the marimba thingy that follows after that. Those are one of the most prominent instruments from his first EP's and hearing them again makes it somewhat nostalgic.
@@pmaster1173 strandberg and many other headless instruments are quite a bit shorter in overall length compared to their headed counterparts for obvious reasons. also idk if you thought they were talking about the scale length, because I'm sure that is still in standard scale length.
Strandberg Guitars. I love to see them, and would love to test one out one day, and also would love to buy one someday! Preferably the Sälen Deluxe VB model, which is a telecaster style Strandberg, two tele single coil pickups, semi-hollow and it just looks absolutely mesmerising!
So is he using the NTS here??? It looks like it, as the tuner is moving but I'm a bit confused haha (And what an odd choice of plugin for Plini, at least I wouldn't expect it. Maybe to show the diversity of Neural 👍)
That standberg bass doesn't have the same smooth punch in the low mids as the Lefay..not even in the same league! honestly i sound like a tool but this is a NAMM show vid and gear geeks are out there. Stay with Lefay Mr Grove.
It's also A. A plugin. B: A remixed recording most likely. C: A RU-vid compressed video. This probably sounded even better live. You're hearing it after many things have happened.
It is multiscale but not full fanned frets. For full fanned frets you are looking at a 27" scale on the bottom strings, 25.5 on the top. This particular model is 25 on the top strings, 25.5 on the bottom strings. So it's a little shorter, more Gibson like (Gibson is 24 3/4"), soft and great for bends on the top strings and strat type tension on the top.
