I think her accent really helps her here. I don't usually say that about singers, but her words are a lot more precise than most native English vocalists.
Hailfire97 her accent in Icelandic allows her to hear the pronunciation of our English, much different. Thus she find more room to play with the measures and “chords” since she uses more vibrato. She uses single notes and progressions to stand out
I really love everything about them! How Nanna started out as a solo artist & then started to form a band. Winning the Iceland Battle Of The Bands. They BLEW up. The lyrics have a lot to do with Icelandic folklore. They are one of my top 3 bands to see live. Going to see them again this Saturday in Philly! Cannot wait!!!

Heard this video back when it posted in 2013. Been listening to this day and Nanna Bryndis is the only person that really makes me feel and think deeply about the lyrics of this song , always gives me goosebumps.This is by far the best cover version of "Kids" by MGMT I've ever heard and probably will ever hear! As a bass player of 10+ years, there is a ton of rhythm here. They are doing a superb job of keeping time without a drummer or a clicktrack. I usually need a good drummer keeping time to be in sync, but I could play with them because the internal pulse is so strong and consistent. Folk is not my favorite genre either, but these guys do the song great justice.
Hearing any song she does and I cant help but wonder how something so perfect was ever made. I love Of monsters and men!!!!!!!!!! OMAM for life!!!!!!!!!!
