Thank you for this gem as well. If she was, at the most forty here, (a baby, folks!...where the time goes, I don't know,, so enjoy it), she seems to be incredibly sound & grounded. Midler can be hilarious, but this calm being comes through in every "proper" interview that she's done. I think U really set a quiet tone, that easily engages people to open up.Such a skill to have! I think Ms Midler is @ 74/75 now? I don't think she could have imagined the success, (w/ hard work) that she wld have sitting here circa 1985. I had gone off of her for a while, as she'd become too much of an "enterprise", but then I saw a recent interview and she still seems to be the antithesis of her stage persona. And a very grateful person. I remember her on Carson when I was 19', promoting one of my favorite LP's, "No Frills". She was truer than true, saying, "oh, this album is a bomb,, "I just cannot get any airplay". It was what md me really like her. The last I read about B. Midler was that they had sold their 5th Ave triplex, (purchased for 4mm?) & sold for $50mm. Just insane $. Same planet, different universe, as they say. Thanks again, I truly enjoy these time capsule interviews. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how much I have enjoyed your profiles in Vanity Fair. You should have a program on Amazon Prime, et al. interviewing these subjects again. I would imagine it would be very hard to sell, but I enjoy interviews so much more when people have nothing to plug. Thank you again, (& sorry for the insanely long post).

Can a post about a living legend like Bette Midler really be too long? I think not...and you make some great points here. I thoroughly enjoyed your post.

@@busterburns2196 Hey, Tx U Buster! 😊 Very kind of you to include me in yr. happy post abt. Bette. An incredible subject w/ an incredible interviewer! I always throw in too much banter. Sorry. U sound like a proper fan. I think Bette's best recording is "Let Me Just Follow Behind". It literally stopped what I was doing, (painting), when first heard it/felt it & loved it. I was a teenager, so I was late to the party, circa1979. All of her songs play well, but her CD, "Bette of Roses" still grabs me Ah, they're all great". I mentioned Bette in another post here on Nancy Collins' fantastic channel! Bravo to Miss Collins for sharing these moments in time with many perspectives that are still relevant oday. I appreciate this channel & being engaged by the moderator to "talk". I am icluding a Bette clip w/ Streep & ON-J. The rest, well it's abt. personal taste, ie: Cher standing there talking throughout an entire song/finale at a Fundraiser to fight Childhood Cancer,(? and !!! jeez!) That kind of behavior is just not on! Bette opens the program, but the hightlight is the finale @ 38.52 & these three powerhouses share their hearts & talents. They're all commited mothers singing & bringing us joy & with a subtle message.Isn't that's what it's all about?, (OK, corny). Music can transport you & these 3 artists do just that. Then you have journalists like Miss Collins who can engage them so, they'll talk as if cameras weren't rolling... or she pull of 10 pages of in depth interviews that kp the the reader engaged. Txs again & tk good care. I was at this very concert & so many songs were cut? You've probably seen this, after all,1990 was just yesterday, (so it seems?). Txs again & txs to Miss Collins for not deleting my posts 🙂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C3dEf-qkgUY.html
