It's a video from a convention. It was going to sound trash regardless. Why don't you just...you know...equalize it? 😶 Surely whatever you're watching this on has an equalizer or some sort of sound profile options.
Andy was looking like here comes the bloody guy from Sounds And Gears ,I'm bloody ready for him,and St Joe come up on Andy like Andy was in the wrong hood, 😂🤣 thanks Joe for asking the questions that some are afraid to ask.🔥👍🏿😎.
So Love my AKAI gear. I got an MPCX and a MPCLive and I'm just having so much fun. Thanks for these new product's. Sounds and Gear thanks for asking those hard questions. Looking forward to more more updates from AKAI. Man I'm usually at NAMM but my schedule just didnt allow it this year. Joe keep it real man that's why I subscribe
Man you NEVER fail to get the info ...lol. You was NOT playing with Andy lol.... especially when he tried to challenge you to make a beat lol...you was like NAH NAH NAH !!
Great little interview! Looks like you got Andy Mac on the ropes just then 😬and he knew it!! He knew exactly what was coming in regards to the questions that you were about to put to him. I reckon by his body language and they way he came across that in the next update AKAI “WILL” deliver those big hitting “key features” that the community have been patiently waiting for,i also reckon he was being sincere in regards to the future road map and also the fact that he did mention the feedback from the community forums too! It now seems that Akai are seriously listening to their users! The road ahead looks a promising one and that things have never looked so good for Akai right now, they know that they have a massive user community out there and they also know within themselves they can’t afford to let those people down! I’m confident that we are going to see some great things coming from Akai this year!!! Great job bro!!
Aye just trying to ask the questions we all have lol. I do agree though, they seem to be really trying to improve, I'm not mad at the updates they've been doing over the years, a lot coming from what people ask for. We shall see! Set my audio tracks free LOL
Salute to you Saint Joe for holding Andy to task. I appreciate that you weren't letting him get away with beating around the bush and giving you strawman and red herring answers that didn't really answers your questions. Though I like the One as an entry level MPC when I look at it in isolation from the other current MPCs, I think that when you compare it to the Live it becomes less appealing. It has cv and more dedicated buttons which is nice but with its form factor that is perfect for portability, it lacks a battery, the option to add an ssd, and wifi. I think most would agree that it is worth it to just wait and save the extra money for Live. The Live may not have the cv and extra bottons but what it has that the One lacks still makes it a much better machine to have even at the higher price point. Again, I think the One is a nice machine but when you put it in perspective, it just seems like the decision to make it as it is was strange and a waste of time and resources. It would have been a better move to make the One as it is but with a rechargeable battery, the option to add an ssd, and wifi and call it a Live XL. Live users would have felt cheated but it still would have been a better move.
THIS COMMENT EXACTLY. Like the proof was when St. asked him...why would u buy this...dude said because of size....(something the LIVE has) and the buttons....my God ...the buttons? LMAOO ....be serious Akai...the price is good...but bang for your buck...wait until this drops then the Lives price will drop slightly....save a bit more for a Live and go that route....its ALOT more versatile and/or future proof with being able to add your own SSD and etc....Akai with the smoke and mirrors....lets keep em enamored with "new" unnecessary hardware while we are getting lapped by NI and others...in the software department....as someone who is invested in Akai its really frustrating...get the Live and skip this
I feel you fam, a battery would have been dope, (and a tilt screen lol) but from a business perspective I get it. Consider this is 699, Maschine is 599, Push is 799, and digitakt is 749, there's a lot on offer here for the price. It seems like the battery in reserved for the "Live". I think this would be more portable than the Live personally, but I actually do dig the size and dedicated buttons (reason I dig the buttons on the X vs the Live) and functionality wise you still get the same experience when it comes to how it operates. I think it will do well, I think the Live appeals to a specific user and for those who don't need to be mobile on battery power this works. I'm glad they have different options though.
@@SoundsAndGear I don't know bro. The One is compact and offers you extra buttons and cv for $699 with no wifi, no battery, and no option to add an ssd. For $999 the Live is also compact but it's also rechargeable, has wifi, and can have an ssd added to it. The Live doesn't have the extra buttons that the One has which are nice but you can operate the Live just fine with the buttons that it does have. The Live doesn't have the cv that the One has which is nice but that is an easy tradeoff for the portability and extras that you get with the Live. I know that $300 is not small change for some but even if it means waiting longer to buy the Live so you can save up the money for it I think that it's well worth it for what you get over the One. But that is my view which I feel is reasonable but maybe there is a market for people that feel that the One as opposed to the Live works for them.
@@Mayimbe_ Yeah, it just depends on the person. Some may not even care about the battery, may want CV, may not use wifi or bluetooth (I don't really use them on the X) and don't mind plugging in. Someone who is used to performing with their modular for example, may be used to needing power anyway, and now they have an MPC that is way more portable than the X lol, but still has CV for their performance. I really don't see this as similar to the Live, or taking away from the Live. I also think, personally, the ergonomics are better and more in line with the X. Options are good!
That moment at 12:30 where SoundsAndGear remains almost silent about THE NEW DRUM SYNTH IN STANDALONE ON THE LIVE THAT'S COMING and continues to blab about the MPC One. XD
Great questions. They seem to have stopped engaging on the beta forum so this is the most solid info available at present. Proper multi timbre midi iinput is the biggest one for me but I'm not too hopeful they'll ever implement it.
Drum machine? Wow. I was wondering when Akai would make more synths in the OS. Now imagine if they opened their APIs for 3rd parties! The MPC would be the ONLY standalone hardware platform that did synth plug-ins!
True Akai/Denon/Inmusic...they got goooood plan...so take over EDM n clubs...same platform over all..bet will all link...they are rockin it...first to take on pioneer for 20 years😉...edit wtf Andy Mac?? Err drum synth you sneaked..woooooow love ya all xxx and ya that step sequencer including midi cv rocks proper style😂😂😂well done all
My wish... MPC ONE XL that features the same direction and locate buttons the MPC Studio has, a tilting screen, normal sized pads, and a battery would be icing on the cake. That would be sweeeeet! Who else wants an MPC ONE XL? :)
@@SoundsAndGear Yea I think the One is targeting a different market that doesn't have the funds or does not want to fork over $1100-2100 for the Live and X. Plus if they were to add all the extra stuff like battery and other stuff people are already complaining about, it will push the price up to where the Live is and Akai would basically be competing against themselves.
@@SoundsAndGear Only thing that bugs me a bit is the lack of Bluetooth, WIFI, and idk why they're taking Hype Synth out the final build (probably to keep the Force alive).
@@AveMcree Yeah I feel ya, seems Hype synth is Force only for now, I can't imagine they won't bring it to the MPC eventually though, but who knows lol. No Bluetooth/Wifi is strange but it has Ethernet so you can still connect in the lab.
SoundsAndGear would love to use it via WiFi with the iPad. Guess I’m buying the Roland D05 boutique and Akai 25 Mini play too. I might even get the wavestate and call it a year.
@@AveMcree Word. Wifi is really only for splice at this point lol, no wifi midi or anything like that. Wavestate looks dope, played it a lil bit, sounds pretty good too.
Does this and the live have the same amount of sounds, is it the same library of sounds that come with the live too? Nobody ever really dives into the sound too much? How many sounds does the one have compared to the live and how are the sounds different, if at all? Has anyone used one?
I would really love to have the F9 and ONE Expansions available for my LIVE. At least to see if I would keep them or not. I wonder if they will be available for the X/Live users?
Hey Joe glad ya there with da crew..enjoy!😂🎶🎶🎶🙌😎 plus on buttons better tackle ..bad ..no say what they are in dark like live?....but heck yeah this great for us lol and form factor rocks...if had one choice would be 'one' lol..pad bit big on live for me being lady so loving this...err want to buy some stuff any one?? Any one😂 say hi to Ken and Corry😉 and Enjoy!! Oh and if you bump into Nick and ru out of convo...ask him about sonicstate live gig...cider girl 😂😂😂 hes great sence of humour awesome lol..ahh enjoy lol wish I was there😕
@@SoundsAndGear yeah sooo clever what theyve done Akai/Inmusic ...sticking to, this they are going for modular users/ first groove box market and I think people who thinking about Maschine market....they already got Ableton on board (In DJ world Denon Prime stuff taking over same way....plays nice with all the major software while being first standalone equipment ever!) they are takin over EDM and clubs...how smart is that?
If you want to be completely mobile, and don't have a need for cv, and also want to add your own HD, go for the Live. If you don't care about those things or having to plug in, and plan to use an SD card or USB device for your storage, get a One. It really depends on what you plan to do and how you plan to use it.
Here’s a weird ? Do the touch screens on these machines support a stylus? And can you load your plug ins on these machines say like Reason studio or Sound Toys?
I don't know about stylus, I tried one once and it didn't but maybe it depends on the type? You can't load your own plugins on standalone, only when using it with the software/computer.
@@SoundsAndGear so the three plugins that come with the MPC one or the only plugins you're able to put on? You're not able to hook it up to your computer and put a plug in on?
@@joeboo9801 No, you can't load a plugin onto the hardware and use it without the computer. Akai creates specific plugins for that. If you want to use other plugins you have to use it with the computer/software.
How many Instrument/Midi & Audio tracks can you have? Can you note repeat notes from a midi keyboard using the Akai Mpc X/Live/One button functions instead of touching the pads from those devices?
Yea we could use some disk steaming with everything loading into the ram makes it almost impossible to record a live show or session the 5000 could do it but then again those where the days of cd's and that's the reason they haven't put that in these newer units i believe. The cd functionality is kind of what allowed us to do that or you wouldn't of been really able to load the tracks to sample from them.
Interesting. but i'm going to stick with the Live. two more outputs is more important to me. I have to as far is the tube synth goes I really don't care for it. the sound isn't that meaty to me. I do like the Bassline synth. it's the best of the three.
Can this be powered via usb? This MPC ONE looks like the Live and the MPC STUDIO had a baby👶🏾. I also wonder if the are trying to go after the Digitakt market 🤔 I really wish they had put a damn battery in it though 🙄
I'm not sure on USB power, I think it requires the power adapter. I definitely think Digitakt, Maschine, Push, etc. I also wish it had a battery but I get it, that's for the Live lol.
Joe appreciate the Q&A in this one. My question is on the track options....Andy mentioned you could explode a drum track and get all the individual stems. Does the same apply if you use one track to record multiple progression ghost notes and leads with the synths and sample instruments? 8 tracks is limiting just want to see if there are work arounds.
The 8 track limit is for specific track types. There are 8 audio tracks in standalone, and 8 plugin tracks in standalone, (both unlimited in controller mode) but there are still regular MIDI tracks (used for drums, samples, keygroups, etc), and those are not limited to 8 tracks.
@@SoundsAndGear 🤪 ok....now that sounds better!!... definitely would like to see this demo'd more but I realize that getting hands on with it is the best way to explore the features. Thanks Joe..... MPC1 lookin like a sleeper....I'm goin in😜👍🏾
I know you can hook a midi keyboard to anything but what about an all in one standalone MPK that would be large enough to put in a battery/pads screen all the dedicated buttons plus room for extra buttons never seen before on an MPC and also modulation but you can probably also add two screens for different modes or just one lol but also you could add a hard drive and have easier access to the battery if you ever need to replace it.... just a thought but wish LIVE had all the dedicated buttons. I Think One is up against the 404, digitakt and OP-1...
Yeah, what "all the issues"? Never heard a single complaint about the live batteries, they have juice for days.. like 4x longer than any laptop battery! I'd say the batteries are excellent.
Theres been issues with batteries not charging anymore or the mpc not being able to power on cuz the battery went bad. Theres topics on it online for battery replacements...
akai always make products that get out dated quick. now your stuck with gear u cant update. mpc 60,2000,3000,2000xl,2500,4000..YES! ..everything after that ...HELL NO!
