Aw no we're seeing Theo act out of character against Nan and Theo. I think its clear he isn't gunna win Nan in the end...I just hope the Theo we met who was decent and kind remains and lets Nan go in the end for the right reasons.
I don't know if it is intentional but Nan and Theo always have these fairy tale esq cinematography, so it makes it all beautiful but I also kinda get this visual is also to make it show its not grounded in reality, they haven't shared ugly truths like Guy and Nan have from the start, therefore we're left to ponder what their romance is grounded in maybe.....

So the author turned Nan’s strong likable character, into a cheating, self-righteous, hypocrite by episode 3. Are Hollywood’s writers still on strike???

it wasn’t written by a Hollywood writer for the majority. the original writer was Edith Wharton but she never completed it

The only reason she didn't share her truth with him was because stupid Guy sent that telegram and then Theo got scared and told her not to say anything because he was worried she was gonna talk Guy's feelings. Like it was GUY'S FAULT.

Literally. If you think about it it's his fault and then Nan's fault because I don't feel like she's really attracted to Theo and she's playing with his feelings rn

Gus only realize that he was “desperately in love” when Theo appeared. SUS. Been there, done that. IRL, stay with the good guy who proposes first. Really. Do not come back with the guy who abandoned you in your most vulnerable moment…

I am speechless after watching the episode. I cannot comprehend how Theo that we saw as a total gentleman in 4 first episodes turns out to be like that . From "lover" to "the man" ( Taylor's version) . He was trying to find the one and the reason nan was appealing to him was because she was different. She wasn't the stereotypical girl. And now he's throwing shit like woman should only be in the kitchen? Like what the- I am not gonna lie I've been obsessing over him for a lot of days and after seeing this I am kind of turned off . But I really do blame the authors for that . A person cannot change that fast like come on . By the way about this British blonde creepy dude that I cannot remember his name right what is wrong with him? Likee I think that a fucking therapist should react to the show and tell us . At first I thought he was a psychopath then bipolar. But he's something way worst than the combination of those two

Even though there’s a lot of twists in the series that differs from the book, I’m not surprised about Theos character. He is charming in the beginning. It’s just in the series he has an amazing chemistry with Nan. They made Seadown very different in the series vs the book.

He didn't really change though. He was acting different because he was insecure and he's never really been insecure or had something out of his control before since he's a duke. Especially to Guy, Guy has always been below him in a sense. Don't get me wrong, I am shipping Nan with Guy through and through. But I think Theo's character and personality as a duke is starting to come out and Nan will see it more and more in episodes to come, which will lead to their downfall. Especially when she finds out that Theo read the letter.

I think saying that he is bipolar or psychopath is so exaggerated, I don't justify it but everything he did and said was in a moment of anger at feeling so disappointed in Guy, he felt insecure about him and he didn't want him around Nan and he was so Terrified of losing her. Sometimes people can say very hurtful things when they feel betrayed. A truly evil or narcissistic person wouldn't feel it, Theo's regret was real and sincere. Not everything is black and white, as for his sexist comments I feel that they exaggerate, the series takes place in the 19th century not in the 21st century, it is obvious that certain incorrect thoughts are ingrained, it would be very unrealistic if it were not, but it is obvious that He said it more out of anger than because he really felt that way.

The ending was completely disappointing Nan doesn't deserve Theo's love... How could such a plot be made and changed the day before the wedding??!!! Guy is "best friend". Just a disgrace. There was such hope for a sincere relationship between Nan and Theo... P.S. It would be better not to renew it for season 2

If the writers had properly developed this relationship and actually gave it a fighting chance rather than attempting to make Guy look like her “one true love” at every turn, they would have been a way more interesting pairing and couple. Makes alot of sense that the actors are dating in real life too since they have an obvious spark on-screen. Nothing about Nan/Guy seems authentic or interesting; it was pushed onto the audience from the first ten minutes and they just don’t give me the impression they are madly in love with one another 🤷🏻‍♀️ The show is really poorly developed though so can’t expect too much lmao

Muito 😂 Fiquei com muito ódio quando DO NADA o Theo começou a ser um babaca com todo mundo. A série quer que a gente perdoe o Gus por ser um “Caça dotes” que *fugiu* qd a Nan contou o segredo dela. Eu não perdoei 😂😂
